ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Laying down near the base of the Thunderwillow was Sootwhisper, a black tom with white spots below his eyes. He nodded his head to mourn for Robinflight, "Robinflight will be missed" He mewed, but then the announcement of Cinderpaw's death came, like everyone else though, Sootwhisper originally thought that Cinderpaw was missing, not dead. But she was dead, and it didn't seem like it was from Skystar. Maybe from a rogue?

Sootwhisper decided to speak up, "Well, have you seen the clans lately? It's just been madness, especially gatherings. Skystar's been criticizing cats, even exiling one, Dawnstar's been Dawnstar. Stars, even Twilightstar or the deputies of ShadowClan, RiverClan or WindClan don't seem great. The last gathering was a mess, we were just coming out of a large battle, but it still seemed tough" The clans were falling, and Sootwhisper knew it.

Sootwhisper felt worried about the clans, what was the future? What is going to happen in a few moons? Will the clans collapse or be replaced by a bunch of rogues and loners? Will every leader die and we would be taken over by rogues? Sootwhisper didn't know, in fact, nobody knew. This was it, it was over, everything was collapsing in front of everyone in the clans, it was just coming down over the leaders and deputies

The Siamese was haunted with every step she came closer to her home. The claws that had pierced her neck and back were raking her back with their ghostly grip. Her pelt was healed from infections and her flesh was purified from rot, but her heart and mind were tainted. The memories kept coming back with a pained fury. She couldnt forget the terror. It wanted to find camp. It wanted to find.... Someone.

Dying was growing old. Number two. It was.... Dark. It was scary. To die. But she kept coming back and she hated it. She hated having to come back. She came back of course, for Rainhound. She wouldn't bother going through life and death again if there wasn't the prospect of starting a family with her love. Of growing old with her. Houndspirit stopped shakily, her pale face and blank eyes searching the undergrowth. Someone was coming. Her heart hammered her chest and the thin molly unsheathed her claws. Just in case.

Lakestorm heard the kit “ She’s right… we can’t keep yelling like this we are warriors, we should all know better, if we are to criticize him, we are nothing better than him!” He announced and looked at his clan mates for a minute “Yes I know some of us… have fire or ice of rage in our veins but Robinflight, the smartest and bravest warrior along with Cinderpaw, the kindest and most valued apprentice in the clan, would they want us yowling and throwing a bunch of insults at them? No, they would want us to move on even if life is hard without them!” He stood up looking at the kit “You are wise little one”

Lakestorm was getting to mad, he looked up at cinderstar and with a look saying, “I’m sorry” he ran out of the camp and into the forest

Briarleaf lay in the middle of the clearing, enjoying the feel of the sunshine on her fur. She knew she'd have to get up soon and find a hunting patrol to join, but for now, the light brown she-cat was quite comfortable.

"Good," she nodded and switched into a sitting position. "I have to go... but I'll see you around, okay? Maybe I'll come back later and we can practice again, but I can't promise that since I have my training to do."

Huh?! Is she actually leaving? What about the badger ride? Is she punishing the kit by not giving him a badger ride? But..but he deserved to do a badger ride for promising! It was unacceptable to Blazingkit! He wanted to scream at her, throwing every insult he knew from queens who cursed. He would have done it, but he couldn’t because he has to be respectful. Anger boiled inside him. Now, just a thought of Flamepaw only made him brought some water out of his eyes because of some stupid complexed emotions and gritted teeth of the emotion that he knew well: resentment.

Blazingkit said nothing, he could only glare. He was speechless… he was upset.

"Oh! Now wait a minute... what was I forgetting?" Flamepaw tilted her head in thought and widened her eyes as it clicked in her memory. Blazingkit's badger ride! I have to fulfill my promise. "Oh, yes... now I remember!"

Flamepaw turned around and crouched to allow Blazingkit to get on without difficulty, "Sorry, Blazingkit... hop on! I'll give you a quick badger ride and drop out off back at the nursery. We can make a quick stop at the prey pile and get something to fill your belly and your fellow kits'. How does that sound?"

The kit was still speechless, but was now surprised. All he could think was that Flamepaw was an alright apprentice with an alright mentor. Shivering with excitement, Blazingkit only nodded and tried to get himself on Flamepaw’s back and, if he could, wrap his tiny paws around her neck to keep himself from falling off.

Flamepaw assisted Blazingkit and kept still until she was sure the kit could stabilize himself. Gosh, this kit is bigger than the rest... I wonder when he'll get his apprentice ceremony. But I can't worry about that now, I have to give him what I promised: a badger ride.

As the tom wrapped his paws around Flamepaw's neck, she kept herself from leaning one way or the other while standing up. And now for the ride! determination set out across her face and the older apprentice began to stomp her way out of the nursery, reenacting the best badger-walk she could.

Hazelkit nodded excitedly at Juniperkit's suggestion. If they visited the apprentices' den, they might find one to show them a battle move! Plus, they wouldn't be an adult either, so they would still be able to have fun. "That's a great idea, brother! Let's see if one of the older apprentices can show us a battle move!" the Siamese she-kit mewed excitedly before she turned and dashed towards the apprentices' den without waiting for Juniperkit's response.
