The beetle flew away, and the kit looked around to see if anyone had seen that. He spotted a familiar apprentice and darted over to her. "Hi, Burnetpaw!" he exclaimed. He saw the vole in front of her, and his green eyes went wide. "Ooh, did you catch it? It's so big!!" he squeaked. He looked back up at her expectantly.
"Why hello, Snipkit!" Burnetpaw chirped. She loved the little kit. She felt like she could really express herself around them, because they wouldn't care what she said. Burnetpaw stood up and padded over to the bouncing bundle of joy. She nudged him to help him find his balance after tumbling around. "I didn't catch this, but I bet an apprentice did! He was probably so excited!" Burnetpaw grinned. She really didn't know who caught it, but she wanted to get Snipkit excited to be an apprentice. Burnetpaw bent down a bit to be eye level with Snipkit. "When you're an apprentice, you will have a mentor that will teach all you need to know to be the best warrior ever!" Burnetpaw marveled. She beamed at the kitten.

Snipkit was visibly shaking from excitement. His eyes got wider--if that was even possible--at Burnetpaw's mention of him becoming an apprentice. "My ceremony's only two moons away!" he informed her. He was four moons old, but he certainly didn't look it. He was still scrawny with the downy fur of a younger kit. He was often mistaken for a kit of about two moons, partly because of his appearance and partly because of his immature personality. He was excited for the thrill of warrior life and the chance to learn from these warriors whom he idolized. He beamed back at Burnetpaw, his green eyes shining.

The subject changed momentarily, giving the warrior a moment to relax. Although, her green optics blinked in confusion instead. She wasn't sure who he was talking about. A brother? "Is- Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" she asked instead, trying her best to calm down. She was feeling better after getting the scares out of her system.

Next, Treetiger shrugged a bit. "It's nice to have some form of freedom in the clan," she replied. Which was true, a mentor didn't have to follow her around and she didn't need escorted everywhere. "I can do my own thing and others can't make fun of me for providing for the clan now," she continued, sounding a little more determined now.

The golden warrior narrowed his eyes and gave the tabby a long stare before he decided it was best not to try and push a response out of her. He shrugged and began to groom his chest fur, it was also a bit of a nervous habit of his. "That's fine. Don't need to share if you don't want to, in fact, half the time when I was an apprentice I didn't really want to share anything either, it was always a secret....or....was that Nightcry?" he mumbled to himself, bringing a white tipped paw to one of his soft cheeks and pressing against it, hoping there was a button there somewhere that would help him access his depleating memories. "Ah! That's the question isn't it? Well, I loved him, still do in fact, and I love you. So it's a good thing. Mmmh, there's other things that remind you of him but...we'll just leave it at love for now hm?" he answered, blue hues flickered with humor, but that humor hid the worry that sparked within him. He loved his brother, he truly did, which is what made the ebony tom's death so painful for Dayhum to bear, as well as the secrets that came to light after the incident.

At his former apprentices retort the tabby let out a snort that laughed, "It's nice to go off on your own isn't it? I was so excited when I had my first big adventure alone I managed to fall into a ditch. " he chuckled, but than jumped up and gave Treetiger a serious gaze "Watch out for ditches, by the way." by the end of his sentence he was snickering. He felt so proud as she spoke with such praise toward herself, it made him happy, he helped her be happy. He helped make this smile, helped make her a warrior. The warrior gave the other a big smile "I'm proud of you." he hummed, closing his eyes to relax himself.

She knew she would never understand fully what some of her clanmates were thinking when they goofed off, and there was no chance in the Dark Forest that she would ever do some of the things she caught her clanmates doing, but, she also knew that she shouldn't be so critical of them. After all, what was clan life if you couldn't have a bit of fun with your clanmates? When he asked about the prey she ate her head tilted. She suddenly felt a small pang in her stomach and was reminded that she hadn't eaten yet today and made a mental note to do so after her chat with Passionstar. Her tail twitched again as she watched the tom. Creamfrost's eyes rolled a small bit when he sat down to get a better angle and she got up, padding closer to him. Without a word, she started rubbing her nose through his thick pelt searching for the little pests bugging her leader. When she found one she would pluck it quickly, not giving him a chance to realize that she'd even found one before doing so. It was one of the few times the molly didn't really have anything to say, so she simply settled for helping her leader out with the tough spots.
When she had no response, Passionstar gave her a certain look - just to be sure that she didn't have anything defying to say, but nothing came, except the gentle look in her blue irises. They were calm, almost like a gentle flow of an ocean on a bright sunny day on the beach. Yet, she seemed to understand where he was coming from, and he felt that was something they could relate to. However, as he tried his best fluffing his pelt out and trying to groom it as best as he could, he had not been expecting her to help him with it. Not that he minded the help at all, they were clan mates, and he would had done the same thing. However - he wasn't ready for her to yank it out. His claws had unsheathed, digging deep into the earth as he threw his head back, hissing at the sky. ''Almighty, Starclan! Good Grief!'' He yowled, flitting his eyes down to the she cat to give her a quick glare. Truth be told, Passionstar was rather aloof to the notion of pain, but that didn't mean he didn't feel it. In his impulsion, he thought of mind over matter, so as long as he didn't think about how much he was hurting, then he didn't feel the pain at all. Until all was said and done, and he would be throbbing pretty badly. ''I 'ppreciate you helping me though. It'd probably take me all day to get this done...if it gets done at all.'' He snickered a tiny bit. Passionstar never been the tom that appeared ''presentable''. He was always fashionably unkempt, whether his fur was sticking in every which direction, or he was disheveled into a puffy ball, or even when he finished frolicking in the mud, half his fur would be caked with dry mud. No surprise there. He followed along, plucking out the annoyances in his fur, though it took him a while before they were all gone. ''Allow me to take you out on a walk. Get you to de-stress.'' He suggested, despite just walking back into the heart of his clan, he was already ready to roll back out and explore the forest. He couldn't sit in one place far too long, and Creamfrost looked like she could use a break from her aggression and worrisome thoughts.

"For me, being different is what is causing the problems in my life..." he shrugged his shoulders, causing his muscles to ripple under his sleek, night black pelt. As she continued to study him, he silently awaited her next words. When she spoke up, he had to adkit he was surprised by her question. Not a lot of cats asked him about the cause of his injury... yet, they didn't really need to. The whole half moon he had spent in the medicine cat den, in horrible pain and unable to walk... everyone had known about it, and the news spread... "I had been out on a hunting assignment when I was still a young apprentice, and I was climbing up a large rock after a squirrel when I slipped and fell off the edge... and after I was well enough to leave the medicine cat den, I had been bullied with nicknames like 'Twistedpaw' and 'Lamepaw' instead of my actual name, which was Darkpaw at the time." he gazed down at his paws as he went quiet, wondering what she was thinking. Was she horrified? Surprised? Pitying? He started to think maybe it had been a mistake to tell her about the accident. He should have just let her wonder. He neatly tucked his forepaws underneath his chest, his tail tip flicking with nervousness. He glanced up when she gently wrapped her tail around him, and a hint of surprise was in his amber gaze before he blinked it away. He gave her a small smile, then nodded at her words. "That is true... to have only one true friend will bring more happiness than having a lot of fake ones..." he tilted his head. "Oh, really?" he teased back, giving an amused flick of his ears. He felt a smile spread over his maw, but that smile disappeared at her question. He gave a small nod. "Yeah... if I use it too much, it will ache and hurt pretty bad, and so when I go out, I can't travel very far, because walking too much causes pain. Like an elder with a back problem." As she groomed his chest, he groomed her head, a small smile on his maw as she babbled gushingly about the beauty of the stars. When she mentioned stargazing sometime, he paused his grooming his friend to affectionately give her cheek a quick lick. "I would very much like that" he said with a purr and a smile. He would love to stargaze with his new friend. Stargazing was one of his favourite things to do, but to have someone beside him to share the beauty of the stars with, maybe even challenge them to a counting game... it sounded like loads of fun!

He nodded as she spoke again, turning his head a bit to help her groom his face better. "Yeah... I would feel like I was dishonoring my parents somehow if I left the place where they gave birth to me and raised me... I know it sounds crazy, but they loved this place so much..." he shrugged again, then his face grew sad at her next question. "Oh... well, they both died in battle. Not uncommon, but still saddening, nonetheless..." he glanced up at her. "Oh, wow, I'm very sorry about that... I couldn't even imagine what it would be like if I didn't know my own parents... but, you're not a nomad now, though, are ya?" he said his last words teasingly, sweeping his tail around to indicate the full camp around them. "You have many friends, and ThunderClan is your family now." he nodded, sure of himself. He blinked in surprise at her next question. "Charming?" he gave a thoughtful tilt of his head. "Well, I never thought about it, but I suppose we are... hmm..." he blinked as she talked again. He smiled at her, resting his tail on her head. "Ah, you're just full of questions, aren't you?", he purred. "I only had two friends as a kit, actually. To train as an apprentice... it is challenging, and exhausting, and sometimes frustrating. But, when you step up on the Highledge and receive your warrior name, after all those moons of hard work and exhausting lessons... that feeling of pride and accomplishment is one of the best in the -." he stopped talking as she began to babble again, and with a twinkle in his eyes, he decided to just listen to her talk, a wide smile on his maw and a sparkle of amusement in his amber eyes. He loved to hear her talk like this. Her voice had a sweet and musical tone to it, and when she babbled, all bubbly and excited, he had to admit, it was cute. It made her look like a kit. As she gazed down at her paws shyly, cheeks rose pink with embarrassment, he let out a light laugh, flicking her ears gently with his tail before withdrawing it. His friend was bashful, he now knew that, and he didn't want her to think of herself as annoying. He smiled gently at her. "It's okay, Saplingpetal. You can talk all you like. I'm more of a listener than a talker, anyway, so just talk all you want and I'll just, ah, listen." he gazed at her with genuine interest in his amber orbs, hoping she would keep talking. She had the most interesting way of speaking. He quite enjoyed listening to what she had to say.
Saplingpetal didn't think about how being different made someone unique, yet can cause the most difficult problems in life. It was such a horrible thing, whether others pitied the fallen, or treated them ridiculous, or whatever else. All she could see was a kind tom who needed a little friend to put a spark back in his life. Evidently, hearing about his accident, and about how young he was made her heart race - mainly because she had a son who was a young apprentice, and she could only imagine the worst if something happened to her kit...well, he wasn't really a kit anymore, and Jaggedpaw would chew her out in a second about treating him like one. Saplingpetal was an escapist, so as soon as those negative thoughts settled in her mind, she would quickly replace them with something brilliant, so she didn't have to think about the possibility that something bad could happen. It also didn't help that her son was a reckless tom, and often caused trouble...''I'd love for my kit to look up to you, Darkfur. Maybe, you could teach him how to be more of a saint instead of a delinquent.'' That was genuine, even though she was joking. Jaggedpaw needed a steady role model in his life. He's never been much around toms - not even his father or his half-brother. Passionstar was such a remarkable tom in her eyes, and she hoped that her son would become more...reasonable, wise, as he aged. ''I never understand why cats feel the need to bully. I suppose it's a kittish thing, but making fun of someone because of an accident? That's beyond low. I wish Jaggedpaw would ever do something like that...'' The she cat huffed. Truthfully, she had no reason to furthermore scold Jaggedpaw since he was close to becoming a warrior. Her job as a queen was over, and she was trying to settle into being a warrior, but that wasn't always easy. At least, she made some well friends and gossiping buddies to keep around. Saplingpetal was starting to adore this sweet tom, her heart was simply calling out for him. Before her son was a twinkle in her eye, she used to be a brash she cat with a fiery personality. She was independent and ferocious, but raising Jaggedpaw for the first few moons of motherhood, she became more tolerant. More emotional. Her maternal instincts kicked in naturally, and now she was a softhearted feline. ''You can do anything. Anything at all. And, no one could tell you otherwise. If you can't do it alone, then there's always a friend there that will help you.'' She paused her grooming, nuzzling his chest with the top of her head lightly, an attempt to comfort him.

At least she managed to make him smile about one thing - stargazing. The kiss on her cheek was such an innocent gesture that she couldn't help but feel warmth in her soul from the action, purring deeply. ''Well, then. It's a date, sometime soon.'' She calmly replied, returning her own smile his way. ''I used to stargaze with my son often...but he seems to have outgrown such. That's when we were just nomads, really. The stars were just the...stars. Not some clan where cats go when they die.'' Maybe that was a little too offensive for Darkfur, Saplingpetal's eyes bugged as she realized how indifferent she sounded when it came to his religion. By all means, she honestly didn't have full faith in this Starclan, but that didn't mean she wasn't sensitive about it. ''Sorry, I don't mean to be insensitive about it.'' She pinned her ears to her head, looking away for a moment. ''I've been here for a good while. It's just that I'm still trying to learn the ways of a clan and its culture.'' She laughed it off, flicking her tongue over the bottom of her jaw to wet her maw.

Oh, Saplingpetal couldn't justify how much she adored living in Thunderclan. There were such a spunk of colorful cats to get to know, and she'd done well with making friends quite easily as if she had been born in this very place herself. It was nice...to have more than just one cat to depend on when it came to family and friends. It was nice to outright hear that the whole of thunderclan would be there when she needed them. It was what family did...who they were. She wasn't used to living in a family. She was pretty sure that she would had done well with raising a strong tom kit on her own...or, maybe that's what she wanted to believe. Normally, Saplingpetal didn't become too sheepish around others - not this social butterfly. She always knew how to keep a conversation flowing, and most times she'd wouldn't mind having a conversation with herself while the other party was listening in. However, for Darkfur to address it caused her to become heated under her pelt. ''Well, I mean, I-I-I, I j-just,'' She rolled her eyes at herself, ''I don't notice when I talk too much. Or, if I'm being too nosy...'' She rubbed it off as curiosity when she asked her questions. She twitched her nose, ''...I'm not making you uncomfortable, am I?'' She asked, pausing, looking up at him, tilting her head back. She'd hate to make him feel like he had ants in his pelt because she was a blabbering, nosy she cat. ''You could tell me to shut up anytime you feel that I'm talking too much.'' She giggled, thinking that Darkfur was just trying to be too kind to her. She was one of those she cats who would babble on and on until someone stopped her, or if she managed to stop herself when she noticed that she was incessantly going off the rocker. ''I want to know more about you. Getting to know each other is a two way pathway, and I can't just spill on and on things about me. If I'm being honest, I am such a mundane she cat with no excitement in her life. The only excitement I ever felt was the rush of...well...falling in love. I mean...at least, I thought it was love, but instead, I was wooed, I was left, and now I have...the best thing that ever walked into my life; my tom kit. I still want to kill the slimeball but you know - '' Saplingpetal paused, realizing that she was about to go on a ranting rampage about her former mate; more of a fling, in his eyes. She shook her head, ''This is exactly what I mean. Whenever I talk, it's always too much, and it's always about me...I'm not conceited, I swear, Darkfur...I want to get to know you more.'' Because that's how friendships worked. She wondered if they had anything in common. It appeared not so, but the saying opposites attract might be true.

Her face scrunched up into an expression of joy as she successfully flung it up. Although she was nearly ready to be an apprentice and also looked like one, Ashkit still had her moments where she acted like she was only 3 moons old. And then there were other times were Ashkit was more serious than half the kits her age. It really just depended on her mood. But when she was cheerful like this, she was less mature than everyone else her age.

Ashkit giggled happily until the piece of moss dropped to the ground like a stone. Then she stopped and simply stared at the moss for a few moments before moving away with a pout. Now that her game was over, she would have to find something else to do. Maybe she could find someone else and play with them! The thought brightened her and immediately a smile had found its way onto her face again.

She trotted around the camp, her tail high in the air and a friendly smile perched on her face. The smile was so friendly however, that it almost looked a little fake, but this was Ashkit’s actual smile and it was genuine. Hmm, I wonder who wants to play with me, she thought. Ashkit could’t help but notice that she rarely had anyone who wanted to play with her except for her mother and a nice kit named Lightningbugkit. Recently she hadn’t seen much of Lightningbugkit, and it disappointed her a little because she wanted to play with him, but she knew that she would be fine. If he wasn’t going to be there for her so that they could play together, then she would just have to find someone else.

Ashkit looked around the camp, when a cry nearby attracted her attention. She whipped her head around, concern already blazing in her eyes as she heard the frustration in the voice. Her eyes landed on a tom kit, who looked to be around her age. Lightningbugkit? She thought, noticing the familiar pelt pattern. She immediately rushed over, thinking that it was the kind tom and worried that he may’ve hurt himself, judging by the way that he was lying on the ground. She leaned over the body as she reached it, cocking her head sideways so that she could look at the face the right way. Disappointment pulled at her as she realised that it wasn’t Lightningbugkit. It was his brother.
Ashkit hadn’t had the best interactions with Fireflykit. Her first impression of him was that he was just an arrogant tom cat who thought he was better than everyone else, and even though it had been a while since they had last interacted, she still believed that. She stood back and let the tom get up, not offering a paw to help him up. She doubted that he would want that anyway.
Everyone had their moments when they failed, and Fireflykit was no exception. However, being the haughty tom that he was, he assumed that he'd perfect everything he did on the first go. That wasn't the case. Climbing a tree wasn't that easy, and it wasn't like his brother wouldn't wittily tell him so. Fireflykit was so glad he wasn't here to witness his failure because the tom would tear his pelt apart if he had to hear Lightningbugkit's 'I told you so's. Lately, his twin had been busy with Russetkit, as of late. The plain she cat had taken Lightningbug's company and attention away from his own brother. Honestly, it got boring on some days when Fireflykit was alone, but he made that up by being a nuisance to anyone he deemed as his target. He wasn't prejudice either; he'd cause trouble for kits, apprentices, warriors, and elders! If he was lucky... even the leader or the deputy or the medicine cat.

His vision was a little bit blurry first when he fell, and when he saw a figure looming over him, he saw the cat multiple into three copies of themselves until they visibly combined into one. He let out audible mutters, his head throbbing a tiny bit until he started to slowly lift himself up. ''Nice to know you'd help a clan mate out.'' He spat at the she cat - now, that he knew who she was. ''Ooh, it's you.'' He plainly said. He didn't have anything against Ashkit. He didn't think about her at all. She was Lightningbugkit's friend - everyone was his brother's friend, and everyone always mistaken him for Lightningbugkit. No surprise much, they were identical twins after all. There were minor differences that one would have to be around the two brothers for prolonged hours in order to notice them accurately. Like Fireflykit had a much fluffier tale, and Lightningbugkit had more dark spots than Fireflykit had, but these weren't noticed much because they looked incredibly identical, and had a cute game of pretending to be the other to prank others.

Fireflykit always had been pretty proud, so he didn't ask for Ashkit to help him. Although he wouldn't had been offended if she had lend out a paw to give him a boost up, but he wouldn't mention that. He knew the she cat had something against him. The little moments they had interacted, he always shown a more conceited, confident side to him that probably didn't sit well with the she cat, but impressing her was the least of Fireflykit's desires. She was always so belligerent to him, or she'd outright ignore him. The thing about it was Fireflykit did things out of spite, only to get a rile out of her. She didn't like him, and he was indifferent towards her. ''You definitely look so excited to see me! And, honestly, I'm incredibly excited that you decided to stop on by when I needed you the most,'' He feigned a purr her way. The disappointment in her gaze was more than noticeable, and he'd have fun with knowing that. Maybe that's why she couldn't stand him -

Fireflykit hopped quickly back to his paws, getting his bounce back after his fall as he surveyed the tree he was ready to climb. Thunderclan cats were supposed to be a natural at climbing trees, right? So, what was it that he was doing wrong? His nails weren't sharp or long enough yet, but that didn't have to be a factor, should it? Possibly that was a good thing since he's more than likely end up hitting cats on the head with loose branches he could find. ''Are you gonna stand there or give me a paw and help a friend out?'' His tone was sickeningly sweet, not filled with hostility or hatred, but more so of teasing.
