He had to stifle a chuckle when his own son padded over to scold him. Bringing his gaze back to the middle of the clearing, Hawkblaze watched stoically. "Don't get me wrong, kit, it is a shame to lose a powerful warrior. It's just also not the first time we've lost a powerful or influential warrior. They disappear or die all the time. Sometimes they even come back. Who knows, maybe he will too. Yet we make no effort to find those who have disappeared, we just accept it as it is. Why should death be any different?"
His voice was a hushed, whispered reply. After all, it didn't seem like death was permanent. Seemed more like a fancy nap.
Rainshock clenched his jaw. He was thirteen moons - a warrior, mind you - and yet dear old Dad still insisted on calling him "kit". He sucked in a deep breath, let it out through his nose, to still his frustration. "Doesn't matter if it's the first time or the hundredth time. Doesn't change the fact that some cats are losing a loved one today, and many others a role model." He turned his head to stare down at Hawkblaze, blue eyes flashing, tone still hushed out of respect. "The least you could do is roll your eyes somewhere grieving cats can't see. It comes off as callous and frankly, it's gross behavior."
Sometimes Rainshock just couldn't believe he was related to this guy.

A brisk breeze fanned across the lean she-cat's muzzle and she breathed in any scents that were brought with it. The one-eyed leader didn't catch anything out of place and so carried on with her walk. She found herself out in the territory more often than not these past few days because she was actually looking for cats other than her missing clanmates. The eldest leader was a little bit antsy, she was a little bit worried about the meeting she had called for the rest of the clan leaders. Not that it was going to go wrong, but more if they couldn't agree on anything. It was hard enough getting them to all agree on anything at the gathering. However, they wouldn't have all their clanmates around or random cats causing havoc if it was just a few gathering cats.
Dawnstar, although less hostile, was still very much a threat, not to her right this second but one wrong word from the other two clans and it'd be bloodshed and violence all over again. Then there was Skystar, Twilightstar still was not completely certain about what to make of him. He was obviously inexperienced in leading, the mistakes in his announcement during the gathering told her enough so, but he was trying so that was something. She didn't really like how the new leader let his new deputy undermine him, but that was a personal issue of hers and not a matter she'd be bringing up unless asked. Skystar seemed very committed in keep this fight with ThunderClan going, and she wasn't sure if he'd be trying to get Firefly Cove back from ThunderClan or not. Even so, seeing how thankful he was to WindClan for the aid even if he hadn't won made her hope he'd at least try and listen when it came to setting this feud aside.
Then there was ThunderClan, though they were clearly making progress with restoring their clan to glory, she couldn't say she felt that picking a fight over territory when they hadn't gotten their ranks sorted out had been the greatest plan of action. Their prickly tone with Dawnstar because they hadn't liked her pointing out an obvious issue that the rest of the clans had been ignored also concerned her. ThunderClan seemed a little hotheaded to her, quick to pick fights with whoever for whatever reason. Unless it was Dawnstar she was dealing with, who simply lived for battle and did not care for the collater damage or the lives that were lost in the pursuit of it, RiverClan and ThunderClan should be able to sort out their issues without tooth and claw. Or at least Twilightstar would try and make them see reason. Twilightstar suddenly realized that she was weight this meeting on the respect and the reputation she's built as WindClan's leader....
Oh? Nose twitching as the scent of ThunderClan tickled her nostrils, Twilightstar padding down a hillside and peered across the moor until she located a cream and brown she-cat. Twilightstar picked up her pace as she came up behind the she-cat, making her paw steps louder than she would have normally to alert the molly of her presence. "Sparrowflight," Twilightstar greeted as she veer around the warrior to stand in front of her. "You must be ThunderClan's deputy then?" Twilightstar asked bluntly, drawing the assumption from the fact that ThunderClan didn't normally run around trespassing in WindClan territory and that Sparrowflight's arrival coincided with Twilightstar's invitation for the deputies to enter her territory.
~ Sparrowflight ~
The pleasantness of the breeze curling around her cooled her paws as she groomed them; the rasp of her tongue brought new needles of unpleasant heat to the injured pads (which she stubbornly ignored), but the sound of paw-steps behind her was what really gave her reason to pause her ministrations and gently bring her leg back down to the moorland below her.
Brown ears flicked up and her head turned to give Twilightstar a respectful dip of her head as she came into view and greeted her. How in the stars did she manage to appear out of nowhere when her territory consisted of open plains??? Attempting to keep her expression professional, the younger molly did her best not to let her surprise show on her face and focused more on the heat spreading across her pelt as she was recognized as Thunderclan's deputy.
"You would be correct in your assumption," she stated with another brief nod towards the experienced leader. "I was appointed by Cinderstar recently, and have been sent to gather the details for the meeting you proposed at the Gathering."
She was just supposed to show up right? There was no need to bring any prey as a sign of good-faith or anything right??? Oh stars above, hopefully she hadn't just wandered into Windclan's territory to offend their leader with her inexperience...

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
Fernpaw's eyes snapped open and he lurched forward, hunched over as he coughed and sputtered out an obscene amount of water and fluid. He felt sick, was shaky, and so cold. His pelt was clumpy from semi-dried water, like someone had pulled him from the river and left him to drip out onto the ground.
But somehow, he doubt that happened. He didn't know why he was on the cliffs now, he honestly felt too tired to care. Fernpaw staggered away from the distasteful pile to sink into the grass a few fox-lengths away. The gagging had subsided though his stomach hurt, and his throat and lungs burned. maybe a nap would help?
Bravebird
Worry. That was what had creased her every thought as her paws carried her tirelessly across the moorland. While the Clan ran on like normal, Bravebird was fretting over the lack of Fernpaw in WindClan. She hadn't heard his voice or seen his familiar brown tabby pelt for awhile - long enough to render her officially concerned. She avoided bringing it up to Twilightstar or Fallownose for the time being, simply because she didn't wish to put such a splotlight on the young tom. What if he was just out for a walk? He was definitely the age of a warrior - stars, she had been younger than him when she had been given her name.
...But the nagging feeling that something had occurred did not let her rest, so here she was going from one patch of heather to the next. Her blue eyes remained wide, sweeping across the moorland for any indication of the young tom.
Thankfully, movement of tall stocks of heather caught her eye and Bravebird sprinted over, running as if she were chasing a family of hares. Upon reaching her destination she made out the ruffled and clumped pelt of her apprentice. The sight of him was startling. Semi dried fur, shaky muscles and eyes that showed just how exhausted he must be.
"Fernpaw!" Relief and shock and worry all were insulated within her words as she instantly snaked around him. He felt cold and she went to work brushing his fur the wrong way with her tongue to warm him up. "What... happened... to... you?" she asked in between strokes, refusing to move away even if he pushed her. Guilt pierced her heart as she knew this was somewhat her fault. If he had fallen into a stream somewhere, and... there were no streams nearby. Why was he all wet then??
For now she just pushed them away and pressed her head the back of his neck, trying desperately to slow her own nerves. "I'm so sorry - I should have been paying attention!" The image of Softleap's limp body floated in her mind, one of the first cats she had been entrusted in overseeing. That would not be Fernpaw.
Eyes bright, Rainshock slipped into the medicine den. He set down the bunch of flowers clamped in his jaws and peered further in. "Cowpaw?" he called out, softly. "I brought you a few gifts! Thought your den could use them."
He'd already dropped a few of them off at his own nest, but the three he had left - all large daisies - would be right at home in the medicine den.

fireflame sighed" ok well your siblings will be outside with me come outside when you want to i'll be watching" she says then heading out of the nursery with her kits
It was a relief, Deadmoon supposed, that she wasn’t the only one with a few nerves hopping about in her belly. At Rookscreech’s words she gave a forced chuckle, sound harsh even to her own ears. I’m more barfing intestines than jumping about I think. she replied, tail swishing lightly behind her. Any possibility of further conversation was cut off abruptly only a second later, as a scent well known to Deadmoon came filtering towards them on the wind.
Twilightstar came into view almost exactly as Deadmoon remembered her, regal and composed irrespective of any tiredness or injuries she might carry. The leader’s initial greeting was cold, to be expected. Still, it didn’t help the nervousness that had been building in the molly’s veins, and when she responded her words lacked the measured quality that the leader always seemed to possess.
I, uh, we, wanted to join Windclan. Well that sounded horribly stupid, didn’t it? Mentally scolding herself Deadmoon tried to get back a bit of composure, with next to no success. I didn’t think my loyalty could, uh, fully belong to Windclan when those I cared about were elsewhere, but I understand now how important the clan is, and…..how little purpose I had in my life without it. Ok so a BIT of that was a lie, Rookscreech and Wolfie were also a lot of the meaning in her life, but they were so connected to the clans at this point it was one and the same. It was close enough to the truth without saying how much she cared about a previously Shadowclan friend, and Deadmoon was pretty sure that at this point a bit of deception wasn’t the worst crime she’d ever committed. Looking at her friend with a bit of expectation, she gave Rookscreech the opportunity to add on if she wanted to.
