Fleetsmoke darted in, claws ripping across the beaver's throat. It roared, and she sank her claws deeper. It collapsed beneath her, limp, and she let go. But she didn't let go without noticing that Duckfeather was missing.
''...Duckfeather?'' Fleetsmoke questioned, looking over the river. She saw her Clanmate's familiar form being washed downstream. ''No...No, no, NO! DUCKFEATHER!'' She shrieked, her pale blue eyes widening. ''DUCKFEATHER!''
Fleetsmoke turned to look at Birchfawn and Falconbeak. ''...'' She remained silent for a moment before finally speaking, her voice breaking and filled with grief. ''Duckfeather's...been washed away.''
Pineswipe scoffed at the calico. "Is that really all you think of us?" Then, with a hint of mischief in his eyes, he continued. "Well, I guess you are all just 'fish eaters', then." He stood tall, disguising his limp as much as he could. He needed to act strong for Windclan.
Porcupinequill sneered and turned his nose up. "God, you trout never know how to quit. Do you?" He hissed before turning to his clanmate. "Hey, let's just ignore them, to see how mad they get." (Sorry for the short response)

Featherpaw stood back and watched silently, not sure what to do. She didn't want a fight to break out, but the situation seemed tense.. And of a fight DID break out, what would she do? She didn't know how to fight! She continued standing back, watching silently.
WHAT. HE WAS TRYING TO BE NICE! WHAT WAS THEIR PROBLEM?? Mudhaze bristled indignantly. "WELL BOO YOU TOO!" he shouted across the border, stamping a paw. "BORING! UGH!" With a dramatic whip of his tail, he whirled around. "MY PATROL! WE'RE GOOD HERE, ROLL OUT!"

Pineswipe looked at Porcupinequill as they walked away from the heated conversation. "Sorry, I guess I just have TOO much energy from being stuck in camp from this dumb limp!" He turned his head for a brief moment to look at his leg. It wasn't swollen, that he could tell, but it hurt. He knew that was to be expected, but he was becoming exhausted. He drooped his head. "Let's head back to the camp."
Juniperberry looked up from the sloppy hole he'd dug upon seeing an interesting blue rock in the ground that seemed to glow in his shadow. The tall, bulky tomcat scooped the smooth teal stone up and held it between his canine teeth before reluctantly joining his patrol.
"Dream came up and spray painted her cats on the wall" Sol came up and put some cookies on the ground to munch on. Crane spray painted a rainbow and wrote LGBTQIA+ rights!
Mosspaw bounced over. "Can we gooooo yetttt?" she asked.

The lengthy tom padded forward cautiously, shooting the both of them a silent, crooked, and apologetic smile. Then he remembered Wrenseeker couldn't see said smile, and he wasn't sure how to make that expression known without another seeing it. He pondered over this for an unreasonable amount of time before going back to his usual stressing.
He still wasn't sure how he'd gotten on so many darn patrols, but stars, it was really starting to both boost his ego and wear him down. Like... Why was he being chosen for this stuff? He assumed they just pulled him at random, but it was odd to him. "Uh... Hey there." He greeted awkwardly, waiting for the last of the group.
Featherpaw padded out of the apprentice's den. Stars, she was late once again. She padded quickly up to the patrol. She glanced around. "S- sorry I'm late..." she said softly. She was the last one to arrive. Why was she always late to things??
Wrenseeker
~<>~
12 moons || she/her || RiverClan Warrior || Silver Tongue long furred silver smoke she-cat; blue eyes
The last of the patrol gathers up, and Wrenseeker merely flicks an ear acknowledging they've all gathered and stands to head out. She sticks close to the group, enough so that she's not quite leading but she isn't falling behind, and enough that she isn't pressed right against someone's pelt, but that she's not too far away she can't sense their movements.
Sedgewater valley comes up soon enough, and even from back here, Wrenseeker can hear the water rushing in the gorge. She decides she would actually rather not get all that close, and she hangs back some, scenting the air for WindClan, should they be around anywhere.

Mosspaw bounces after them, tail flicking cheerily.

Deerspark trotted forward, slightly embarrassed that two cats had managed to get in front of him. It's not like he was keeping a steady gait, so he understood why. Once he reached the Windclan border, he looked over it, peering to what lay on the other side of the world to him. It was only a few pawsteps away, yet so different, lined with different lives and different cats, cats he may never meet.
He stared for a moment before looking to the cats gathered. He figured Featherpaw was faltering like he was, no shame in that. "Uh." He began, voice hoarse. "Mosspaw, you can uh... Hm. Mark. Mark... on the left... Wren- Wrenseeker the right." He stammered. This task was more scent based, so he doubted Wrenseeker would have any trouble with it.
He then turned, and marked whatever dwindling scents lingered near the middle, hoping Featherpaw wasn't far behind.
Shuddering slightly as the scent of the river clan washed over him, Whisperinghive cast a quick glance back at the two warriors along with him. Normally we'd split up, but we're sticking together for this one. he grunted, casting a quick glance across the water. He saw no sign of beavers, no sign of Duckfeather either, but one could never be too sure. And as much as he was inclined to trust other warriors, seeing as they'd passed their assessments and therefore should be passably sensible, Fleetsmoke had also been a warrior. A hotheaded one, but pretty active. Trusted enough to lead patrols, and look where she'd ended up.
Heading first downstream apace, to the end of the border, the tom began marking the border. A boulder here, a bush here, all the usual stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary, and stars above it had better stay that way. If it didn't, well, he might just lose his mind. But hopefully it would be fine! Sunstorm and Juniperflower would probably just come along with him, marking their way upstream until they reached the end of the border. @Shadowstar24 @Zelanna

Sunstorm padded after Whisperinghive, marking an occasional bush, tree, rock, and whatever else there was for him to mark. The river was partially covered with a thin, deteriorating sheet of ice. He could hear the river roaring towards the opposite side of the valley. Crack!. Sunstorm jumped at the sound. He noticed a large sheet of ice flowing downriver. "It must've cracked off" he mewed.
