Aspenglow was playing with her kits in the clearing when she smelled the strong metallic tang of blood. When she saw Wolffang, she wrapped her tail around all three kits, pulling them close to her.

Hickorynose hissed as her kit wandered up to the injured cat. "Flamekit! Listen to your mother!" she growled, picking the kit up by his scruff.

"We have to do something! What if it finds the camp?" she calls out.
