As a kit, both he and his brother grew up together, very close to one another. Their mother claimed that their father was a powerful tom (which is not known if its true or not,) and siad that the only reason that they were alive and that she didn’t kill them was because she wanted to blackmail him. It’s not known if this is true or not, or who their father is, but they were told simply to fear that their father may one day kill them for existing. They both believe their father to be a WindClan cat, but it’s more likely it was a rogue cat or loner.
Their mother would constantly make Splashkit (later renamed as an apprentice to Mintpaw), Spottedkits brother, sick. She would try different plants on him, until she found ones that would harm him; but not enough to kill him. While she was verbally horrible to Spottedkit, she never outright tried to hurt him that badly; though she hated when he would ever leave the nursery den, and basically disallowed them from doing so.
When they became apprentices, at gatherings, up until 9 moons old, they would meet with a cat called Brokenspirit (RC; apparently “deceased.” No rper.) who would tell them how great RiverClan was. She acted as a second mother to them. Her mate, Daffodilheart (also”” deceased,”” at least that’s what their clan believes / what they were told) did not see the harm in the words she said, and would sneak into WindClan territory to see the apprentices and sneak them food, as their mother tended to take any fresh kill they got from the pile or caught themselves away from them without others knowing. After just two moons, at 7 moons, Mintpaw decided to join RiverClan and leave WindClan behind. It wasn’t known to Spottedpaw why this was (read their side to see!)
After the first gathering, it seemed like Brokenspirit was more fond of Mintpaw before they joined, and completely stopped seeing him after joining RiverClan. Daffodilheart claimed they knew nothing about it, not knowing answers, and hid what he did know from Spottedpaw.
When he became a warrior, both Daffodilheart and Brokenspirit went missing. He heard they had died and that Minteyes was the only witness to it, as they had died from a fox, but heard nothing more. Minteyes does not talk to him.

Daffodilheart and Brokenspirit have their own whole backstory and if you want to rp them, let me know because they are open; I plan on later having them maybe come back, or just leave them dead, idk, it depends.but they play a huge role… theres more to it than this im just lazy

Splashkit and Spottedkit were very close when they were kits, almost inseparable, except for when Spottedkit would sneak out of the den and try to sneak fresh kill into the nursery as their mother, before and then after being weaned, would refuse to feed them and would steal the food they got for herself. Splashkit relied a lot on his brother and knew this. He was ‘sick’ often, and his mother strangely kept refusing to get him help from the medicine cats. His mother would do anything to make him sick, and render him unable to leave the nursery. He had an immense fear of his father, who is not known to them, because his mother would claim he was ‘powerful’ and ‘would kill him.’
When Splashkit became Mintpaw, they were still heavily controlled by their mother, and tried to be hidden away, staying in camp as much as possible. He was going to a gathering, regardless, and there, he met two cats that would soon change his life forever; Brokenspirit, and Daffodilheart.
Daffodilheart tended to talk more with Spottedpaw, whereas Brokenspirit stuck with Mintpaw, constantly talking to him. They would meet at the RC/WC border a lot to speak to on another, and that’s where most of Brokenspirits brainwashing happened. She eventually convinced him that his brother hated him, was going to abandon him, that he should come to riverclan. She also was the one to tell him how StarClan was truly only loving of those who were strong, and not weak, despite that not being true. She would talk a lot about StarClan and was very faithful, despite her warped view of it.
Brokenspirit would verbally abuse Mintpaw, and encourage his other alter at the time, ‘Mint,’ to be out more, and be more aggressive towards others to prove he was strong; that he could protect himself. Eventually, Minteye was able to join RiverClan, Brokenspirit acting as a mother to him. Daffodilheart seemingly would constantly go over to WindClan territory or the border, sneaking in, to see Spottedpaw. Brokenspirit used this to say that Daffodilheart and Spottedmask betrayed them.
Minteye witnessed Daffodilheart and Brokenspirit running away.Brokenspirit ran off, claiming that she was being ‘suffocated by Daffodilhearts light,’ and Daffodilheart went after her, not another word spoken. Per Brokenspirits request, they lied abot the death of Brokenspirit and Daffodilheart, harmed himself to make it look like he was attacked, and claimed they were both dead.
He has seen Daffodilheart attempt to return a couple of times, but chases him off the territory, blaming him for Spottedpaw hating him. He became a warrior not long after all this happened.
As a warrior, he tries his best, and works himself so hard that hes constantly tired, worn out, passing out, or anxious. He finds solace in Firefly cove, where there are many wildflowers. H absolutely despises WindClan, and especially, Spottedmask, wanting nothing to do with him, believing he was abandoned when he went to RiverClan and Spottedmask refused to come with him. Minteye refuses to talk to him at gatherings, and tries his best to keep the peace.
