"Um, in case the many scars don't help explain, I can't exactly use my leg well," the dark brown tabby tom explained, blinking quickly. "I can't really use it, but I am perfectly capable of hunting, fighting, and whatnot."

Mallardstep squinted at his leg. Oh right I see it now. He hadn’t noticed for a distance. Maybe he was getting old. He wasn’t sure if a cat with a gimpy leg could hunt or fight. He was certainly doubtful. He twitched his ear in disbelief.

“Really? Are you sure about that?” He volume was calm, but his tone was blunt and rude. He didn’t want to go out with a liability. That would cause more work for him. Plus he wasn’t all that great of a fighter himself. If something decided to attack that could be troublesome.

Sorry," the clumsy tom meowed. Blackjaw tried to go lay down on a rock but tripped and hit his head on a rock, he blacked out, blood trickling out of a gash in his head.

"If I wasn't, I doubt I would've been made a warrior at all," Harespring responded, used to the crude words he spoke. He could tell why he thought so lowly of him, but he had proven himself a warrior, or he wouldn't have been made one. He looked at Mallardstep, raising an eyebrow, as if wondering if he had any more crude comments to make.

Sundust lifted his head as the deputy called his name, eyes glimmering excitedly as he realized he had been placed on a patrol. And with an apprentice, too! He adored working with the young cats, but seldom went out with them. His peach-colored gaze flitted around the clearing, finally landing on the young molly in question: Rosepaw. Oh yeah, this would be fun. From what he could recall, the she-cat was a tad... unlucky. But! That was nothing a little determination couldn't handle.

He trotted over, dipping his head in greeting to the younger feline. "Hello, Rosepaw. If you're ready, we can go ahead and head out." It would be nice getting out of camp for a bit, roaming the territory for a while. Things were a little crazy recently, and Sundust needed a breather. Besides, he wanted to make up for his last patrol, which had... well he wasn't really sure what had happened, but he felt he needed to make up for it. Maybe he would bring back extra prey this patrol. Yes, that would be good! Now that leafbare - he practically shuddered at the thought of that dreadful fourth season - was here, the clan need to be extra stocked up on food.

sagepaw felt a little worried when they heard that they were being put on a patrol. they had just become an apprentice, with no training yet, and they were going on a patrol already? though, there'd be a warrior with them and swiftpaw, cindersky, and she seemed kind so they hoped there would be no troubles. walking to the middle of the clearing, she looked around for cindersky and swiftpaw.

they raised a brow. "i can just..settle in when we're done with training, can't i? it won't make much of a difference." either way, they'd have to settle in. they didn't feel like stalling beginning training, they were already the last of their siblings to become an apprentice. he wondered how much lotus and rose knew.

"i'd like to start training now, since I'm already behind. I was made an apprentice late, if you didn't know." sagepaw mewed, eyes travelling towards the camp exit. maybe they were a little less eager than they thought..were there dangerous things in the territory? probably. "..fighting would be preferable." she added on, deciding that would be best to start with. if there were dangerous, scary things in the territory, he should know how to defend himself at least.

Nectarflame sat taller, hearing her name in the mix, along with Muskrat Mire. She lets out a sigh as she stands, stretching in a leisurely manner before tossing a look around for her hunting companion of the day. It would be no easy task to find anything in this weather, and Dogbark never did fulfill the promise behind his words when it came to sending out hunting parties to fill up any type of prey storage. So now, they worked that much harder for their scraps. Well, it was not her issue to resolve clearly. Because she had tried to do that already, and it got them as far as any lousy stone toss by a kit would.

She does not waste time in searching the clearing for her hunting companion any more than her previous glance-around, and flicks her tail as she swiftly exits the camp to head out. There was much to do.

Newtheart breathed a quiet sigh of relief as his eyes finally landed on Thunderclan camp. It had been... well he wasn't quite sure how long it had been, but he knew it was a while. His bright amber gaze shifted to his apprentice. "You ready?" It had been shortly after the ceremony when Brightpaw had vanished, and only a few days after when Newtheart went looking for her. He tried to convince himself to stay - heck, he was terrified of leaving the clan - but it worried him. He knew what it was like to be out alone in the territories, with minimal skills, and he wasn't going to let an apprentice fresh out of the nursery get lost in the forest.

He paused for a moment, eyes flicking back towards the camp, before calling out in a hesitant voice. "Hello, Aspenstar? Dogbark?" He tried to keep his voice from shaking, but he was so scared of being turned away. The least he could do was get Brightpaw back into the clan. He knew Dogbark and Aspenstar were reasonable cats, but he was still worried.
