Bumblepaw ducked, narrowly evading the paw reaching for his head with a scowl. First a traitor of a mentor, and now an over-hyper child. Being stuck with Cinderpaw again wasn't too bad, though, and he was - oddly enough - glad that she wasn't as opposed to their pairing as she was last time... but still. Was it too much to ask to get through his training quickly? "No promises," he muttered in response to Dripberry.

He stood up straight again and shook out his fur. "Tawnybird," came the bitter reply, nose screwing up in agreement with Cinderpaw. "Made traitorous remarks, lost his nose, made no effort to teach us anything, and then dipped out. Not very surprising, if I'm being honest."

Oh, and there it was. He shot Cinderpaw a narrow look, eyes flashing with a challenge. "I'm not, but I bet you are. Dripberry, I would love to take a trip to Firefly Cove.

Oh hey the cat actually responded. Most cats would just push her away, but this cat was actually going to try and answer her questions. Pondkit grew excited. This was going to be the best chat ever. No one could ever tell her other wise. That is until this conversation got boring.

"The first question I have is is it hard to be an apprentice. I heard it can be difficult. I just hope it won't be too difficult. Also does an apprentice have to go in battle to become a warrior. It kind of scares me to think about it.", she meowed. Pondkit heard many stories and it frightened her a bit.

Dimhazel tilts their head as they thought. It had actually been awhile since they were an apprentice, but they didn't remember it being too terribly difficult, actually. They'd quickly grapsed the training that was required once it was explained to them, but they supposed they could see why some might think it difficult. Had they not had the lovely mentor they'd be assigned to, things would have been much more difficult for them.
"Not terribly so. The training is simple to grasp, I found, but everyone is different. It would also depend on your mentor, but overall, I don't believe you should have too many troubles when you become an apprentice yourself. You have quite a bright mind, no doubt you'll catch on."
They took a moment to think about her other question. Although they have seen apprentices participate in real battles, they were almost always much older and more skilled. They'd never seen a fresh faced apprentice be knowingly sent to fight.
"Only ever the much older apprentices, but at their request usually. A fresh apprentice would be a hindrance in battle and not worth risking the loss. You do not have to worry about being sent before you are ready."
When no more questions came, they glanced away and back at Pondkit to force their attention to stay focused on the conversation in case she had anymore questions.
"Anything else you would like to ask? You are not intruding, so do not feel that you must hold back."

Lionsmoke strolled into the den, a casual yet cocky grin on his face. "Houndpaw!" he called. "Are you up?" He'd planned for an engaging yet easy lesson, all the better to start with. Easy so she could master it and feel amazing about herself, but engaging so she wouldn't get bored. She was that student who got so bored in class, but yet was the coolest kid around. Obviously, his apprentice would be the coolest.

CrowKit needed at the ground nervously. Truth was, CrowKit just remembered waking up one day and when from queen to queen, nursing as need be before he'd fall back asleep!

It was strange, Clearlight was never one to make rash decisions. She had always prided herself on being the calm and collected one, Darkmoon had always been the rash, impulsive one. But she got it out before she could hesitate any longer. "Crowkit, if you want, I could be your adoptive aunt of sorts."

CrowKit spoke without thinking. It's true that he wished he had some family within the camp but this is something viable. this is something real.
is this the start of all of that?

(ngl i was gonna ask you if you would be down to have Clearlight as his adoptive mom but this works lol)

Clearlight licked Crowkit's ear affectionately. She then yawned. She had tried to stay awake as long as possible, but now fatigue was wearing down on her. Would Starclan send her a sign in her dreams tonight? She hoped so. Or maybe she would see Darkmoon-

Clearlight shook her head. She couldn't think about her mate. She shouldn't. "I'm a little sleepy, Crowkit. I think I'll rest now. Clearlight yawned, padding slowly over to her nest."Good night, Crowkit." She called over her shoulder.

Aster -- no, no Cloverkit -- oh gosh darnit, Lotuspaw -- would like to say that life was highly unfair and if anyone begged to differ they were either a newborn or extremely stupid. If these big cats had some sort of name changing record they were now going to make a point to break it. Lotuspaw, even if that wasn't their name, actually quite liked having a name with meaning. The only reason they allowed Aster to be taken from them was for their siblings but they couldn't,, couldn't hold on to anything. They were frustrated.

Unfortunately Lotuspaw was going to have to plan their revolution with the kits at a later date. Rosepaw was currently free whether she liked it or not and they needed to have a mature discussion. Cue excited screeching.

"ROSEPAW!" Lotuspaw screamed out the moment the meeting had ended and cats were beginning to return back to their previous activities. Their copper eyes glanced around the clearing, bouncing up and down with excitement. Sagekit was uhm, not here!! Er,, that kinda sucked but it was okay!!! Just.. just meant he was safe and.. ugh, Lotuspaw made a mental note to check up on them.

The moment Rosepaw came into sight, Lotuspaw began to run full-speed at her. Paws kicking up dirt with a wide and goofy grin slapped onto their features. "I'm an apprentice!! I'M AN APPRENTICE!! DID YOU SEE? LOOOOK!!" And followed by extreme amount of giggling once they came to a halt.

Rosepaw felt slightly bad for Lotuspaw. That was a lot of name-changing. Aspenstar had just taken her regular name and added a suffix. She hoped it didn't bother them too much, though. And by the look of them, it seemed not.

Rosepaw never quite understood how her sibling could be so happy. Perhaps bad things didn't happen to them as often. At least she didn't have to be alone in the apprentices' den anymore. Although she'd probably have to stay away from them during training, lest something happened. There were a lot of dangers out on the territory, all fixated on Rosepaw.

"Yes, I saw. Pity for the name though, I felt that one stuck. Either way, I'm glad not to be alone anymore." she said sadly.

She was having a great dream. About Dogspirit. Again. So maybe not THAT great, a dream that depressing but it felt real. Like reality was different, changed to a future with her mother actually in it. And 'dream Houndpaw' didn't even stop to think about how impossible it was for her mom to be here. So she almost (not really, but sort of) welcomed Lionsmoke's voice breaking though the scene. But she stuck out a paw, as if to shove him away, and keep herself asleep longer. "No." She muttered, unfortunately waking up. There was still sorrow like a stone sitting in her heart, but it was so old, the sorrow was, that she hardly recognized it. Like it was just a part of her now.

She drearily looked up at her mentor, blinking the sleep away. "Well... I am now." Houndpaw noted her messy fur and shrugged. Who was she getting all fancy for? So she just brushed it down with a quick swipe of her paw. There, she was presentable. "What are we doing today?"
