He turned to Flamepaw again. She cast him a sad glance, and he wondered what she was thinking about. You know what? Maybe we can train together in our free time. It would be fun, and I'd also like to do some more other than with my mentor. @SpiritedWarrior

Flamepaw’s expression went from sad to surprised. PHe’d really do that for me? I guess it wouldn’t hurt to train with him… after all, he could get more practice and skill… maybe he wants to become a great warrior like me!

“I’d love to!” She purred. “Maybe whoever my mentor turns out to be can take us both out one of these days… what do you still need to do? Not that Darkpetal isn’t a bad mentor, because he seems really great, but I want to make sure you aren’t learning the same thing twice…”

She continued to keep her voice down, but raised it every once in a while so Darkpetal could hear given that he was talking with Ashpaw. Oh, StarClan please don’t let him think I was being rude by fluctuating my voice…

Darkpetal noticed the volume of Flamepaw’s voice changing. He thought of it of her being stressed about losing her old mentor(who would be her new mentor?) and ignored it. “I wouldn’t mind if you two wanted to train together.” Darkpetal turned to Ashpaw,“I haven’t gone over hunting with Ashpaw yet, so you can teach him what you know before I show him the rest, considering that you’ve been an apprentice for… longer.” He didn’t want to hurt Flamepaw’s feelings so he shut his maw.

“I don’t know much about hunting, to be honest,” Flamepaw managed to admit through a sigh. “But I can ask whoever my mentor is to train us both on hunting!”

Her mood improved as she realized Darkpetal wasn’t upset with the fact Ashpaw wanted to train with a fellow apprentice. Maybe it’s normal for apprentices to be trained by more than one mentor… in that case, I don’t have to worry! the older apprentice happily thought to herself, though she did want to say those words out loud. However, she didn’t want to interrupt the meeting, something important was bound to happen soon!

“I’ve yet to be in a patrol, so I hope I could be in it too!” She laughed. “I hope to get some patrol experience… otherwise it would be embarrassing if I was made a warrior and haven’t had any.”

Flamepaw let the laughter die down before she added her next comment, “I’ve battle trained a couple times and did a territory tour. I don’t know the borders but I’m sure my next mentor will show me.”

Darkpetal was happy that the two apprentices were getting along well. “I wonder who’s going on the patrols.” He flicked his gaze over to where Cinderstar stood, curious to find out about what she had to say.

I haven't seen the borders either, maybe our mentors will accompany us together! Ashpaw was already so excited, he forgot they all were waiting under the Thunderwillow for an announcement.

“Maybe!” She purred, glancing over at Darkpetal. “I’d love to get to know our Clanmates better, I haven’t really interacted with Darkpetal all that much…”

Flamepaw’s orange tail twitched every so often as she spoke, it was a way for her to release energy without being obnoxious. Hopefully during a border tour, she’d get a lot of energy out. What better way to spend it than protecting ThunderClan??
