Luckily Firekit wasn't angry with him, but now getting up seemed like a hard task. She wasn't as light as her appearance gave away, but Milkkit wouldn't announce it loudly. How impolite it would be, to call a she-cat heavy! But while he returned on his paws, he fought with the urge to change his mind. Never mind.

"I'm okay, don't worry." He took some steps around to show it. "See? I'm stronger than you think!" He wouldn't say aloud that his back ached, since he didn't want her to feel bad for him. She looks worried already, and I'll be fine.
Milkkit gave another resigned look at the moss ball, then scanned the clearing determined to find something else to do. Maybe something safer, even.
"Mhh... Maybe we can play hide and seek?" But we are just two, and I don't think it will be very funny..." And Milkkit wasn't even great when it came to hiding. He bet that Firekit would find him super quickly. Maybe they should ask other kits to join them? But it would be easier to change game and find something else...
He glanced at his friend. "I'll leave you the choice."

Tulippaw placed the rabbit she had caught on top of the fresh-kill pile, then paused. Eww, the stuff on here reeked! It seemed as though nobody had eaten prey in a while. The calico really didn't want to get her paws dirty, but she had to - after all, she had to show everyone how responsible she was! And no way did she want to eat any nasty prey. StarClan forbid any of her friends ate it! It would be funny if Hawkblaze ate a bad piece, though... Tulippaw pushed the thought from her mind, not wanting any rancid prey on the pile. The beautiful calico cleared the nine bad pieces away, then dropped her one fresh rabbit on the pile.

~ TULIPPAW OF WINDCLAN ~

After clearing out the nine bad pieces of prey and washing her paws off as best she could, Tulippaw went over to Fallownose. Her fur was immaculate, as always, and she appeared both as sweet as the flower-scent that clung to her pelt and rather proud of herself. Upon reaching the deputy, she gave him a respectful dip of her head before launching into the report. She couldn't wait to tell him all about how responsible she'd been, and about how awful Nightheart was at teaching! "Nightheart and I went to the Sky Glade to hunt rabbits. Hawkblaze hasn't taught me how to hunt yet, so Nightheart tried to." Tulippaw's formal, sweet voice changed a bit as her pretty pink nose wrinkled slightly. "She failed miserably and taught me all the wrong techniques! Keep in mind that I hadn't been taught anything when she chased a rabbit in my direction and told me to catch it. I wasn't able to, of course, but that was her fault, not mine."

Tulippaw took a deep breath to calm herself and continued, keeping her voice formal but not hiding her scorn, "She then made me try to catch another rabbit by once again scaring some toward me instead of actually teaching me how to catch them myself. And I caught one! But it was all me, not her. As ashamed as I am to admit it, all I did was make a wild leap and sink my teeth into its neck rather sloppily. But I made the best with the horrible teacher I'd been assigned to and came back here to report. Nightheart should be back soon." The apprentice's ears twitched. "I know I sound harsh, but I would never dare speak so rudely about another warrior without good reason. But I was wondering, with all due respect, if she could get an assessment so someone could see how good her hunting techniques are? She seemed a little... backward." That much was true.

Tulippaw took a step back, not leaving but giving Fallownose more room. "Oh, and I cleaned out the bad pieces of prey from the pile. My rabbit's the only one on there. Hopefully, the other hunting patrols have a good catch." With that, the calico waited to see if Fallownose would reply, and wondered what he would say about Nightheart.

"I'm glad you're okay," Firekit purred with a smile on her maw "And you are quite strong, I'm sure in a few moons you'll be a wonderful apprentice! I was worried I squashed you," the young she-cat admitted. As misguided as it was, she was actually relieved to hear that Milkkit was okay.

She stopped fussing over the younger tom and at his question, tilted her head in thought. "You're right, playing tag with just the both of us would be kinda boring," the orange tabby agreed, she also doubted that it would be all that much fun when both of their pelts would stick out considerably in their surroundings. Tag would also be a no go because then I'd just catch him because I'm bigger She thought absentmindedly. Sitting on her haunches, she turned her attention back to her companion "How about we take a break?" She asked, "We can sit out here and just talk if that's alright with you?".

At first Milkkit had had the impression that Firekit was just an over excited kit who wanted to play all the time, but now he felt bad for thinking it. His new friend had proved to be also kind and sensitive as well, and he knew they would be good friends from now on.
But Firekit was already 5 moons old, so she would be apprenticed before him. He guessed she would have to do a lot of chores while he would still be waiting to reach 6 moons... Better to make the better out of this time, then.

"Yes, I would like to rest for a bit. I'm also hungry, but I don't know if we can pick up something from the fresh-kill pile..." he glanced at the inviting heap on the other side of the camp. "Would you like to eat something? Maybe we can ask a warrior." If Fireflymeadow was in sight, he would go and ask her. Ashclaw was still racing with the others on the moor, so there weren't many cats remaining here.

"How are you, with the kits so close to being due?" Hawknight asked. He had to make sure his mate was healthy. The kits had to be healthy as well.

(hey so I got the idea to make Hawknight an even more protective and helicopter dad, what if they had a stillborn kit? I'd RP it in starclan, and its few posts as a dead kit. perhaps a tom named Bramblekit?)

Blueleap sighed as the little blue and white kit settled down and pulled her tail away from him, before resting her head back down on the moss nest. Furzeshine figured that she must be hungry after kitting so he swiftly padded off into the clearing to bring her a piece of freshkill.

It was relatively quiet now in the nursery, well besides the voices of Milkkit and Firekit, most of her kits were asleep now, so that was nice. She was about to fall sleep herself when she felt little pins push down onto her back paw, her head snapped up to see what was biting her and she saw a blue and white tomkit- Hailkit was it? With his little tiny jaws around her paw, she immediately pulled him off her foot, and glared at him with her eyes dilated as a warning, even though the tom couldn't see her just yet. She set the tom back down before resting her head back down.

Hail’Kit started wailing loudly when the paw he was chewing on was taken away. He also felt anger from the Mom cat, but didn’t really understand it, so he didn’t stop wailing.
