"The...Adder Rocks?" Was this apprentice daring herself to get bit? Adders were coming out early this newleaf, and while Appleshine knew she'd have to take her there eventually....
"Fine. But we are not sticking our noses into any of the cracks. Newleaf means warmth, and warmth means snakes. You are quick, Echopaw, but an adder is quicker, and one bite will drop you dead in less the a heartbeat." Her tone was firm and warning. She simply had to press the potential danger into the subject.
"Follow me," She instructed gently and padded away from the Swooping Cliffs.

Echopaw padded eagerly, yet cautiously to the Adder Rocks. Her tail flicked with nervous excitement, and she jumped on one of the rocks, looking back at her mentor. “Do you think we’ll se an adder?”

(All I'll say is good luck, if Echopaw spies an Adder, she's gonna try to kill it. XD)

Appleshine padded behind Echopaw, warily watching her as she jumped onto one of the rocks. Appleshine wasn't thrilled by the question. "I hope not. An untrained apprentice is no match for an adder. If you see one, you yowl right away, understand?" She narrowed her ice blue eyes. She was NOT in the mood to play around here.

Echopaw nods. “Alright.” Unless she got the opportunity to kill it. Then she’d go ahead and take the chance. Maybe she’d become a warrior sooner. “Have you ever seen an Adder?’ She asks curiously.
(Yep, she’ll probably try to distract it then bite it behind the head. XD)
