Hollowstorm bolted upright from his sitting position, his thick, fluffy tail slapping Slatestripe in the face as he snarled at him. He crouched down next to Bearkit, growling very softly. "I know he looks like you, Bearkit. But he is not your father. I am. I know I don't come here very often, but that's because I am warrior that volunteers for every patrol, hunts for the Clan and doesn't come back until I've caught enough prey, or it's been a day. Unlike him. His meow deepened on that last word, and he shot a glare at Slatestripe.

Blossomflight felt rage bubble up until she couldn't hold it any more. She stormed over to Hollowtorm, and attempted to swipe a paw~ with unsheathed claws~ over her mate's face. "How dare you speak about Slatestripe that way!? He checks up on me more than you ever have, and you call yourself my mate!" She roared, pelt bristling. She pulled Bearkit close to her with a paw, glaring at Hollowstorm with cold eyes. How dare he. She could see why Slatestripe was more of a father figure to poor Bearkit.

Before Slatestripe could determine how he wanted to react, Hollowstorm shot over to him and started snarling. At the other warrior’s words, Slatestripe felt his fury rise and then spill over. He’d tried for so long to keep his emotions about Hollowstorm in check. The tom had worn on him, causing problems that didn’t need to exist and throwing his weight around like he was leader.

The tom set his pelt down, preparing to defend himself. As he did, Blossomflight came over and defended him. He felt a rush of appreciation, but he certainly wasn’t going to let her do all the work. It took a lot to get Slatestripe angry, but once he was, he wouldn’t hesitate to let it be known.

Thrusting his muzzle close to the other warrior, he snarled, “Are you implying that I don’t do anything for this Clan? Well, let’s think about that for a moment. Does Slatestripe do anything for his Clan. He helps apprentices train when their mentors aren’t meeting expectations. He organized a battle refresher promptly after the death of the deputy. He diligently trains his apprentice. He’s at every Clan meeting and every Gathering, without causing a ruckus. He helps out in the nursery, guarding and bringing food and changing nests. He volunteered to go fight the rogues. From here, Hollowstorm, it looks like I do a hell of a lot more than you. All I’ve seen you do the past moon is act like you’re some kind of high rank, throwing your weight around and speaking to Pikestar like he’s still an ordinary warrior and not our leader.” His amber eyes blazed with anger.

Blossomflight hissed softly when Hollowstorm licked Bearkit. She watched her mate turn to leave, but stopped him abruptly. "I don't know what I saw in you. You treat my friends like fox dung, and barely come to see me or your own children! Im ashamed to call you my mate." She spat, curling her tail tighter around Bearkit. "Don't come back. Don't talk to me or my children ever again." The molly hissed, ears pinned against her head.

Slatestripe kept his fierce gaze on Hollowstorm as he silently licked his son and then started to leave. The warrior said nothing more to him. He didn’t have anything more to say. Any shred of respect he may have had for the other tom had been reduced to dust. No cat was going to get away with implying he was a bad warrior. Especially not Hollowstorm.

He looked over as Blossomflight told him to never speak to her or their kits again. This surprised him; he’d figured that they’d work it out, as they always seemed to. Even though Slatestripe wasn’t a fan of Hollowstorm in the slightest, he understood that Blossomflight had loved him. Why, he wasn’t sure. But, she had. Still, he supposed the cat’s lack of presence and general dumbassery was enough to thaw even the warmest love.

Meanwhile, Bearkit had watched the whole ordeal with wide, unblinking eyes. The little kit trembled as Hollowstorm gave him a lick. To the young kit, this cat seemed bad. Blossomflight had struck him, and so that must mean he was bad. A queen told Bearkit once that cats only unsheathed their claws when they were fighting an enemy.

Was he actually Bearkit’s dad? Bearkit didn’t want him to be. He could tell that Hollowstorm made his mom upset, and he didn’t like that. He made Slatestripe upset, too, and he didn’t like that, either. He hoped Hollowstorm didn’t come back. The tiny kit pressed closer to his mom’s legs.

Hollykit flicked his eyes back to the other kit "Nice to meet you Ivorykit... have you seen my mom... Sourpatch? i can't hear her anywhere nearby or smell her for that matter and was only wondering so i don't have to ask to go play" the kit amiled "that is if you'd like to play?"
