Lavendersnap was a little surprised by Tigerpaw’s…lack luster reaction. She had expected it to be right up her ally. Granted she did look shocked, but…it wasn’t the sort of reaction she had come to expect. She hadn’t even commented. I’ll have to get to know her better so I can pick better stories next time. She vowed in her head. She loved seeing how the cat she was talking to reacted to her pick, it was her reward for telling the story. It was one of the reasons she loved it so much, and why she typically chose nice and fluffy stories. She couldn’t keep a twinge of disappointment from stabbing her. I’ll do better next time, don’t worry, dearie. She kept all these thoughts from crossing her face.

“So what do you think? Was it a worthy prize for showing me these stones?” She purred, hoping to gauge Tigerpaw’s thoughts with this question.

*Tigerpaw nodded, her face showing many questions at once*

He glanced around, grunting. Getting up, he padded after Twilightstar. Too cold for life right now. He thought grumpily, surprised the chill reached through his thick coat.

Palecloud popped out to call out in reply, “I’ll Chase them your way, Nightstorm!” He darted inside, swiftly making his way through the tunnels. He made sure to apply pressure to the side ff the tunnel with his tail, it was a technique he used to draw rabbits to him that worked wonders, and all it made was a quiet scraping dirt noise. He heard scuffling around in the distance, and smiled slightly, mentally celebrating. He caught wind of two rabbits and detoured so he could get behind them. Although it wasn’t the best, that he was the only one in the tunnel, he could do it. Either way, he didn’t need any extra blockage at the moment. He could see them, and he had the element of surprise, as he had previously masked his scent with some herbs he found. The tom lurked behind them, and then let out a small chirp, rabbits scurrying away, just in the direction he needed. He herded them towards the escape tunnel, and he shouted so the two cats on the other ends of the tunnel could hear. “Incoming rabbits, there’s two, headed towards the Escape Tunnel, I’m chasing them over there, both of y’all, go over there!” His call echoed through the tunnels, making its way to where Hawkblaze and Nightstorm stood.

Hawkblaze darted to Nightstorm's side and faced the escape tunnel. "Great job Palecloud! Are you ready? Let's get them both!" He said turning to Nightstorm. The adrenaline rushing through his veins was a different kind today, an excitement he hadn't felt in a long time. The thrill of the chase... I missed this. Rabbits aren't usually how i get this, but it'll do for now... His tail lashed as he mused over his current state, blood pounding in his ears.

Honeykit watched other kits group up with their parents or guardians and looked at her paws. Wrapping her tail around her front paws she sat alone in a crowd full of cats. She waited for some member from her 'family' to show up, was she even allowed to call them that. They always seemed so happy without her...

Nightstorm stalked closer to the opening, as Hawkblaze rushed to her side. "Oh ya, I'm ready," she meowed, waiting expectantly for the rabbits to burst out and the chase to begin. "Let's do this!"

Palecloud picked up the pace, and the rabbits burst out of the warren, the gray tom letting and a chuckle of triumph. Although it was his first time actually hunting in the warrens accompanied by others, it was so much easier. Normally, after he had chased a rabbit or two out of their tunnels, they were out in the open and at an advantage of being able to speed up, and run off right away. This didn’t really give Palecloud a chance to catch them, much less even see which direction they went.

He quickly bashed it in the head with a big tabby forepaw, then clamped his jaws around it's neck while it was stunned. The rabbit fell limp in front of him and he sat before it proudly, puffing out his chest. He turned to watch Nightstorm, to see if she managed to get the second rabbit.

Nightstorm watched Hawkblaze through the corner of her eye, as he killed the first rabbit, then turned her attention to the opening. The second rabbit burst out, squealing. Nightstorm leapt upon it, and came down a hairsbreadth away from its head. The rabbit reared up and twisted around, leaping the other way. Nightstorm growled in frustration and skimmed of after it. Her tail felt like a leaf in the wind and her fur ruffled like the heather. She could see the rabbit up ahead, and ran, if possible, faster. She got closer to the rabbit, but she hadn't been paying attention to where she was. She prepared to leap, but her hind legs skidded of into nothingness! She clung tightly to the grass at the edge of the gorge. "Hawkblaze! Palecloud! HELP! Help me!"
She didn't know if her calls would reach them, but she hoped so because she couldn't hold on much longer!

Palecloud let out a yowl of surprise, sprinting faster than he had ever been seen running. Running this fast makes it feel so…cold. Even his short pelt was ruffled by the wind he went just in the opposite direction of, and he was fueling by anger towards that rabbit. He skidded to a hasty stop where his paws met the die, and his gaze flicked to Nightstorm. “This might hurt, seeing that you’re already a grown cat but I’ll just have to snag your scruff”
He didn’t wait for a response, he just bore his jaw onto Nightstorm’s scruff and swung them out of the gorge’s deathly way. Panting and exhausted, he uttered out, “you gotta watch out, man.” And then gave a small chuckle.
