Beepaw simply nodded at his gesture, too drained to say or do anything else.
She tensed as Cowpaw’s nose touched her damp cheek, unsure. This…was new. No one had ever given her physical comfort before. How was she supposed to react to this? She stiffly sat there as the medicine cat’s tail brushed her backside, listening to his soothing purr rise and fall with each of his breaths. Eventually, she found herself relaxing bit by bit, as if being thawed by his warm nature. She found herself purring, too; in a much softer and less potent tone than Cowpaw’s, but it was a purr nonetheless.
When Cowpaw pulled away, Beepaw was a little disappointed, but she knew he had to treat her wound sometime. She sighed and let the medicine cat do his work, staring down at the poppy flower he offered her earlier. It was…really nice of him to five her this. She’d only been with Cowpaw for less than a couple moments, and he’d already given her a gift, comforted her, reassured her, and treated her wounds…her speckled tail-tip gently caressed the flower, grateful that she came here.
She nodded once again when he instructed her on the wound. "Thank you." Beepaw dipped her head at him, then glanced at her now cobweb-wrapped shoulder. She wasn't too thrilled to be wearing it...at least it'd only be for a few days.
“Would you like.. to hear a joke.. ?”
Beepaw looked back up at Cowpaw, brows raised in surprise at the question. A…joke? The tortoiseshell she-cat finally smiled. “I would love to hear a joke.”
Skyleaf couldn't see Hickorypaw anymore. Raising her eyebrows, she wandered around, trying to find him, but to no avail. Had he gone back to camp already? Hopefully. With a sigh, she proceeded to carry the cobwebs she had collected in her maw, and began to walk back. She looked around, trying to locate Hickorypaw. But she guessed she would just have to report his disappearance to Cowpaw...
Carrying her stick covered in cobwebs back to camp, Skyleaf looked for Cowpaw, ready to report that her patrol was completed. When she spotted the medicine cat, she hurried over, smiling at him. She dropped the stick of cobwebs in front of him, on a dry patch of ground that wouldn’t make them dirty. With her tail, she gestured to Hickorypaw, who had appeared again and had apparently been looking for spiders. “We’re back from collecting cobwebs. Everything went well and everyone’s back safe. Hickorypaw has collected some cobwebs as well...” She showed Cowpaw the cobwebs that Hickorypaw had gathered. “...I hope those are enough for you.”
Following in the pawsteps of the young apprentice, the tom stopped when Ivypaw stopped. The brown feline swayed his tail. "I'm sure you've heard that were the fastest clan? Normally we just outrun out prey and pounce on it." He said, smiling slightly, he wasn't used to an apprentice being nice to him, since he was stuck being Possumpaw's mentor.
( Ivypaw | she/her )
Ivypaw listened curiously, nodding as Treewing explained. That seemed simple enough, maybe WindClan hunting wasn’t so fast anymore. She guessed all she had to do to was improve on her speed a little, and in no time she’d be able to hunt like WindClan cats with ease. “How about... you show me how WindClan cats hunt, and then I’ll try to hunt like you did?” she suggested. She hoped that would work with Treewing.
His ears pinned when the apprentice had asked him to give an example- great starclan he didnt want to run today. Treewing reluctantly stood. "Right.. Yes- of course!" He meowed, an uneasy feeling washing over him. "Just- watch me?" He asked Ivypaw, and began stretching his legs, and tasting the air.

Hickorypaw | he/him
Aha! He hit the jackpot! Using a stick to scoop up a good ball of webs with some spiders crawling around in there, the pudgy tok squirmed out of the hole he was in before dashing back to skyleaf, "I got some spiders! Let's go give them to Cowpaw! he announced proudlybefore beginning to follow her back to camp
"I got some...spiders! Just like you asked for!" the tom spoke around the stick in his mouth, eyes occasionally flicking to the arachnids crawling over the end of the cobweb wrapped stick. While Skyleaf dropped her haul on the ground, Hickorypaw held his off of it to avoid having any of the spiders run away.

She was back at it again, swallowed whole by the darkness of the tunnels, and hunting down a stray rabbit as it weaved and ran through the tunnels for its life with the brown she-cat hard on its tail. She could taste the rabbit's fear scent as it turned abruptly, diving into another section of the tunnels. Dustbunny smiled to herself, slipping into a separate tunnel and slowing her steps slightly as the ground sloped upwards, as she headed or the wide opening at the far end of the tunnel. If her prediction was correct, that rabbit had to be tiring out. It was in unfamiliar tunnels, although it knew how to avoid running into walls, it clearly didn't know how to get out otherwise it still wouldn't be down here with her.
As the molly entered a new tunnel, she paused, swinging her head up when she felt the sharp gust of air blow against the top of ear ears and bring with it the fresh heather scented air. There was a hole, a large one, that hadn't been here the other day. It reeked of something foul.... but that couldn't be right?! The distress noise coming from up ahead reminded Dustbunny that she was hunting. She cast the hole one more long look before padding past it deeper into the tunnels where it opened up into the old warren. She found the air, seemingly trying to climb its' way out, reaching for the tree roots above were some light filtered into the old warren.
Before it could detect her, Dustbunny snuck up behind it and sprung, sinking her claws and fangs into the rabbit's back and ending its life before it put up too big of a struggle. With another piece of prey to add to the pile, she headed for the passageway out.
Badgerpaw felt more relaxed than he ever has been. Feeling grass beneath his paws and on his back was already more freedom than he could ever ask for, especially since he wasn't in his old house-folk's territory anymore. Closing his eyes, the tom sprawled out on the grass of the clearing, but he quickly sat up at Twilightstar's beckoning.
"Coming!" he yowled back to the leader as he rose to his paws and began to pad over to her. Although he was still trying to get used to seeing a cat who was half-blind, Badgerpaw didn't let it get in the way of his focus for long. This is about training, I have to focus if I ever want to be a valuable member of the Clan! he puffed out his chest and went back to normal as soon as he realized Laurelpaw would be accompanying them. Oh, that's right! Twilightstar talked about this after the meeting! I wonder what Laurelpaw is like...
As soon as he reached the scarred WindClan leader, his gaze went from serious to excited. Now, what's this? Twilightstar asked him if he ever hunted rabbit?? With a sigh, Badgerpaw looked down, remembering his house-folk's code about other 'pets'.
"No, I've never hunted rabbit. Only mice," he explained. "My house-folk- I mean, my two-legs, never let me hunt their pet rabbits. It was a part of their 'code'..."

Hickorypaw was off training, Fernpaw was... somewhere, Eldersky was gone... There was really no one left to talk to in the Clan that she found she could get along with, so with a heavy sigh she rested her head on her crossed paws and observed her Clanmates.
It wasn't long before she noticed Twilightstar, and how the leader looked to be lost in thought. Mismatched eyes staring, she quickly realized that the lilac leader was calling her name alongside the name Badgerpaw. Whoever that was. With a grunt the black and white she-cat pushed herself to her paws and padded over, only stopping as she noticed just who this 'Badgerpaw' was.
Oh no. Absolutely not. What was this about?? Laurelpaw let out a snarl, but soon the leader and the outsider were already disappearing through the entrance so she had no choice but to huff and follow them. Her claws unsheathed and scrapped against the earth, leaving fine divots in the soil as she lashed her tail. Twilightstar had asked if Badgerpaw had ever hunted before, and he was babbling on about some 'code' his two-legs had. Pfft. Whatever.
Laurelpaw was resolute to be as silent as she could be on this outing, made more apparent by the irritated look she wore. She took a seat on the moorland as her eyes scanned around. Ears moving to pick up the question Twilightstar had asked her, she simply gave a shrug but didn't bother looking over at her. "Fine," she replied coolly, unwilling to go into any detail about what 'fine' meant.
Twilighstar swerved her ear in Badgerpaw's direction as he replied to her question. Since he's been lacking when it came to hunting rabbits she'd probably have to work on building up his speed and endurance. It'd probably be better to start him on prey that he's hunting before then. "That's alright, I'll teach you that later. How about smaller prey, mice, chipmunks, squirrels?" She asked, tipping her head back and parting her maw to breathe in the scents around her. WindClan primarily hunted rabbits, but they had other prey like field mice, small birds, chipmunk, and so on. "I want to see how well you hunt yourself before offering you any tips, go see what you can find, but don't go too far I need to be able to see you." Twilightstar told him, and then glanced over to Laurelpaw.
Lovely, she was being difficult. The signs of displeasure and frustration were easy enough to pick up, but Twilightstar didn't take any of it personally. This wasn't the first time she's had to pry information out of unwilling apprentices. She decided to settle on one problem at a time. "Is the reason you dislike Badgerpaw because he wasn't born in the clan?" She inquired, before adding. "You don't have to answer any of my questions if you don't want to. At the moment I'm just trying to listen and learn, but if you're too annoyed or don't want to share I'm not going to push." She explained with an inquisitive glint in her single eye.

Badgerpaw listened inquisitively as Twilightstar asked her question. She wanted him to hunt, to show off what he knows! Now, this was a challenge he'd gladly accept. This is my chance to prove to Twilightstar I can live in WindClan, I can't mess up! he puffed out his chest fur and smirked, it didn't take him long for him to taste the air just as Twilightstar had just done. It was fairly easy to detect a mouse or two- not too far away from where the group was standing. Crouching down, the tuxedo tom began to stalk, remembering to stay as quiet as possible. It was actually the easiest thing he found that the Clans did.
Keeping his tail as still as possible and his haunches as low as they could go, Badgerpaw let the wind carry his scent toward camp. It was easy enough, how hard could hunting a mouse be? He had plenty of experience from the twoleg place! Opening his jaws to take in the scent, double-checking his surroundings, the tom made his move and slowed down ever so slightly. Narrowing his eyes (which is something he hardly ever does), Badgerpaw unsheathed his claws and sprinted forward, jumping after only two bounds. A mouse's tail ended up being directly under his paw, so Badgerpaw quickly snapped its neck with a quick blow from his other paw. That was very simple, though he possibly allowed the other animals in the area to know that they were being hunted. Oops... oh well, Twilightstar will be happy with this mouse. I'm not too far away, am I?
The WindClan apprentice looked back to see that Twilightstar and Laurelpaw were having a conversation. Something regarding Laurelpaw's behavior, he assumed. The only thing he could do was grab his catch and walk as slow as he could to give them both time to themselves in case it was something that wasn't meant for his ears. So that's what he did, though he got closer to them faster than he expected, so he just sat down and began to clean his chest fur smooth. It bothered him to have it ruffled, that was for sure.
