Character of the Month (September 2022)

Welcome to Character of the Month, a feature designed to recognize two characters who deserve kudos!

Using the form found at the bottom of this post, you may nominate two Main Roleplay characters you think deserved to be featured! Please use one form per character - they should not be in the same form.

For the sake of giving every character a chance, avoid nominating cats who have already been nominated for the month.

Nominations will be held for approximately 1 week, ending on the 22nd. Once it ends, a poll will be posted displaying the names of the characters who qualify for voting.

Users can vote for as many characters as they want to be recognize, provided it is not their own character. It is discouraged to vote for every character listed, as only two will win.

If two characters have the most votes, but they are roleplayed by the same person, the winner will be picked by staff based on the nomination reasons, and the second winner will default to the next highest vote.

The voting period will end on the last day of the month, and the results will be posted on the 1st of the new month.

Before you nominate, please keep these in mind.

• Characters should have been roleplayed within the last two weeks of being nominated to avoid inactive characters being featured.
  
  
• You may not nominate your own characters, or advertise your characters to gain nominations.
  
  
• Characters used to violate a roleplay rule cannot be voted for the month they broke the guideline. They will be omitted from the final polling.
  
  
• Nominations must include an explanation of why the character deserves recognition. Posts that do not provide a reasoning will be removed. Additionally, be thorough in your evaluation of the character. Vague or thoughtless statements (e.g. "they're cool") will result in your nomination being discarded. We want to know why you think this cat deserves attention!
  
  
• You may nominate two characters, but avoid nominating characters who have already been nominated.

Why should this character be featured?: Flickerpaw is perhaps one of the most complex, in-depth characters I have ever read about. She has so much inner monologue but on the outside appears as a calm, cool, and collected apprentice who is steadfast and loyal to her Clanmates first and foremost. Watching how she tries to fly under the radar and remain behind a safety wall with her Clanmates while also secretly yearning for connection with them is both beautiful and heartbreaking to read. Xath does a marvelous job in roleplaying this balance and I cannot wait to see how Flickerpaw develops!

Why should this character be featured?: A rather grumpy cat, I always find myself chuckling when reading through Gingerfrost posts. He seems a bit cold and closed-off on the outside but that doesn't interfere with his deeply rooted loyalty to RiverClan. Always one of the first cats to throw himself into the fray, watching him step up and take charge feels like I'm watching an action movie. Estelle does a wonderful job at potraying his character and I always look for posts or roleplays he's in to read more about his story!

Why should this character be featured?: Rainhound is such a good mix of character. One side of her is great and happy, while the other side of her is sad and angry. I really like her character and what she does to her clan is phenomenal. Marina roleplays her very well, along with that Rainhound played a big part in helping out ThunderClan when they weren't doing so well. She's just a good cat.

Why should this character be featured?: Bushtuft's also a great ThunderClan cat and is a large mix of character. Bushtuft is role-played very well and his effect on his clan really makes his story better. He's also a very good cat, he also played a big part in getting rid of Dawnstar.

Why should this character be featured?: I absolutely have adored watching Stormpaw grow throughout the months that she's been around. This is probably one of the toughest cats on wco, because she's gone through so, so much and still keeps going. I totally admire how Marina portrays her deep rooted strength and loyalty, even through all the trauma she's gone through throughout her life.

Why should this character be featured?: OMG where to start XD Evermore does a really good job with fireflymeadow, with evermore having lots of words and expressing fireflymeadow it literally helps me know how to have my character react, i love how she roleplays fireflymeadow it makes me feel encouraged

Why should this character be featured?: Cowpaw is a really good med cat if any cat gets mad at Cowpaw I'd flip and get upset! Cowpaw has a kind heart he really calms scalepaw down after the monster incident, Cowpaw is a loyal and gentle cat i can't blame him for anything he knows herbs, x ghostie sure knows how to calm kits and apprentices down and know what to say to them i love reading x ghostie's post there so amusing to me

Why should this character be featured?: Let me start by saying this- don't let Mistlekit's disability fool you. She's a fun character to read- always trying to return the favor to her friends and absolutely obsessed with befriending any bug that comes her way. All of the lines written have a sense of eagerness to them, and I think Mushroom portrays her mind and actions well.

Why should this character be featured?: Firekit has a wonderful personality and her owner does characterize it wonderfully. Roleplaying with her has helped me to let my character's personality (Milkkit) start to develop more and more, and it's always great to write for her.

Why should this character be featured?: This cat has been around for almost a year now, and the fact that she hasn't won yet baffles me. She... is just so cute. Like, what else do I need to say, go read one of her posts, it won't take much to convince you. From having been brought into Riverclan by Kestrelstar, growing up, and eventually understanding how the world works more, dying and coming back to life, to now organizing flower events and keeping the clan together while trying to recover from her own trauma. She is kind and happy, but sensitive and very empathetic despite everything.

A creature of hugs, flowers, and watching the pretty sunset - a true buddy.

Why should this character be featured?: they grumpy but cool cat that put's up with Duskwatchers odd ramblings to often, and is rightfully angry with Dusk, but i love doing those interactions, their funny in a way.

Why should this character be featured?: Wolfsong. I absolutely love Wolf. Wolf has some much emotional angst yet fluff mixed into every post,This results in how Wolfsong is so perfectly detailed. Riz writes a wonderful character,Wolfsong is something You can truly never wrap your head around completely. Wolf song is such a detailed character and her development is something I truly do enjoy reading regardless of dark at times it can be. Riz writes Wolf to be this (I would say) emotional character that holds a heavy moral compass,even to the point of Wolfsong feeling guilt over a lover that had passed away. Wolf has interesting flaws yet she also has very powerful moments which you can see mainly in Her posts.
