A she-cat walked through the dark forest, her paws carefully finding their way through the undergrowth. The trees towered above her, their branches reaching out like gnarled hands, their leaves rustling in the night breeze. All around her the darkness seemed to press in, and she felt the familiar prickle of fear on her fur.
The she-cat kept walking, her ears perked for any sign of companionship, but there was only silence. She had been walking for what seemed like hours, and yet she had no idea where she was or how she had gotten here.
The she-cat paused, her eyes widening as she heard a noise in the distance. She froze, her heart pounding in her chest as she strained to make out what the noise was. It sounded like a voice, but it was too far away to tell who it belonged to.
The she-cat took a deep breath and continued walking. She kept her eyes and ears open, but the darkness seemed to swallow everything up. As she walked, she thought about how scared she was and how alone she felt.
The she-cat stopped abruptly as a clearing opened up in front of her. She could see a small house in the center, surrounded by trees. It was the only sign of life she had seen in hours, and she felt a spark of hope inside her.
