they were sagepaw, finally, after what seemed like forever. although, unofficially, which was made clear by dogbark as he declared their new name. though it'd feel much better to officially be named an apprentice, it was better than staying a kit any longer. and aspenstar wasn't going to do it, so they were fine with it for now.

"thank you," they mewed with a slight nod, but figured that he probably wasn't heard since dogbark had to turn to spiderthroat again. he glanced at swiftkit again, silently judging her choice, then to pondkit..or, where she used to be standing. she was gone. well, that wasn't his problem. noticing that things were starting to get chaotic again, sagepaw slipped away in the direction of the apprentices den, sending a small grin sundust's way so he'd know that they heard his words.

just as he was about to enter the apprentices den, aspenstar spoke - officially giving them their name and mentor. mallardstep. he turned slightly, looking around the crowd, and learned that he didn't need to look hard considering the warrior was staring at him with his jaw dropped. they looked back to the den before fully turning and padding over to mallardstep. "i'd like to start training as soon as possible..if that's okay."

lynxfuzz thought he was funny!! wait, that was bad! he wasn't supposed to be seen as funny by lynxfuzz! he was funny, but he didn't want to hear that from mean lynxfuzz! his long tail twitched, nose scrunching up briefly. the toms advice was heard by cornpaw for sure, but it seemed that he was interpreting it as some insult.
he stuck his tongue out, "well, maybe i WANT a scar or two, uglyfuzz! have you ever thought about that?" he responded tartly, feeling that it was the best way to reply.

cornpaw almost laughed when dogbark started snapping at lynxfuzz, but then.. spiderthroat spoke. he was eager to hear a response to his own words. his own very smart sounding words that were inspired by the coolest cat ever. and. they. were. ignored?!?! spiderthroat was EVIL. evil!! the apprentice stuck out his tongue at the warrior before turning his attention to aspenstar momentarily when she finally decided to speak. apprentices, mentors - blah, blah, blah, he didn't care that much.

he looked over to swiftpaw, who'd been assigned larkstorm as a mentor and grinned before skipping his way over to her. "larkstorms my mentor too!! so maybe, MAYBE, we'll train together. you should try and help me hunt a huge fox!" he meowed, nodding slightly before deciding to take his leave. this meeting had been a mess.

Sharpkit then kicked Wishkit with his back legs by spinning around, knocking her back a few feet. He stood up, laughing, "Got you! Got you! Got you! Ha ha ha ha hahaha!!!"

Wishkit jumped up. "That's now fair!" She mewed with a loud laugh as she pounced on Sharpkit playfully biting his ear.

The black tom snapped his muzzle shut as Sagepaw approached him. He looked down that the apprentice for a heartbeat. Now? Really? After this meeting? Great their one of those types. He got to his paws and stretched. I’ve been sitting in one place for far too long. He turned back to Sagepaw.

“You sure you don’t want to settle into the apprentice den first? Don’t you want a nice nest to crawl into after we’re done?” Mallardstep flicked his tail. He really just wanted to stall for awhile. Starclan knows he needed a little nap after all the stupidity he just witnessed, and all the worrying he had done.

Oh, was this furball still here? He'd almost forgotten, and once again he turned sparkling blue eyes on Cornpaw. A grin overtook his neutral expression and he even let out a short chuckle as he shrugged. "Then that's your choice, Fuzzy. Go get yourself a scar or two. I'm sure ShadowClan or even some more volatile RiverClan warriors would be happy to help." The stalk of grass in between his teeth shifted to the other side of his mouth as he lifted his eyebrows at Cornpaw. "You're almost as hilarious as this meeting. Once you get those scars, how about you come show me? Maybe I'll get one too. Then we'll match."

Boy, this kid was a riot. It was almost as fun to poke at him as it was to egg on the chaos around him.

Blinking the sleep from her eyes, Sparrowflight padded out of the warriors den and dropped into a deep stretch before yawning. Her run before bed had stiffened her muscles more than anything, perhaps it was getting a bit too cold for her recreational jaunts through the territory this Leaf-bare... Ears pricking up at Dogbark's call for patrols, the tan warrior glanced around the clearing for Lynxfuzz.

A slightly younger warrior than herself, if she remembered correctly. Also, wasn't he usually carrying grass or something around? Bright green eyes attempted to locate her hunting partner as she shifted her weight from side to side in an attempt to warm up her paws. Hopefully his hunting skills would prove lucrative at their assigned location.

Oh, ew. Why was this guy giving him orders again? Lynxfuzz rose to his paws and stretched out each leg one by one before slowly meandering over to where Sparrowflight stood. Maybe it would be a little unfair to his partner, but Lynxfuzz REALLY wanted to make things difficult on Dogbark. ThunderClan wasn't yet home to pot-stirrers, but he'd contribute to making that a reality. Haha. Chaos. How funny,

He smiled at Sparrowflight as he approached, but it was an expression that lacked any mirth. "Heya. Lead the way, partner."

Blackjaw watched Mallardstep laying in the den and yawned, as he walked in he accidentally bumped into him.

The black tom padded towards the clearing entrance after, Harespring was it? Against all his better judgement he had decided to go out hunting without being ordered. The prey pile was starting to get too low even for his liking. Once they were almost to the entrance Mallardstep noticed something odd in the way Harespring walked. Did he have a sore pad? Honestly some cats worked way too hard.

“Is something wrong with you leg?” He meowed without tact.

“Is something wrong with you leg?” He meowed without tact.

Harespring blinked, noticing someone approach him, and raised an eyebrow. He was meant to be hunting with... Mallardstep, was it? And that question... Was it... Really not obvious? He'd believe that for his eye, but not for his leg.

"Um, in case the many scars don't help explain, I can't exactly use my leg well," the dark brown tabby tom explained, blinking quickly. "I can't really use it, but I am perfectly capable of hunting, fighting, and whatnot."

“Oof! Could you watch where you’re going?” Mallardstep grumbled his voice gravely with sleep. He flicked his tail in annoyance. It wasn’t like he was a kit! This cat would have to be blind to bump into him even while he was sleeping. He stretched his jaws in a long yawn, and muttered about cats these days despite his age. Now I’ll have to fall back asleep! What a pain!

The winter snow looked like crap. Not only everything is covered in white, but it is also so cold that it made the old tom's bones ache. "Ugrff," his grumble echoed in the stuffy den. Swampfog's good green eye stared toward the light with a twitch of his ragged ears. An impatient 'tch' slipped through his clenched fangs. "Where are the dog'gon apprentices??!!! Or at least the dang on kits, let them do somethin' for a change- I need sum food and cleanin'!" his fury roared for all to hear not giving a damn. As of lately, his fur crawled like crazy with fleas, picking and itching did no justice. Instead, some of his furs came out in patches... it's disastrous. "Thunderclan really changed for the worse. I might as 'ell become leader, I'll set some stuff straight- hmph, yeah."
