The sightless kit padded forward, dragging her paws as not to trip on anything. A slight smile lit her her face as she thought of Sparrowflight, the cat that had turned out was her adopted sister. She Flowerkit couldn't help but bounce a little with her step, she was just so full of joy.

She shouldn't have lifted her paws from the ground because she almost right away bumped into a on other kit. Great! "Pardon me" she squeaked and took a tumbling step back after which she inhaled and tried to identify the other kit's scent.

Mushroomkit was debating how to sneak out of the Nursery, and he was just about to make a dash for it when another kit tripped over him. He was to snap at the kit, the stress and depression of being stuck in the Nursery was too much.

He whipped around to glare at the kit but stopped almost instantly. There was something familiar about her eyes, the way they weren't focused on anything and the way her ears were pricked like she was constantly listening. It reminded them of how he imagined his eyes looked.

Taking a conscious step forward he took a sniff of the kit, although he could partially mostly see out of his left eye, his right eye was completely blind. With a puzzled look, he asked her "Are you blind too?"

Flowerkit could feel and hear the other kit move quickly, he seemed stressed, almost angry with her. Perfect. She couldn't recognize his scent, it was somewhat familiar but she couldn't for the life of her to come up with his name.

She frowned, though only slightly at his question. She didn't quite like the word, she'd rather call the other cat who had eyesight something instead of them calling her blind. But regardless that was what it was called to everyone else.

"Yes... Again, I apologize for bumping into you, i didn't hurt you did I?" She hoped this wouldn't snowball into a fight, she had a bad hunch about this kit, he already seemed to have gotten slightly riled up and she could just imaging him starting to shout at her for her clumsiness.

Then his words competently sank in. He had said "Are you blind two"... He didn't come of as if he couldn't see, he didn't move like she had learned to do, the stop in his action before he spoke sounded like he was looking at her...

Okay, now he was genuinely more curious, his anger and boredom were long gone. Shaking out the loss from his fur, a small smile on his face. "I'm Mushroomkit! I'm blind in only one eye now, I couldn't see out of my either because an infection was keeping it shut", he lashed his tail slightly at the reminder of the pain he had felt during the infection.

He wasn't all that good at interacting with anyone other then Cottonkit, so he wasn't sure if he was annoying her or not, but he was excited he had someone to actually talk to.

"Sorry for getting upset at you tripping over me, it wasn't your fault. I've been bored out of my mind cause I've been stuck in here", a drip of anger in their voice at the reminder.

Tilting his head to the side curiously, he asked her "Hey what's your name?"

While she couldn't still make out bits of resentment in his voice she was glad to hear him cheer up slightly, and at the fact that he wasn't mad at her. "Flowerkit." She introduced herself and dipped her head in (slightly late) greeting.

So he was blind in one eye, it made sense and would fit with the rest of his words. A more concerned look came over her face "Isn't it painful..." she asked. She had been born sightless and couldn't even imagine having to lose something like that, it must hurt a lot... he also said he had been stuck in here for a while, so it must be healing at least?

"Yeah, it was pretty painful but it's starting to clear up, Icicleripple said I have this thing called FID", he frowned slightly. What even was FID? He had absolutely no clue, all he knew was that she said he'd get sick again eventually.

"But it's probably painful for you too, maybe not physically, but I was lucky enough to see out of one eye, yknow? I remember how hard it was the first few moons." Only Cottonkit had wanted to be his friend, and even now he didn't have many.

An idea popped into his head, "Hey! Maybe we could be friends?", be mewed hopefully. Having a friend sounded kinda nice. Maybe they could train together when they became apprentices?

Honeyfoot lay down, ears twitching. She flicked her tail lightly. She could hear purrs, and the usual kits arguing. “Oakfur will be a great father” she murmured. She knew her kits were going to come soon, so she spent her time either sharing tounges with her mate, eating her favorite fresh-kill, or sleeping. OPEN! (I’m not trying to interrupt any private rps)

FID? That was something Flowerkit had never heard of, then again she hadn't been in the medicine den before and didn't know anything about medical terms. It sounded like a shortened version of something, like... F.... Fading... Ice.... Duck... for example. Anyway.

She was slightly confused by the other thing he said. Being born blind wasn't painful. Did Mushroomkit (odd name) that she would be emotionally hurt? Fair enough, she had heard others whisper behind her back about how wired her eyes looked. "Ghost-like" was a word that they often used in their descriptions. It did hurt, not being blind, but being different and judged by it.


Flowerkit was a little taken a back by his straight-forwardness when he asked about becoming friends. It honestly sounded nice to have someone that almost understood how it was not to see. "Oh, sure. I'd be glad to be your friend"

The large feline let out a dissapointed sigh, shaking his head. "Warriors shouldn't sleep in, as they have duties to fulfil. Apprentices should be up and about in the morning, training or practising, Rosepaw, though I'll let you off the hook since this is your first day". After scolding his apprentice with a cold, heavy tone, he signalled for the young molly to follow on as he made his way out of camp.

The molly moved out of the nursery, wanting to go off and bother some warriors. She really wanted to know some things about being a warrior. She just couldn't wait for herself to become an apprentice before then. Pondkit padded up to the first cat she saw. "Hey would you mind answering a few questions. It's mildly important.", she meowed.
