The loss of Wolffang wasn't lost on Toadpounce and the gravity of everything that happened weighed heavily on his shoulders as he hopped slowly, with the last of his dwindling strength through Cowpaw's den. He stopped at the entrance, wanting to collapse but dreading the pain and not knowing if he'd be able to stand again if he went down, so he used all of the will he could summon to remain on his swaying paws. His shoulder was burning with pain down to the uselessly dangling toes. His other legs were falling numb with the extra exertion placed on them from the long trek without the use of his fourth leg. The blood matting his bitten back leg was making his fur stiff even as the muscle itself grew stiffer in protest. He took a deep breath and waited for his breath to catch before calling out somberly, "Cowpaw, I...I'm sorry to bother you but..."

Basilcliff dragged the hare through the entrance, her neck craning under the weight. Her paws landed heavily with each step as she crossed the clearing to deposit the prey, and took a small breath as the hare dropped onto the fresh-kill pile; laying heavy over the other various prey that littered the pile. With a flick of her tail she glanced around for Fallownose, quickly spotting the deputy not far off. Perking her ears, she crossed the space between them, coming to stand in front of the tom.

"Fallownose," She mew, flicking her tail in greeting. "The hunting patrol went well, we manged to find quite the hare." She nodded to the fresh-kill pile where the catch could be seen before turning back to Fallownose. Not wanting to discredit her patrol-mate, she added, "Wrenpaw did great, she'll be a fine hunter." She praised with a grin, dipping her head before she padded off.

Aspenglow studied the kit. "How old are you?" she meowed. "Do you still nurse?"
