Re: The Thunderwillow
| Softpaw of Thunderclan |
' 'Mistheart! Cloudyflight! Houndspirit! Rainhound! Brightpath! Cornfuzz! Crowfire! Snakechaser! Bumblebreak! Batblood! Marshowl!' ' That was a mouthful, and she was not repeating those names twice or thrice, once was enough. She'd met almost all of them before [having criticized one like, five minutes ago?] so it was rewarding to see them gain their warriors names, technically, she was ready herself, but she hadn't had an assessment and part of her wasn't personally ready to be a warrior, she needed. . .a few things done first.
As she looked over to the dead bodies, the realization that Wildspark was one of the deceased hit her. Sure, she processed that he was dead, but, the effect it had didn't kick in until now. Softpaw took a metaphorical sigh, and just hoped Starclan would treat him well, along with Houndspirit, sure, Wildspark was her mentor, but she had to wish well for her peer as well.
It'd sting without either of them.

Re: ThunderClan Clearing
@ ~Fierce~
The molly stood in the clearing by the shadows, by the quiet edges of the camp. Her dark fur just about blended in with the dark. Scars littered her messy, curly pelt, her one amber -almost golden- eye was narrowed into it's usual grumpy slit. What else could she do but sit alone and fume? She hadn't succeeded in finding a hunting partner yet, and she generally never talked to others. Maybe it was because she was scared they would hate her -they probably would- and she would face that rejection.
She sighed, her one eye relaxing as she took a peek at the blue sky. It was a happy colour. Too happy. Why would any cat need her anger issues and moody personality to add to their list of problems that day?

Re: The Thunderwillow
// @Spotty. @shivver for mentions
>Bumblebreak<Bumblepaw had lifted her head to chant Snakechaser's and Crowfire's names, shooting proud grins their way and very much resisting the urge give them both a friendly shoulder-check. Stars, look at them all.
And then those magic words came. They turned her attention away from everything else, spilled from Jaystride's lips like golden honey, and Bumblepaw nearly buckled beneath the weight they held. With her name, came a flood of emotion that almost knocked her off of her paws.
Bumblebreak. Great skies, it felt so, so good to hear, and she leaned into the embrace. Her eyes had been watering before, but now, although few, they spilled down her cheeks as she squeezed her eyes shut with a short laugh. "No more badass than you, man."
She moved back to let the others have their turn, but she still stood straight, chest puffed out, practically glowing with pride. Bumblebreak. Everything she had pushed for, worked for, finally coming to fruition.
Then it was done. Batblood. Marshowl. Two more brilliant warriors, and this time Bumblebreak could not resist the urge to give them both a congratulatory shove with a joyous laugh. "Lookit us! Finally!"
Tragedy had struck this evening, for sure. But even amongst it, there was victory and hope for a brighter future.
Bumblebreak had never been more excited to be a part of it.

Re: ThunderClan Medicine Cat's Den
Originally, Bushpaw was going to just skip going to the medicine den entirely and scream to himself in the den about how much of a horrible brother he was. But, he knew it probably wasn’t smart and it would get infected, and then he would die. And he didn’t want that...yet. Plus, his scars stung and hurt insufferably, so he wouldn’t be able to ignore them for long. He sighed as he entered the den of miracles, and there was a small bit of comfort that came with being in there. Was it that at that very den queens learned that they would have little bundles of joy? Or was it how cats deathly wounded was able to run around with their family and friends again because of it. Whatever it was, Bushpaw enjoyed the little feeling of it. But, he realized he was spacing out in his own thoughts, and realized why he was actually there in the first place. “Hey, I’m sorry if I’m bothering you at all, I just have some claw marks from a warrior on my chest and mouth, uh, so if I could have them treated please?”
As he sat down on the soft nest of moss, that’s when his mind flashed to his sisters again. All of his sisters, and he missed their ceremonies. He hadn’t seen two of them for most of his life (granted, he hadn’t been living long) and then he went and gone to hang out with his best friend he could’ve seen at any moment just because he saw something scary. He felt guilty, extremely guilty. That was the best moment of their lives, and Bushpaw had missed it. So, what Bushpaw did then had been what he never thought he would ever thought he would ever do in a million years.
“WAAaAaAUGggHHH”
There had went any chance of him being respected, ever. He tried taking deep breaths, but every time he tried it was just another raspy breath desperately holding onto consciousness. That sobbing has everything. Nose dripping, feeling as if someone pinched it and was pressing it into his skull. Throat closed, making every breath seem like if he didn’t fight to continue, he’d wake up belly up in Starclan, but it only felt like it. He tried apologizing to Sundust, but he still couldn’t do anything. To stop crying was all he wished for at that moment, but alas, tears were unstoppable. He just hoped this was what he would be viewed as for the rest of time.

Re: The Thunderwillow
Cindersky
Feeling the gentle press of her head against her chest, Cindersky allowed a purr to radiate throughout her chest. Her head came to rest on top of Cloudyflight and she offered her former apprentice a comforting lick across the top of it. ”I am so proud of you, Cloudyflight. You are already a warrior that ThunderClan is honored to have. Everything you have worked for, and strived for - this is the day to relish in it all.” Once the younger cat pulled back, Cindersky regarded her with admiration, pride shimmering in her blue gaze.
Watching Cloudyflight embrace this moment with her siblings around her, Cindersky briefly recalled her own siblings. Ivythorn, Alderbranch - they had all been named warriors on the same day. Unfurling in all three of their chests was pride in finally, finally, being recognized for their diligent efforts. It was a day she had never forgotten, and knew that for as long as they lived, neither would the giddy new warriors before her.
Her ears moved in the direction of Jaystride as the tom began to speak. He called forward another apprentice, and inwardly Cindersky cursed herself for not remembering to have the apprentice step up as well. Perhaps a side effect of the nerves that were racing up and down her paws. Nonetheless, the apprentice would be called forward and given a proper warrior name.
Bumblebreak. Batblood. Marshowl. Three wonderful names for three wonderful cats. They had all worked hard and dedicated themselves to the cause of bettering ThunderClan.
Never having met another soul as passionate as Bumblebreak’s, Bumblebreak not only demanded the respect of ThunderClan, Bumblebreak had earned it through hard work and dedication to breaking the cycle that came before. Bumblebreak had shown through hard work and fiery passion that the bright future the Clan desperately needed was in the capable paws of its youth. Cindersky recalled their first outing in which Bumblebreak had all but annihilated her verbally - most of which was deserved. And now, standing here before her, Bumblebreak was a full warrior, finally acknowledged for all of Bumblebreak’s heart. It truly was a glorious day.
Despite her personal critique of the name selected, Cindersky knew that Batblood would become a force to be reckoned with - he already was. Speaking his mind, breaking away from the “yes” mold and formulating his own opinions and voicing them. There was not much more that she could ask for in a new warrior of the Clan.
Marshowl she was not too familiar with, but Cindersky had known her to be friends with the apprentices group. She had fought hard in the battle, like Jaystride had said, and held off a RiverClan warrior on her own. That alone was enough to warrant her new rank and the title of a warrior of ThunderClan.
As the cheers rose up around her - Cindersky joining in with resounding praise - her gaze noticed a familiar face emerge in the crowd. Softpaw seemed to be doing at least a little better in the days following the gathering fiasco. She shot the young she-cat a warm smile and nodded her head to acknowledge that she was there.
Once things had simmered down, Cindersky stepped forward once more. ”New warriors of ThunderClan, it will be your duty to sit vigil tonight. Take this moment to recognize the effort and hard work put in, and know that because of you, ThunderClan faces a brighter future.” Cindersky dipped her head to all of the new warriors, smiling.
”Before this meeting comes to a close, there is one last thing we need to discuss as a Clan. It has been moons since the passing of Aspenstrike and the disappearance of Dogbark. We have come together as a Clan, united, but the matter of selecting a new leader and deputy is long overdue. So, I want to propose something a little less traditional than our old ways.”
Great StarClan, she was nervous. Sucking in a quick breath, Cindersky calmed her rattled nerves, although none of it showed on her face still. ”Along with selecting a new leader and deputy, we have a council that advises them. Working together at the forefront of ThunderClan, ensuring that the daily duties to continue running this Clan are carried out. Ceremonies, patrols, training… all of this would be the cumulative work of both the leader, the deputy, and their council. If the leader and deputy fail to do their job, then the council will step in and a vote will be called to replace them.” It sounded pretty good, and in a different direction than the previous one that ThunderClan had been going down.
After a brief pause, Cindersky decided to add the last part. ”And at the risk of having disagreements,” Cindersky paused to gauge the reaction of the crowd, ”I propose that we vote on our next leader and deputy now, trusting each other as a Clan should, rather than wait for StarClan to give us a sign.”
Part of her felt like she had no need to dissect her reasoning for such a decision. StarClan, as far as she was concerned, had turned their back on ThunderClan at the end of their last leadership. Although she was convinced it was not because they were forsaken, no. It was because they had to prove themselves once more as a Clan to be respected. Hopefully by voting together as a Clan on the new high ranks, they could set their paws on that path.
[ YOU ARE WELCOME TO HAVE YOUR CHARACTER REACT TO THIS AND PROPOSE A LEADER/DEPUTY FOR THUNDERCLAN TO BE THEN VOTED ON IF YOU WISH! ]

Meadowsplash
Oooh! Meadowsplash peeked into the crowd, excited. Meadowstar...Meadowstar! She loved the name, excited as a kit. She was ready. But she knew she wasn't going to be picked. After all, she was unpopular.

Re: The Thunderwillow
Amberbloom shuddered. “Agh. Leader. Not for me.” She thought it over. Ugh. Who do I know that’s worthy to be deputy or leader? “Don’t pick me.” She said to a small cat next to her.
