Trailing her mentor into Riverclan's territory, Morningpaw scanned around the thick brush, attempting to smell the scent of any prey in the air.
"So, where do you think we should start looking?" She questioned, quickening her pace to match Streampelt's.

Sedgestorm just rolled his eyes at his apprentice and lead her out to the territory. If he had thoughts about maybe catching a few winks of a half doze before, the threat of shredded ears made those thoughts disappear. Perhaps it didn't make himself less tired, sadly, but at least he wasn't in danger of actually falling asleep now.
Once they were decently away from camp, with no risk of some heavy footed wanderer accidentally disrupting their lessons.
"Before you can doing any hunting, you need to know how to stalk prey."
He slipped into a hunter's crouch and looked to her.
"Try matching my stance."

Lakepaw looked at her mentor. "Alright. Seems simple." Immediately she bent down, putting her tail barely on the ground. Her legs bent as she was..nearly in the same position as him. "This good enough?" She honestly didn't that much put..a lot of effort into her crouch. But it seemed close enough!

Sedgestorm glances over her form and slowly straightens himself into a standing position again.
"Good enough. Your stance will improve with practice. When you stalk foward, don't forget to keep your weight evenly balanced."
He looked away and around the area, ears listening for the sound of prey. With the sounds of rustling confirming the presence of prey, he turned back to Reedpaw.
"Now that you have your stance, tell me, can you sense any prey? Don't rely on your sight, listen and smell. Is there anything nearby to hunt?"
Perhaps his method was sloppy, but he found learning by doing was more effective. He'd take the lead if she needed and give pointers if asked, but he was more intrested in seeing if she could do it on her own.

The small molly tilted her head slightly. How in the straight up WORLD was she espoused to find prey without using her eyes, nose, or ears?! She went ahead and shut her eyes, pressing her paws against the ground. Her ears blocked out the sound from around her...easily her pads felt..small pitterpatter movement across the bushes. Immediately she opened up her eyes, looking over towards a bushy area. The tip of her tail turning towards the right. "Over there. I felt the walking of something small with my pawpads."
