"Nope, I can't pick anything up either, everything's hiding or dead," he spoke solemnly. "Perhaps we venture close to WindClan's border? Things might be coming out of their burrows over there," he suggested. Obviously Gingercry was in charge, so he let the older warrior decide.

Gingercry sighed quietly. Leafbare had to be close to ending by now. Interesting, he'd never before given much thought or care to the changing seasons. The weather was what it was and he adjusted. But with his age advancing he was finding leafbare more difficult to cope through. He wasn't a cat to complain but the chill that had crept into his joints and the toll of less food on his body was slowly getting to him. He nodded, "Yes, good idea, we'll head towards the Windclan border." Gingercry was proud but not prideful and a suggestion was rarely unwarranted, especially in such a bleak hunting excursion. He would try just about anything. He picked up his pace toward the Windclan border but kept his ears and nose alert to any new signs that there may be some prey lurking.

Pineclaw's green gaze glowed a little with the praise of his idea. He followed quickly behind Gingercry, the sooner they caught something, the sooner he knew Dawnstar wouldn't skin them. "The rodents and hares over there might be coming out for food, everyone's hungry right now," Pineclaw chipped in, though he assumed Gingercry was very aware of this with his experience. The closer they got, the more antsy the tabby tom got. His mouth was parted to take in the scents, hoping to catch something.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Gingercry stopped only long enough to shake himself after another stretch of no signs of prey, trying to keep his blood flowing and joints warmer. When he started again he had a bouncing trot, though decieivingly quite steps despite his bulky appearance. As the trees thinned and opened into the moorland of their somewhat recently won territory from Windclan, the breeze grew to stronger, colder gusts, cutting through his thick orange fur. But on that breeze he caught the mouthwatering scent of rabbit. He crouched low and slowly swept his feathered tail towards the direction of the rabbit. In a quiet voice he meowed over to his patrolmate, "There's a rabbit just over there. You've a better chance at catching the thing so I'll leave it to you. Just be aware that the border is near." Pineclaw wasn't a particularly young warrior so Gingercry was confident that his words would likely be mostly unneeded, but most cats these days were young to him and it didn't hurt to hear his own voice.

Pineclaw was a little taken aback by the warrior's words. Perhaps he was right, but it wasn't something most cats would willingly admit to. With a wave of his tail to signal his acknowledgement, Pineclaw dropped low and took the lead.
He was downwind of the rabbit, stepping lightly to get as close to the rabbit as he could. Thankfully his brown tabby pelt melted into the surroundings much easier than what he assumed Gingercry's pelt would. With a few steps closer, the tension built up in his rear legs until he thought he was ready for the chase. He definitely wasn't the quickest warrior around, but he would sure try his best.
Once the chase was done, Pineclaw stood panting heavily, dangerously close to the border, hare in his jaws lifeless. He turned to look back at Gingercry to see where the older warrior was now. He hadn't yet processed where he stood, but it didn't matter as he started taking steps back towards where he last saw his patrol leader.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Gingercry quickly turned his attention to looking for more prey nearby though he made the decision not to travel from his spot and risk alerting the rabbit. So he crouched down and watched the younger warrior stalk the prey. His chase took him directly toward the Windclan border. Gingercry's attention, previously focusing on looking for more prey, turned fully to Pineclaw and over the moorland in Windclan territory for any patrols coming. He lifted himself off the ground to get a better view and readied to alert Pineclaw if he crossed the border, it was a mistake even a seasoned warrior could make in the heat of the chase during leafebare. Luckily, Pineclaw made his catch cleanly and Gingercry let his breath out. With a smile he congratulated, "Nice catch. Careful, you may start making the clan think you're half-Windclan." Gingercry chuckled. He rose to his paws and turned, flicking his thick orange tail. "Ready to head back? At least we've got something and we can keep our eyes out for anything else along the way."

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Brackentail shivered and looked at Shinepaw. “Alright.” He whispered. “What?”

-Shinepaw-
The she breathed shakily, "I hate this place." She looked Brackentail straight in the eyes, she wasn't ashamed. "Dawnstar is a sociopath, and no one is doing anything about it, I feel like I'm in danger constantly," she meowed. She looked at the ground, and stretched her claws. "I want to start a revolution." The silver cat looked at him, and shivered.

As Pineclaw approached, the older warrior's words made his eyes light up with amusement. He fake gasped through a mouthful of fur, "How dare! I'm obviously too muscular to be a WindClanner!" he joked, a hit on the lithe clan's appearance. They were usually smaller and lean. "I'm ready to head back when you are though," he commented, nodding in agreement towards keeping their eyes out for other prey.

Brackentail stared at her for a moment. He had since he was an apprentice. “I do too.” He told her. He sat down. “But we’ll have to find a lot more cats. Obviously not Orchidmoon or Vixenpaw!” @ InsertCoolNameHere

"Are you sure? It'll dangerous, and I we need a plan, and if we're caught, we need a plan to leave." she stamped her foot on the ground and looked at him. Was this the right thing to do, being traitors, in the hopes it would help the clan. "How about this for a code phrase, when we need help. The raven flies with the storm, or even better, are you friends of Shinepaw. she smiled at him a bit, but her face turned cold, she was afriad.
