Survival of the Fishiest: Water Combat Training [ OPEN TO WARRIORS AND APPRENTICES* ]

Tensions were rising, bubbling up and nearing a breaking point, and Kestrelstar felt as though his Clan was hardly prepared. Pacing all day in the leaders' den had done nothing but wear into the soft soil and cause his legs to ache. So many thoughts raced through his brain, the most prominent one being the fact that training needed to be ramped up in camp. With all of the reassignments he seemed to be doing each meeting, the leader was beginning to doubt a majority of his warriors were even good mentors.

Finally he couldn't take it and strode out of the den and into the center of the clearing. It was nearing sunhigh, so the dawn patrols would be back as well as the hunting patrols. "Warriors and Apprentices of RiverClan, gather around!" he called, lifting his tail in command as he waited for the cats to join him.

"With the circumstances surrounding the events at Smallpines and the growing tensions, I want us to be as well trained and as prepared as possible. I will be leading water combat training in case you should ever need it. I encourage apprentices to join, as well as any warriors who may want to join their apprentices or brush up on their combat skills."

With that, he signaled with his tail for the gathered group to follow him out to the training island, reaching it in a rather short time. Surrounded by water, it would be a smart place to practice. "If you're interested in participating, say so now and line up."

HOW THIS EVENT WORKS:

⟿ This will be treated as a battle training experience for all apprentices who enter!
⟿ Have your interested characters follow Kestrelstar out to the training island and nearby areas
⟿ I will pair up warriors to apprentices (provided there are enough*) as partners for this event
*(left over warriors will be paired together)
⟿ Kestrelstar will demonstrate a water combat move to the paired groups for the apprentices to attempt
⟿ Each move that is attempted by the apprentice within the group will garner 1 point; a dice roll every 24 hours will
determine if the move lands successfully or not:

DICE ROLLS:
Roll a 1-3 = Unsuccessful with move
Roll a 4-6 = Successful with move

POINT SYSTEM:
Roll a 1-2 = 1 point
Roll a 3-4 = 2 points
Roll a 5-6 = 3 points

Success = 3 points
Fail = 2 point

⟿ At the end of each 24 hour round, point tallies will be accumulated and the two
apprentices and warriors with the most points at the end will earn special, advanced training from Kestrelstar

Other than that, have fun and gain some water specific training for your apprentice!

Lizardfrost and Lotusheart looked both rather intrigued. Lizardfrost loved unique combat and Lotusheart wanted to take her mind off her missing eye. They both followed.

Brightpaw heard Kesterlstar and padded right over to him. he had already learned a battle move, but wanted to show his leader what he could do. He looked up to the older cat and was glad he gave him a chance. He was no Thunderclan cat. Sure he had the blood in him, but they meant nothing to him. He was loyal to Riverclan until the very end.

"Bright interested.", he meowed with a nod. The autistic apprentice was really excited to get to do a fun activity in his new clan. There weren't many of those back in Thunderclan.

Mistpaw and Violetpaw padded over.

Amberpaw ran over. She was itching to prove herself at this point, and she was done sulking over everything that had happened. She didn’t care if she won, she didn’t care if she lost, she could get paired up with the worst warrior ever, but she was going to train and she was going to learn battle moves!

Perhaps it was strange to see a medicine cat padding over to participate in a battle training but Snakeheart had never been typical and the circumstances that prompted training like this werent usual either. The lanky tom had gotten his swimming training before being named medicine cat apprentice but no battle training, something that had always grated on him and something he'd always planned on correcting, that'd start now. Even if he was fairly protected as a medicine cat, it was generally understood that no one attacked the healers for everyones own good and the lanky tom wasnt one for wandering around solo without protection anyway, but it was war and one couldnt be too sure. Better safe then suddenly depriving riverclan of their healer because he was complacent. Besides better he be here if an idiot tried drowning for fun then he not be.

So quietly he padded over to the group of gathering cats making eye contact with Kestrelstar and nodding, he'd be joining and if the leader knew what was good for him he'd give the irritable tom a good partner.

[Raven~]

Palebrook was interested to see how this would happen, and she loved swimming, so she decided to participate. She padded up to the growing line of cats and went to the end of it, her paws it hing with growing anticipation.

Frostfeathers ears perked up, this sounded like an excellent idea! She padded over, tail swishing in excitement. Only Krestrelstar knew how to make battle training even more enjoyable she mused.

Jaynose padded up to the clearing. Water combat training sounded useful. ”I’ll do it,” she said.
