with no show of snakechaser and an appreciative look shot at mudskip, sagepaw spoke up. "we should go, I don't think snakechaser is gonna come." he said, casting a glance over at thrashercall before turning and leaving through the entrance. hopefully he wouldn't fuss over the fact that they'd decided to step up as the patrol leader for a moment.

arriving at the humid bog, the apprentice looked at the warrior. "we can meet back up here, if that sounds good." they said with a small shrug, then walked off in their own direction. they'd never been here before (well, they'd been near it if that counted) and quite frankly had no experience hunting muskrats. maybe it won't be so hard, they thought, sniffing the air. catching a scent almost right off the bat, they headed towards it, crouching down once they saw a rather ugly creature. what!! that thing was huge!! how was she supposed to catch that without wrestling it?

after a long moment of hesitating, they darted towards the rodent. leaping at the muskrat that was stationed near the water, she ignored the way it thrashed and bit wherever she could. luckily, her tactic worked, as the muskrat was dead after a second or so.

How much time had passed, Jaystride wasn't sure. The world remained a blur, disorienting as day began to break. In the light of dawn, he could examine his wounds closer -- and yikes, it was probably for the best he was unable to attend the gathering. They were festering, an angry combination of yellow and black skin partially concealed by his dark fur.

He made an attempt to rise again, only to feel more pain rip through his shoulders. He didn't want to look again to see what further damage he inflicted upon himself, as he finally got to his paws and made the unsteady walk back into the direction of camp.

"Well, some other cats where hunting near me and this one smelled good..." she looked at the mouse and dropped it. "At least it's fat" she told Meadow'splash.

The dark colored tom lets out a huff of annoyance. He wanted to go out with his sister today - maybe find a victim or something. He lets out a hiss, stretching. He looks up at a tree that has it's limbs intertwined with another.

Thrashercall looks over his shoulder, his murky colored eyes darkening. 'Apprentice already caught something, eh? Well. I bet I can do better!' The competitive cat thinks to himself with a dark grin. He begins to dig his claws into the tree, pulling himself up branch by branch. He looks over his shoulder - looking at Sagepaw - awkwardly. Hard to look over your shoulder when you are climbing. He pulls himself to the first branch, looking around. He can easily jump to the ground, the first branch it not very high, not any higher than he is used to - he spots a muskrat near the base of the tree. 'Stupid, idiotic creature.' He thinks, as he jumps down from the tree, landing on top fo the animal with a snap.

He is not hurt. The muskrat's spine is snapped. He watches the creature struggle - somehow, it is alive - and he bites the neck to kill it. He licks to blood off of his chest and muzzle, grinning darkly at the red liquid that pools around the animal from it's punctured jugular vein.

She padded off, a bit moody. She would sniff and could smell a rabbit. She crawled into her hunting stance and prawled forward. She gazed ahead and saw a very plump rabbit. She git closer and accidentally rustled a leaf. The rabbit leaped away, but Golden'paw was fast enough. She pounced on it and killed it. She then carried it back to Meadwoe'splash.
"Here." she huffed after dropping the rabbit in front of her.
