Tips on writing trans... cats?
So I'm creating a new character and one of the things that will happen in their
life is them figuring out they're trans (MtF) (don't worry that won't be the only
thing about them), I've already read about how to write it better but if you
have any tips that'd be greatly appreciated
Also if you could include if you're trans or cis that'd be nice (not forcing you,
I just want to know if you're speaking from experience )

Re: Tips on writing trans... cats?
One major issue with trans people (or cats) is that their parents or siblings dont accept them. Being trans myself, and having my parents and sister not accept me, I know how this feels. It should depress the cat, and delay their actual pronoun and/or name change, because they feel they should listen to their parents. (unless they're warrior-aged already.) @Singing Jay

Re: Tips on writing trans... cats?
Hey @Singing Jay ! I'm transmasc, thought I'd share a few tips! Don't make it their entire personality - it's an important part of their identity, not their personality. Second, it's possible for them to develop mental disorders. It's not unheard of for them to develop gender dysphoria [extreme discomfort with their assigned gender at birth, their bods their assigned pronouns or name, etc.] depression, or anxiety related disorders. Them being trans is not a disorder ofc. That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but if you ever have questions I'm open!

[insert thumbs up emoji here]
(But yes, Ive tried to ignore the fact that they'll be trans when creating a personality and then kinda add that, if that makes seance. Im not sure if I'll do any mental illness yet but I'll think about it)

Re: Tips on writing trans... cats?
Hmmm, my best tip is to have them figure out slowly over time, like little tid-bits here and there, not just making it some 'grand-reveal' to them with seemingly 0 clues, as a demigirl, it feels a bit unrealistic to really have no build-up too it whatsoever.
Of course, this goes with any form of LGBTQ+

Yeh I've been thinking about that, like have them not referring to them self as male in their own thoughts and not mentioning their gender(before they come out that is) when they introduce themselves. But if anyone has any ideas for that, tell me!
