Hey, if you ever need help or want a warrior to play with you to strengthen your skills before you become an apprentice, you can normally find me somewhere in the clearing. Hey, I hope you get a good mentor when you do become an apprentice. Are you excited? Its only five moons away which isn't very long of you think about it."

He was aware of the fact he was rambling and his pelt prickled in embarrassment but his eyes glimmered curiously.

Nightkit look down at herself. She didn't think that she was that big. In fact, if anyone was big, it would be Redrock. When the warrior started talking again, Nightkit listened with a glint in her eyes.

This was awesome! A warrior was talking to her! Her brother was going to be so jealous! When the warrior finished, Nightkit started to talk too.

"I'm super excited! I can't wait to be an apprentice!" Nightkit fluffed her fur. She wasn't too cold any more, and now she wanted to play. "Can we play right now?" She asked.

Leafecho felt suddenly exhausted with the weight of everything she'd said and the attentions being pulled to her. She bowed her head but the turmoil was still raging within her. She silently cursed this newfound passion but she couldn't, didn't want to keep quiet. She'd so related to and been inspired by Aspenstar, hearing her now under so much scrutiny and vitriol stirred something within Leafecho and she felt she owed it to her leader to speak up.

With a quivering voice, she spoke out again, facing Buckbranch but avoiding direct eye contact, "But she gave her plan, to be more active with the clan, to deal with missing cats, to be on top of everything. With everybody's mood right now, if she were to go into more detail everybody would simply pick flaws in it. She'd just be giving you all more to pick her apart for. She can do no right and she's admitted that that's her own fault but she doesn't need to keep falling on that stake. Rather than suffer more abuse and open herself up to more accusations of empty promises, why shouldn't she just do as you've all asked and show you? But she can't show or prove anything today."

Larkstorm swallowed nervously. Aspenstar? Step down? But StarClan had chosen her to lead the Clan! Aspenstar couldn’t step down, not now. The Clan needed her, Larkstorm needed her. She trusted Aspenstar. Sure, she had made some mistakes, but who hadn’t? Aspenstar was being too hard on herself, and Larkstorm’s Clanmates sure wasn’t helping. Even though Larkstorm knew this was a little bit late, Larkstorm spoke up. “StarClan chose Aspenstar to lead. Why would they choose Aspenstar if she wasn’t ready? We have to trust StarClan and Aspenstar.”

Ignoring the constant jabbing within her, she stated up st Aspenstar with wide eyes. Step down? Yes, she knew she made mistakes, but they could be fixed! After hearing her say the whole 'I'll step down in a moon's nonsense, a low growl escaped her. "A moon? If our clanmates even bother to listen to you if you start showing up more then they'll listen." She completely ignored the tenancy of a growl in her tone, a small lash of her tail twitching ever so slightly.

Nightkit bounced a little on her paws. “Ok! Where to?” She meowed, looking around with wide eyes. This was a great idea, not only would she be able to play, but she could also she the rest of camp, just like she wanted. It was perfect!

"The medicine den is always warm," he commented. "Perhaps behind it we can play. I don't want you to get sick, I feel your mother would claw my pelt off."

Nightkit beamed. “Ok!” Then Nightkit frowned. Her mother? Clawing another cat’s pelt off? Nightkit couldn’t imagine that. Her mother was too sweet.

Nightkit peered out of the nursery. The medicine cat den…she’d never been there…where was it? Nightkit fluffed her fur more, in embarrassment. “I don’t know where that is…” she admitted, guiltily. Hopefully Redrock didn’t think her an ignorant kit.
