Slatestripe was really the only cat besides her mother that she seemed close to. He also wanted to make sure she wasn’t mad at him or at Pikestar for making Fawnleap her mentor.
He glanced back at Autumnpaw. “I must speak with one of your denmates, and then we’ll get started with your territory tour. Wait here until I’m done.”
At that, he briskly walked toward Mintpaw.

Mintpaw hadn't noticed the familiar dark pelt approaching until the tom stood in front of her. Switching her gaze from her mentor to the male warrior, she blinked questioningly wondering why he had come. He was not supposed to train her and she wasn't his responsibility. Furthermore, she was sure that Slatestripe wouldn't have that much time now that he was busy with Autumnpaw.
Shifting her weight from paw to paw uncomfortably, she looked down at the ground and waited for the warrior to speak. Maybe he wants to congratulate. At least he is here. But Lilyleaf was kind, and even though she was her mother, Mintpaw supposed that it was normal for parents not to hang around too much. Not that it really matters. I'm good on my own.

Slatestripe’s eyes shone with pride as he looked down at Mintpaw. He had only known her for about a moon and a half, and already she looked so much bigger. “Congratulations on your apprenticeship, Mintpaw,” he said. “I hope you aren’t too downtrodden about not getting assigned to me. Fawnleap is a good warrior, and you’ll do just fine with her. And I’m not going anywhere, either; if you ever want some extra help with your training, feel free to seek me out.” He glanced in the direction of Mintpaw’s new mentor, hoping he wouldn’t offend her by asking. He didn’t want to imply that she was incapable of teaching her apprentice; rather, he just wanted to continue to be there for Mintpaw. She seemed to need a guiding paw, given that her mothers weren’t around much.
( @Ares for the Fawnleap mention )

Re: RiverClan Streamstone
Reedwhisker continued to listen to the meeting, there was bound to be more involved than just apprentice ceremonies. Of course, she always loved witnessing such occasions because apprentices were the future of the Clans, they'd be mentoring the kits who were in the nursery now. And then Pikestar had moved on to what seemed to be a reassignment. In this case, it was only one. Well, that was rare! And this reassignment involved Nightpaw, her temporary apprentice. Or- as the dark leader said, permanent apprentice. Reedwhisker was finally getting an apprentice! Excitement filled the young warrior's belly as she stood up to greet Nightpaw. I'll finish your training, Nightpaw. You'll become a great warrior one day.
"I will, Pikestar. I promise," she looked up at her leader and nodded firmly, casting a glance at her new apprentice.
The dark-furred leader began to speak once more, addressing the whole of RiverClan about expanding territory, but the problem with rogues was the only thing stopping Pikestar from giving the go-ahead. Perhaps she could ask more questions about where the territory would be expanded to after the meeting. Answers were better than just an explanation. And with no deputy to straighten out patrols, it would make it a bit more difficult. She'd talk to Pikestar about where they'd expand territory to later to appease her curiosity. As Pikestar said, he had a lot to attend to at the moment just like everyone else. She had to train Nightpaw.
( @ Ravenss ) ( @ canineantics ) ( @ forest )
But then the voice of Hollowstorm caught her ear. Oh, dear, what is it now with him? the dark brown warrior looked toward the tom and listened. Well, at least he had some news, but it was useless to the Clan given all the losses they've faced recently.
"Hollowstorm, while the information you've provided is certainly... interesting, Pikestar is handling too much right now with a murderer on the loose who is targeting our own. Not to mention, he has two apprentices. The rest of the Clan is also busy and is more focused on securing the Clan's future than battling rogues who we can't be certain are behind all the death. And Pikestar will deem it too risky to send someone over like a spy, so don't even think about suggesting that," she growled. "If you do want to help, I suggest you reinforce all the dens to make sure rogues can't get in without having to go through the rest of RiverClan."
With that, Reedwhisker walked over to Nightpaw, "Get some rest, I'll get you when it is time to train. Sleep well." She then padded toward the fresh-kill pile and went inside the elder's den to see if the elders would be hungry. If not, she'd go to the nursery to attend to the kits and queens.
-----------------------------------
Littlepaw was happy for her friend. She had gotten a new mentor, which meant that the former mentor wasn't doing their job properly or not at all. Well, at least she got a new mentor. Littlepaw then padded to the apprentices' den and sat down just outside of it.
-----------------------------------
Hawkpaw was rather pleased with how the rest of the meeting went. Nightpaw, a victim he's kept quiet about his secret, got a new mentor, but nothing else was interesting. Just some stuff about the rogue attacks which he was behind. The tom didn't feel the need to stay longer than he had to, so he decided to leave the meeting and go into the apprentices' den.

Big, blue eyes stared at Slatestripe's dark pelt approaching her from the other side of the crowd, after giving his new apprentice a quick nod. She wasn't really in a talkative mood right now - well, she was never in that - but she felt secretly comforted a bit by the fact that the warrior had actually come to congratulate with her. Now the absence of Lilyleaf was less piercing, even though she knew that he would soon leave her and go to his duties.
And now, I too have my duties. She reflected.
Mintpaw dipped his head to Slatestripe to greet him, and acknowledged his words with a twitch of her whiskers. She turned to Fawnleap, curious to see if her mentor knew him and what her reaction would be.

“Today’s already been a long day for you, with the ceremony and everything.Come to the Warriors den tomorrow morning and then we’ll start with whatever you want.” Nightclaw dipped his head to the newly named apprentice.

Re: RiverClan Streamstone
Sourpatch flinched when fawnpaw had pulled away and sighed as she watched her go... 'guess i did the wrong thing again... didn't i?' she thought as she watched the medicine cat leave, Sourpatch knew that Fawnpaw was hurting, but like usual there was nothing Sourpatch could do to help, because she, Sourpatch, was useless, just as her parents had tought her... she couldn't seem to do anything right, but she kepted those thoughts to her self...

LilyLeaf was padding quickly over to her kit. "MintPaw! Wow!" she said to her kit. "I'm so proud of you!" She said "MintPaw! What a pretty name!"

Mintpaw dipped her head in acknowledgement to her mother. She was pleased to see that she, too, had joined her apprentice ceremony, even if a bit late.
