Ashfeather had agreed to train the apprentice, Snowypaw. Or at least have some sort of outing with them. Even though she thought that this was a great opportunity, she had to admit that she was a bit nervous. What if I mess up? And... what if Wolffang's upset? Featherwhisker had had a lot of kits, and it seemed as though Snowypaw was his half-sibling. Wolffang wouldn't be happy. Nervously, the she-cat shuffled her paws. I agreed to this. And besides, I'm just doing my duty to my Clan. Right? Of course she was! She'd had an apprentice in the past, Windpaw, but not for long because she'd gotten pregnant. A pang of grief struck her as she thought of Flameclaw and her kits.

Now isn't the time. Twilightstar's kits are in good paws while I do this with Snowypaw, she thought determinedly. Ashfeather lifted her head and decided to sit, shivering as a chilly breeze ruffled her matted fur. If only her jaw and tail didn't ache so badly whenever it got cold; she'd get all stiff. She couldn't exactly stretch them out or move them around to get the blood flowing. She moved her jaw a bit, but her tail only twitched helplessly.

I at least hope Snowypaw thinks I'm okay... Ashfeather didn't want to seem like a bad mentor, or a nasty cat. At the same time, she needed a good amount of discipline for them so that they listened. Ashfeather wasn't the best at being harsh, though. I'll just take things as they come. It'll be fine, she thought, trying to force her muscles to relax a bit.

Dewkit looked at the leaf, wiggled her little haunches, and jumped high up in the air, landing about a tail-length short of the leaf. She stood up, shook her head, and jumped again, landing on the leaf this time. She looked back at Featherflight.

Bearbranch was sunbathing in the most random spot ever. The Adder Rocks despite being dangerous with the amount of snakes was a great place to feel the sun. And the feeling of having his fur on the warm rocks was super nice. Hopefully no one at all would come to bother him right now.

Next time, keep in mind you have to judge the distance between you and the prey, and try to jump it, unless you want to make a sloppy kill or scare it away. Want to try again?"

Featherflight gave a small smile. "I'm pretty sure that prey won't let you slap a paw on them, but that pounce was good! Try it again: make sure to guess and jump the distance."

Dewkit backed up. She studied the leaf for a bit, and pounced, landing her front paws on it! She hopped around with joy! "I did it! I pounced on the leaf!"

Creekdash heard his name called again for another hunting patrol. Getting up he padded over to where his clanmates were supposed to meet with him. If they didn't get here soon he would go without them.

Leechkit flattened both his ears and grumbled something underneath his breath as Lionkit immediately started to cry and darted over to Beastkit to actually complain about how Leechkit was being mean. He swiftly felt terrible for snapping at her but was not apologizing for it right now. Beastkit actually looked upset with him! The young tom has half a mind to cuff his brother over the head for the glaring, but he restrained himself. Beastkit didn't cry as easily as Lionkit, the crybaby, though he'd hear from mother about it.

The large gray tom scowled before sighing a second later. He'd find Lionkit something neat later to make up for being mean, but she really should be more careful from now. Leechkit swung his green eyes over to Midnightkit as Beastkit left Lionkit to give her a delightful greeting. Midnightkit had this way of speaking that was just harsh. Though Leechkit could see through it, he had a prickliness to himself that sometimes resulted in him being mouthy to Midnightkit when she spoke. Thankfully, it didn't seem that she was as touchy as Lionkit.

After Beastkit explained the situation with Lionkit and turned to finding mother's den, Leechkit didn't even bother to mimic his mother's eye roll, he could always expect Lionkit and Beastkit to bounce back without much trouble. Lionkit would mostly forget about him being mean and perk up at the sight of Midnightkit as well. It seemed impossible for those two to stay in a bad mood, unlike Leechkit. A little bit mad at everyone, Leechkit shoved aside his moody temper and focused on something a little more important, like finding mother's den. With Midnightkit around, Leechkit didn't feel like he needed to be in a constant vicinity to his siblings, Leechkit was just as protective and felt as responsible towards Midnightkit as he did his other two more innocent siblings, but he also that she was bright enough to watch the other two while he stepped away for a moment. He glimpsed around and spoke to some cats in the clearing.

Naturally, Leechkit didn't bother asking for names, he held a certain poised confidence that only came to warriors after moons of training. Leechkit moved, spoked, and acted like he owned the place. So it wasn't hard getting directions to mother's den. He returned to his littermates moments later, tail high and chin up, quite pleased with himself, his foul mood was pretty much gone by then. "I know where mother's den is." Leechkit announced with a smirk. "Midnightkit," He called to the jet black kitten, "Come and grab this wing, we're taking this with us to mother." He pointed a single paw at some kind of bird prey in front of him. "I bet she hasn't eaten and it's big enough to share." To Lionkit and Beastkit he meowed, "You two follow close behind us. Please don't stop to say hi to every single cat we pass, we'll never reach mother's den that way."

Leechkit spoke the last part with a touch of a hiss in it. It seemed like a very Lion and Beast thing to do. Midnightkit might do it as well purely for the sake of attention, but she'd have her maw full so it was one less kit he needed to direct. "Come on, hurry up, it'll be moonhigh at this rate." The young tom growled impatiently thought it lacked much bite to it as he ducks his head to grab the wing of some blackbird in between his teeth.
