Bumblebelly slithered out of the nursery with ease. Seeing all those tiny innocent faces, the future of the clan, it was heart melting! Even if it was a gloomy reminder of the things he had lost twice throughout his life. The innocence of childhood was something that didnt seem to bless Bumblebellys life very often.

'"Lionstar!" He called out across the clearing, stretching out muscular limbs as he walked along, "Lionstar, I picked up three kittens at the beach. I've dropped them off with Sugarapple for the time being but the poor Dear seemed ever overworked... Its ashame she doesn't have anymore queens to help her out," He shrugged his shoulders back, "The kits fate lay in your paws but they seemed healthy enough, I cant think of a reason not to bring them back,"

Leopardblaze settled down beside her friend, taking a bite into her shrew, letting the slight warmth wash over her tongue. "Yes, it certainly it," she said after swallowing the bite of shrew, nodding as she looked around. There were so many things different about Riverclan compared to SkyClan, even though it had been so long she was still shocked by how much had changed. She thought about Ivyshine's question for a moment, before answering, "Well at first it was a lot to process, I guess now that I've lived her for a while I'd say I like it." She smiled and mewed, "Water is still not a favorite, but at least I know I won't drown. I still miss how things used to be, but it is what it is I suppose." She took another bite of her shrew, swiping her tongue across her lips once she swallowed it.

Ivyshine took a content breath to smell in the world around her. Though it was different, she was comforted by the thought that Leopardblaze adapted here and, therefore, she could to. It was only a matter of will and hard work, and Ivyshine knew she could do both. She couldn’t help but giggle. ”I can’t wait to see you get your fur wet!” She purred, blinking at her old friend happily. She saddened and guilt sparked in her gaze at the next sentence, and she grabbed a bite of vole before answering with a nod. ”Maybe if I’d been there... things would’ve been different. Maybe SkyClan would still be here.” She murmured sorrowfully. Stupid Twolegs who took her far away! She shook her head and took another bite of food to try and drown her sorrows, trying to make her stay in the present instead of what could’ve been if she had somehow managed to escape.

Leopardblaze laughed softly smiling, "You should've seen my first swim lesson, I felt like a half-drowned rat." She felt a purr rise in her throat, content in that moment. Her ears perked up as she heard her friend's tone change, "You can't blame yourself for something you have no control over. There were so many things out of our control that led to us being here." After a moment she took another bite of her shrew pushing all those thoughts away, her friend was here it was time to relax and enjoy the fresh-kill.

"Cattail Pond has been used for swimming practice for seasons and is rich in certain fish you wouldn't normally find in the river." She purred delightedly, it was always her favourite place to train as an apprentice and she felt it only right to share it with Softpaw.

"Do you call everyone bud or just the cats you dub to be younger than you?" Bumblebelly asked with a small squeaky giggle. The tick was cute, he had his own habits of all everyone darling but with his emotions being all over the place, it had been a while before he found himself in a good enough mood to do so.

Bumblebelly's whole body seemed to ease. He hadn't even been there for a whole moon yet, the idea of jumping back into the place he called home only a week or so ago made his heartache with fear. Should he mention Dogpaw? Maybe, best not. She was only an apprentice, after all, probably couldn't do much damage, surely she wouldn't be able to do more than a scratch.

"Thats it," He cooed quietly, a quiet hum to his words. "I'd be nice to chat soon you know, less as warrior and deputy but more as two buds," Bumblebelly gave him a wink, turning on his heels to leave. "Pleasure talking to you, darling!"

"I- uh," What was it with people questioning 'bud' lately? First Fawn thinking it meant rosebud and Lion getting all puffed up about it and now Bumblebelly too! "It's just- an everyone thing." He said with a slight huff. It was just a name! Punctuation, even! A way to end the sentence! Was that so bad? But he shook his head - there was no need to let his temper flare over something so trivial.

"Right, well. We'll see about that sometime bud." A casual chat would be nice but he couldn't let that slip now. There was a war of nicknames to be won here. "And for stars sake, don't start calling me darling! I don't need another Silvershade on my paws.

Leopardblaze purred happily, "Of course I will!" She was excited to be the one teaching her friend to swim. She quickly ate the rest of her shrew as she heard her friend's question, hearing the excitement in her voice. "Yes," she chirped happily as Ivyshine bumped her. She stood up stretching her legs before straightening herself, purring, "Let's go." She shook her fur, fluffing it up against the chill in the air, he tail swishing happily.

Eagleflower felt his eyes widen at the mention of her 'long journey'. What kind of journey did she mean? Was she returning from someplace? Has she been in the same situation as Leopardblaze here? He tilted his head in slightly curiosity.
"If you, uh, wouldn't mind me asking, of course...where...where have you been?" He straightened up, seeing her own in the flick of her tail. His...name? His name. HIS NAME! Good Starclan, he had terrible social skills. He paused for a moment, flustered.
"Eagleflower. Nice to meet you." He mewed, dipping his head respectfully. Thank the stars she'd told him her name. He couldn't live calling her 'Ivy-something' the entire time!

Burrberry padded to the prey pile and picked up a medium-sized fish, she then padded back in the direction of the nursery.
