And I do need to get control of my emotions. But I can only do that if I have someone with me. I known I'm the DS, but I don't live in the camp." He glanced at the tree. "There's a hole in the tree. Further up. That's where I live. I'm afraid that if I live near other cats, I'll snap and kill them all, just like I did to the Clan cats." He took a deep breath. It felt good to let that all out. Like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

"You- so you didn't kill for Doe." Pastelle ventured first, feeling a shudder run through her body as Slash literally answered the questions she thought of. It was like he read her mind. That was slightly creepy, but... oh, there's worse things than that. "She's the thing that keeps you sane. I'm the thing that keeps you sane." She breathed in sharply.
"But never mind that- you don't have to be sorry for killing Skyfur. She- she's part of the past now. What matters now is the present." Her gaze was plastered up towards the tree that Slash was sitting in.
"Does that mean I should stay with you in that tree?" Her paw reached forwards towards the lowest available branch. It was thin, with no leaves to protect its bare surface. She quickly skimmed her weight along it, pulling herself upwards.

"Yo don have to," Slash meowed. "And Yes, you and Doe are- er, Doe was-the cat that keeps me sane. Without someone to stop me, I'm afriad I'll go mad."

Pastelle nodded, and heaved herself up into the branch, climbing upwards until she was onto the same branch that Slash was on. "Don't get me wrong, I don't mind staying here. The DS dens weren't much of a luxury anyways. I'd rather sleep here than the hunter's den... so much noise throughout the night." She snapped, a little bit to herself.
Now that things were a little bit settled down, Pastelle began to think. How could Slash like her- that seemed like an astonishing feat in itself. Most cats could not stand being around her, and she hardly could stand most of them either...

Slash climbed into a soft mossy nest and scraped together more moss and bracken for Pastelle's nest. "Wow," Slash breathed, swaying on his paw slightly. "I feel... suddenly really tired. I think I'm just gonna take a quick nap..." He sank into his nest and closed his eyes, the scar over his right eye seeming deeper and worse in the shadows.

"Do as you'd like." Pastelle whispered, climbing into the nest with a hint of gratitude. Even so, the molly wasn't accustomed to being at a high elevation. Although the tree wasn't the highest in the woods, it was still quite tall. Taller than what she'd normally prefer. Her orbs scanned the surroundings. So this is what it's like, to be a bird. Sleeping here, away from prowling felines like us that'd murder you...
Unlike Slash, the molly wasn't tired at all. In fact, she was more confused and mystified than anything else. This would be a good time to think about the things she'd done, and wonder if she had just made a couple of grave mistakes.
No, they couldn't be mistakes. And even if they were, there was no turning back. Slash was to be trusted until he turned evil again, although, the rest of the DS cats... oh, they wouldn't care about her. She was just some measly hunter. Nobody would realize that she was missing from the hunter's den.

(And then they do!! Mwahaha! XD))
Slash slept heavily. For the first time, his dreams were peaceful, not filled woth the blood and shrieks of other cats. In this dream, he was just hunting, free as could be. He sighed in his sleep, as small smile on his lips.

Pastelle nodded, and stared out for a while. The ground was so far away from her paws.
After a while, it was a comfort to look at the view. Her body curled up into a laying down position, and her tail flicked against some damp moss. Making sure that the companion was okay, Pastelle's eyes flicked over towards Slash. He was asleep, with his paws twitching a little bit. Looks like a nice dream, she thought wistfully. Pastelle didn't usually remember her mystical visions once she woke up.
Her eyelids became heavy over time, and she closed her eyes. Maybe I should go to sleep now... The molly's tail curled over her body, and her orbs closed.

In the morning, Slash didn't wake up. He stayed asleep. When he did wake up, his fur felt slightly hot, and he blinked and yawned. Climbing out of the hollow, he jumped onto a leafless branch and sat down, gazing out over the territory. He watched the sun rise into the sky and noticed the pinks and purples and orannges that tinted the horizon. He sighed. "Is Doe up there," he thought aloud, "watching over me? Does she still love me?" He looked at his paws and at the ground below. Forbthe first time in moons, he felt like a normal cat, one that didn't go on killing for no reason. He glanced back at the hollow where Pastelle was and then picked his way along the branch until he was at the edge. He peered in at her.

Pastelle opened one eye when she first heard a noise. It was a noise that she faintly remembered. Ah, is that a friend's voice? Her tail unfolded across her body, and she stretched her back up.
Sunlight was pouring across the forest, sweeping through the treetops and illuminating them with a golden glaze. The brown bark of trees were flickering with the radiating light. The evergreen's leaves were transformed from a dull rusty green, to a brilliant dewy blaze.
"Huh?" She said, finally blinking her orbs open and comprehending Slash's comment. "I don't know." The molly whispered, shrugging. She rose up to her paws wearily. Her whole body shook a little bit, from the run-in with the other cats yesterday.

Re: Dusk Syndicate Territory
Frost stalked outside near the Dusk Syndicate's border oddly without his gang with him, he was alone arguing with himself "you aren't needed right now Dred, I know your hungry but I can't do anything about that, we can't just kill someone without planning ahead all right!" Frost yowled furiously, sheathing and unsheathing his claws.
