Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
Dimhazel lay curled up in the clearing, soaking up a few rays of sun, eyes closed and ears swiveling to follow the sounds of passing cats. Perhaps this was why they hadn't been aware of the kit sneaking up on them until she spoke.
They slowly opened their eyes, squinting down at the kitten in from of them.
Deciding to humor her, they slowly flutter their eyes open to look at Pondkit properly, though not sitting up so they remained at eye level with her. "Ask away, little one. I don't know how much I will be of help, but I can try."
-->Pondkit
Oh hey the cat actually responded. Most cats would just push her away, but this cat was actually going to try and answer her questions. Pondkit grew excited. This was going to be the best chat ever. No one could ever tell her other wise. That is until this conversation got boring.
"The first question I have is is it hard to be an apprentice. I heard it can be difficult. I just hope it won't be too difficult. Also does an apprentice have to go in battle to become a warrior. It kind of scares me to think about it.", she meowed. Pondkit heard many stories and it frightened her a bit.

Coming back only to get Barleypaw into warriorhood, but then I most likely will be leaving entirely. I've spend too much time on her to not have her be a warrior and I'd like to get her there.
Despite his exclusion from those he had deemed unfit to loiter in his presence, Scorchfrost had been versed in initiating conversation and presenting a front of professionalism and decency. He kept his animosity at bay, restraining the hiss that bubbled in the back of his throat every time he considered the new cats intruding upon his home. He sat back, keeping his fur flat against his pine and claws sheathed. It was beyond the tomcat's control to who and what was invited into the Clan, and although he felt strongly against the involvement of outsiders, he was not in a position to debate. Not that he suspected Aspenstar to entertain his thoughts either. She was soft, at least, to him she was. Her willingness to bend to the suggestions of others made him wary, unsure if she would be fully certain in her ideals. But alas, he remained silent, not speaking yet against her word of authority. Though, if time called for it, Scorchfrost ensured he would.
"My family?" The chocolate tabby echoed the words aloud, a fissure of amusement caressing his eye as he met the ones of Sparrowflight. Oh, what to say in regards to his many relatives... There was certainly a lot, and his father had taken pride in the offspring he conceived up until his later moons. Eveningnight - the sire to Scorchfrost and his many kin - was a respectable and noble warrior who walked the grounds of ThunderClan for many moons, he fought courageously and was an efficient strategist when it came to the battlefield. Scorchfrost had desired to achieve the same recognition his father possessed since he was still in the Nursery, and perhaps it had been his continuous awe of Eveningnight that led to him being hand-chosen as the future successor of his family name.
Scorchfrost grinned.
Sweeping his tail along the red and orange hues of the autumn floor, the tomcat raised his head to view the clouds passing by. He looked reminiscent, clicking his velvet tongue with the roof of his mouth before issuing a response. "I have much kin," He admitted. "And we are all quite close. Our father was... more or less a proud warrior, he had many children in hopes of continuing his legacy for moons to come. Unfortunately, he had passed before he could see any grandchildren, though his spirit looks down on us from the Stars, and I plan to make it proud." His words were honest, noble even. There was a specific pride that was shown in the sapphire gems of the ThunderClan warrior when he spoke of his relatives. And, of course, the yearn of continuing the line of his father hadn't ended with him - Scorchfrost, too, awaited eagerly the day until he could possess a mate and kits of his own. Though, that, he had kept to himself.
"And what of your father?" Scorchfrost asked, an attempt to be polite to the other feline. "Has he passed too? Surely, he must have been an equally proud tom to have sired a cat as tactful as yourself."
Well, family seemed to be as good a topic as any for this cat. Sparrowflight watched him with interest as the tom in front of her seemed to soften as they thought back to their younger years. They seemed to have had a well rounded upbringing and STRONG family values that the younger she-cat could admire. Glancing up to the sky as Scorchfrost mentioned his father, Sparrowflight dared to wonder whether or not her parents walked with Starclan as well. Her biological mother hadn't held many beliefs in that regard, or at least none that she outwardly spoke of. Coming to Thunderclan as a kit, however, had nurtured her own beliefs in the cats passed on that watched over her and her companion's daily lives and struggles.
Her father...
"I never knew my father," Sparrowflight stated, still gazing at the sky rather wistfully. "My mother never spoke of him, and he didn't deem it necessary to be a part of my life growing up." Would it have been nice to have a father figure as she grew? Probably, but Mistyshade was more than kind to her growing up and supported her throughout her kit-hood and right up until now as a warrior. Glancing back to the tom beside her, the she-cat's eyes glimmered in thanks as she smiled at compliment to her qualities. "But I admire your desire to make your father and the rest of your family proud. It is a noble goal, and I'm sure he is pleased with your drive to do so."
Shifting her eyes to glance back at her sisters before returning to Scorchfrost's gaze with a soft smile, Sparrowflight adjusted her paws underneath her and thought about her own goals. She hadn't really had many after completing her warrior ceremony. She had earned her full name, could beat most cats in Thunderclan in a race through the forest, and now had two wonderful sisters to help grow into valued members of her clan.
"Right now, my goals lie with helping to train those two rascals into proper warriors," she said, amusement plain in her voice as she flicked her tail towards the new apprentices. "But, after that who knows what Thunderclan will be in need of."
' 'It is Softpaw, you were literally at the meeting I was apprenticed at which you, by the way, contributed into making terrible.' '
She caught onto the fact that Yarrowshade was mocking her, to be fair, who wouldn't? Honestly, she would've pointed out the fact that Yarrowshade was wasting her time bullying an apprentice if it wasn't for Softpaw being a bit too annoyed to think about it, thankfully, the apprentices tone was only passive-aggressive, and not full on aggressive, which the young apprentice wanted to keep it as such.

Yarrowshade lifted an eyebrow and scowled. Her tail lashed irritably behind her. Terrible? Everyone else was making it terrible! It wasn't exclusively her fault. And, besides, she lived to be terrible. At least someone noticed. Man, Yarrowshade's villain carreer was really going downhill. The best she could muster was bullying teens. "Oh, please, kits get apprenticed at every meeting, it's not a special occasion. Everyone gets it eventually. That meeting had nothing to do with you abd I don't see why you're complaining. "
Softpaw decided to hand her a nice, gentle reminder. ' 'Okay sure, kits get apprenticed every meeting, and the meeting wasn't specifically for me, or even my peers, but it was an important moment to us, and I think I speak for all of my fellow apprentices and even the kits when I say everyone wants their apprentice ceremony to go well, and before you begin whining saying others made it terrible too, I know, that's why I said you contributed, which means help or assist.' '
She knew she was being bullied, and was she feeding into it, kind of, but at least she wasn't backing down and letting this cat stomp all over her like a small mouse. Although, part of her insecurities did begin popping up, as she was wondering if she was letting her ego get the best of her here, was she...thinking for just herself?

"I-I'm fine." CrowKit mewed. He wasnt surprised at how ClearLight was acting. After all, she was going to be a mother soon! It was onky natural for her to act the was she did.
What did surprise CrowKit was that he realized that he was instinctively moving back to her side, basking in her warmth while licking the water out of his fur. "are you alright? Dont want you and your kits to freeze." CrowKit mewed, akwardly laughing all the while.
(Hey sorry for the late reply. I didnt see your mention and i was waiting for the notification lol)

(Always looking for friends. Bump me in 24 hours.)
Softpaw was pulling some logic nonsense on her. She knew very well what she did and honestly wished she'd done more. This was her meeting too, you know. "Regardless of what happened before you got apprenticed, you got a mentor anyway. Even if the whole meeting had erupted into flames you probably would have gotten one privately after wards. I don't see what you're upset about. From what I remember, you were shouting at everyone and throwing a little baby tantrum and adding to the chaos." she scoffed.
Aspenstar's eyes softened with sympathy for the apprentice. Poor Aspenpaw, he seemed to be having a pretty rough time. She had had a similar experience during her own apprenticeship, but her appetite had certainly not been affected. Worry creased her face, and she gestured for the young tom to sit down beside her. That was quite the list of issues.
"I'm sorry you have to go through all of this, Aspenpaw." She said at last, frowning. How would this situation be resolved? She thought for a moment. "It must be hard to have a father who's not around, and one who isn't a good role-model. But there are other cat's you can look up to, that you can mold yourself after." She wasn't a medicine cat, but she was sure that the sleeping issue could be resolved. Not easily, but over time.
"Why do you think you're having this trouble sleeping? Nightmares? Stress?"
For the last one, she wasn't sure how she could help. Should she ask a bunch of apprentices to just be his friend? No, that was embarrassing and the "help" would not be appreciated. "Just... erm... find a good crowd to run with. Your sister... maybe you can help out some of the newer apprentices.... I mean, you can always just hang out with me, but I'm not the coolest cat ever, and quite busy most of the time.... but it could be a possible backup plan. Just thinking out loud, of course."
Stars above, these two were quite the duo. Aspenstar listened silently to both side, paying more attention to Goldeneyes's side, because as much as she wanted to give Cloverkit the benefit of the doubt, she also knew that the most valid and correct story would come from the senior warrior, not the rebellious kit. Nodding as the speaking concluded, she smiled at both of them.
"Well, than you both for bringing this to my attention." She glanced at Goldeneyes, mostly thanking her, but including Cloverkit, if only to save her ears from the kit's intolerable whining that would probably ensue. "I appreciate it."
As Cloverkit back away, ready to skedaddle, she placed a paw down firmly. "No, Cloverkit. You broke the rules, and you endangered yourself. You will have to be punished. That's how it goes. You feel as if you are old enough to stray from camp, so you are also mature enough to do the elder's ticks for a moon. With NO complaining." She couldn't suppress the sparkle of amusement in her eyes. Never a dull moment with Cloverkit. Luckily, there was Goldeneyes to keep the kit safe, but it wasn't the senior warrior's job to watch the kit, hopefully they would learn some discipline during their tick-duty.
Of course, Aspenstar was fully aware this wasn't the worst punishment, the elders liked to tell stories, but they were technically a first time offender, so she would go easy on them.
"Alrightie, then. If that's all..." Was there something else the queen wanted to add? Aspenstar gestured towards the den exit, not wanting to be impolite... but still, there were other things for her to do, and if she just mindlessly conversed with everyone who wanted to talk to her, then where would she be? Not being very productive... but that wouldn't matter if the conversation was meaningful.
The pawsteps made it clear to Aspenstar that she was going to have a visitor, so she had a few seconds to prepare. Then, one of her senior warriors, Geckoleap, entered the den, and she smiled. "Morning, Geckoleap. How can I help you?" She wondered what the warrior could possibly want. Hmmm...

She hadn't expected a visit from her cousin today. It was, nonetheless, very welcome, as the mouse was dropped at her paws, she smiled. "Oh, Lionsmoke. You, of all cats, know that the way to my heart is food." It was meant as a joke... a joke, but not really a joke, because her words were true. Her love language was food, and it was ridiculous to think that.
"Oh, you know, of course it is." Aspenstar chuckled, trying not to expose the mouthful of food she had in her mouth while her jaws parted to speak. "You've been here, you tell me. The Clan will be dramatic for as long as it exists."
My, my. The cats in this Clan, always needing something. She chuckled at her own thoughts. It was... sad that she had to rely on her crappy sense of humor to bring her joy, and she shook her head slightly. Looking up as Oakfur entered, she nodded to him. "Of course, Oakfur. What is it that you need?"

Even if Flowerkit couldn't see her sisters reaction but she could feel how excited her littler mate got. It wasn't quite the same way Flowerkit had reacted when she got the news the two had an adopted sibling. But the two litter-mates were different in their energy, of which Brightkit had a lot more.
The soft-furred kit's thoughts were interrupted by Aspenstar continuing the ceremonies. Ivykit to Ivypaw, Springkit to Springpaw, her sister Brightkit to Brightpaw... Houndkit to Houndpaw and.... ... Flowerkit. That was her name! "Thank Starclan" Her mew was more a sigh then anything else, she was just so relived that she got to become an apprentice. The blind cat had honestly thought she wouldn't be allowed to leave her kit rank because of her...different eyes.
--
Brightki- well she was Bightpaw now seemed to get a good mentor. Newtheart was kind, and after the time he had Mistyshade had spent together Flowe- Tulippaw had a feeling the two would soon be more then just clan-mates. She was glad for her sister, but a ball of fear still weighed like a stone in her belly. She didn't know who Ravenstorm, her mentor know was.
But she soon found out when a new scent arrived and she could feel another nose against hers. That must be them. She was about to greet them when the cloud of scent began to move away without a single word. Stress and nervousness began to bubble inside her again as she rushed after them, doing her best not to trip on things or lose her mentors scent and paw steps.
As they finally sat down she settled beside them and smiled in towards where she hoped their eyes were. Would they be fine with her... well being blind? Aspenstar didn't seem to care about it, either was her own family but what about others? She swallowed quietly to herself before taking an even quieter breath, and opening her mouth. "..." And closing it again as no words came out. What would they talk about? Training? O-or just get to know each other? What did mentors and apprentices talk about? "So your Ravenstorm." She mewed calmly, hiding the turmoil inside her. That was a good begging wasn't it? A sort of greeting. "I think we could start with a hunting lesson after this meeting maybe?"Will they even train me? They didn't seem so talkative but at least this was a good point to start.
