Rainhound sighed as more cats joined. There was no need. Did no one think she could handle a situation by herself? She was a full-grown warrior, just like them, and very fierce at that. When it came to defending her clan and her loved ones, she could go absolutely bonkers. Did they think she was not good enough to be a warrior, or perhaps not old enough? Had she not done enough to prove herself?
After letting out a very exasperated sigh, she returned to the situation at paw. So Crocus had been accepted into the clan by Sparrowstar? He was perfectly fine, then. She turned to look at Mudsplash and Vineglow.
"It seems the situation has been resolved," she mewed in the calmest way possible. "I believe we can all disperse now and leave Crocus to talk with Vixenkit. Let's not give him second thoughts about joining ThunderClan." With a respectful nod to the two warriors, she turned to the stranger.
"My apologies for this. It's just that there have been some rogue attacks on ThunderClan recently, and it is always better to be safe and sorry. I'm Rainhound. Feel free to ask me if you ever need help with finding your way around camp, or anything else. I'm always open. I'll let you talk with Vixenkit now." She offered him a tiny smile, hoping to make him feel more at home after that situation. Okay, hold on. It seemed Mudsplash still did not trust the former kittypet.
"Why not, Mudsplash? What makes you think he is lying? I believe that he has no need to, and I am sure Sparrowstar will say something if he is not meant to be here. He doesn't seem like a threat, and Sparrowstar sure would have done something if he were an unwanted guest."
“Apologies ” Vineglow nodded before bumping Mudsplash with her tail “Have some sense, will you?”, padding to a clear space under the thunderwillow @friendlyghostz

The tabby stepped up to the meeting,The longer over due one. He passed by a few cats talking about Cindersky…’Stop Lying,She didn’t just step down. She’s dead,Stop denying it. You complete mousebrain,Stop lying to that child. You are as useless for spreading misinformation. She lost her life in a tragic and you just chalk her up to a Stepping Down.’ He gave the cat a disgusted look as he spoke up. “Don’t you dare disrespect her like that again. You simply can’t fathom what she has done for you,you child. You asked a question aloud,what did you expect.” He spoke just above a whisper as he passed by the kit,his words were harsh,ice cold as he gave the kit a look of pure anger then he turned away and kept on his way to the front. { @Raven~ @Dirtfur }
The tomcat padded slowly to the front,shoving his way if needed. His tail lashing,out of pure rage. His green eyes locked onto whatever dared cross his path. These cats were…stupid. Mud filling their ears. Cindersky wasn’t one to be disrespected at any point and time. She had earned her lives and Leader position,nobody else had managed to bring them back from Dawnstars attacks faster than her. The sandy tabby sat. Lashing his tail as it slapped the ground as it did so.
Longpelt locked eyes with the leader,Sparrowstar. Hopefully a new era of Thunderclans graces once more. He scanned the Tree for the Deputy. Copperfire was a trustful cat,hopefully better than the last few deputies they had allowed into power such as Glidingfeather or Eveningstar and Duskfeather. Thunderclan had an issue,He knew that. Everyone should. They could not keep High Ranks to save starclan. It had felt like he was watching just as Duskstar rose to power then crumbled after the fire. Let alone Softbriar just leaving the clan In Ruin. Longpelt had resented the deputy for leaving the clan in a state like that. But he was only an Apprentice then,Longpaw.
He wouldn’t,he couldn’t see another one of those deputies turn into Softbriar or Duskstar. The tomcat returned his eyes to the leader. Her pale fur easy to see among the greenery of the leaves and the soft browns of the bark. Longpelt sat waiting,it felt like forever. He watched cats walk by,none trying to talk to him. He liked it that way,cats minding their own business. The tabby’s tail kept lashing,hitting the grass with a light tapping noise.
Then it hit his nose..The Loner scent. He slowly turned around to see the tiny crowd gather around the child. He called out to his clan mates loudly. “Sit down. If Sparrowstar lets him stay then so be it. What say do you all have in it. So shut it and sit down. You always find drama to start,embarrassing.” Longpelt turned back around,If Sparrowstar yelled at them it wasn’t his fault,They did it to themselves. { @neptune @marina @GlowLight23 @friendlyghostz @MaryTheCrow (For Copperfire To See Long,If you so please to tell him off) }

Instead of arguing, Vineglow just blunty responded “Maybe, just maybe we were all panicked because the nursery incident.” Before shuffling away

The young black and white tom heard the familiar words ring over the clearing and stopped on his way towards the camp entrance. Redirecting to put himself in clear view of the Thunderwillow, he sat down with his chin high.

Rainhound turned as Longpelt started speaking, throwing in useless insults. "Longpelt. We have it handled, and there is no need to be rude. We did not start drama, we merely made sure that there is no unwanted guest in camp." Her tone made it clear that there was nothing more to be said -- they had handled the situation and insults would not help with anything.
the clawmarks from the rogue still hurt slightly, but lucky for cloudy, they didn't seem to be getting infected. Yay her. There was a lot going on, but today, her grief forced her into a crouch beside the warrior's den entrance, eyes fluttering closed and opening periodically. She had a headache. And seeing Sparrowflight up there on the rock she usually saw her former mentor on just hit her deep, and her ears flattened against her head, pale blue hues darkening slightly. Only a moon ago she was so happy, and now, with Brightpath and her hardly spending time together, and her not having anyone to go to in her immense grief, she wasn't happy. Quite the opposite, actually.
It seemed that she missed something, and that was frustrating, but something Houndspirit could get over. It wasn't an attack, and nothing that needed her, but she would've preferred to make sure her mate was safe. padding closer, with a glance at this Crocus, and an cold stare at Longpelt, she brushed against her mate, silently reinforcing her love, but ready to intervene if anyone was an asshole to Rainhound.
Mudsplash's light hazel eyes first met Longtail's, their tail flicking impatiently. They weren't going to deal with insults, especially when all they were doing was protecting their home.
"I would rather start 'drama' then to allow someone to strut into camp. Sorry I would much rather prefer the safety of our clan then to later regret it, but insults will not help the situation," Mudsplash would retort, forcing themself to look upon the others. Although Longtail could be rude, he often spoke bluntly. Perhaps Mudsplash was being a little too nosy for their own good, and suddenly their insecurities made them question if they were doing the right thing.
Then they focused on Rainhound. Rainhound was someone Mudsplash definitely trusted, they always had their heart and their brain on the right path. If they didn't seem suspicious, then perhaps Mud shouldn't be either. They tried to wash down the doubtful feeling with their smarts. Come on, Mudsplash, use your head.
"Alright. I was simply curious- I do not see why Sparrowstar would invite a kittypet over if there weren't any other sort of intentions involved. I apologize sincerely to Crocus." They turned to the kittypet. "I am Mudsplash. If you ever need a paw, I'm all ears."
Finally, they turned to Vineglow as they bumped their side and basically told them off.
"I have sense," Mudsplash murmured, though doubt wavered their voice and made them unsure. They thought they had done the right thing- should they have chosen differently? Was trying to protect their clan someone else's job? With a weary sigh, they padded to an empty spot behind the gathering crowd, their gaze focused on their paws.
Shame burned their pelt like the sun blazing on their back. Maybe they should've left the problem to someone else. But what if nobody did anything? Would the clan still even exist if everyone acted like fruit flies, drifting around the world, doing nothing until they lived their lives? Shouldn't they care about the safety of others, even if it meant checking 'guests'?
With an embarrassed blink they forced themself to look at Sparrowstar, once again blotting out the voices of others. They could mope later. Right now, they had to pay attention, or else they'd be in the warriors den, sobbing for no reason. They were not going to deal with that again. Shutting of their emotions was something they needed to practice- and right now was the perfect moment to put their feelings on hold and wait to observe them.

Sage'bush trampled in from the the bushes, her new injury still throbbing. When she noticed Sparrow'star she waited patiently and sat near the two cats, one whom was a small kit, maybe 5 moons? Yes, five moons. As Sage'bush sat she began licking her wound, in hopes she would clean in good. @Jayvines

While her clanmates gathered beneath the tree, Sparrowstar caught a few odd looks and mutters that made her stomach twinge in anxiety. It was clear that she would have to prove herself even more to some of these cats, but what difference did a handful of clanmates make to the whole of Starclan watching her every move. Stars above, maybe she shouldn’t have put it like that…
However, she was quickly drawn from her musings as the former kittypet she had brought in began to receive some unwanted attention. Should she have prepped the clan for the acceptance of his appearance?... No, this was a normal enough occurrence (although unfortunate timing due to the recent rogue activity) and it seemed that although the initial confrontations had been harsh each of her warriors had eased off once Mudsplash had ascertained Crocus’s intentions and Rainhound quieted the group around him. Vixenkit seemed to have taken a shine to the jumpy tom, so she would let him stay in his spot for now. Perhaps the kit would be able to nudge the outsider in the right direction when she deemed it time to call on him.
“While there are… Quite a few things to cover today, I would like to announce that I have made the journey out to the Starcave with Sundust and have been appointed as Sparrowstar by Starclan,” she stated, the half-truth slipping through her teeth with ease as she dug her claws into the branch below her. Steady. Steady. She had rehearsed that line several times in her den. Sundust was the only one to know her truth, and she intended to keep it that way. “Additionally, I wish to acknowledge the return of several clanmates who had gone missing over the past few moons. Finchpaw, Wisteriapaw, Stormpaw, Deadflame, Breezewind, Wildspark, Lavendermask, Darkmoon, Mottlekit, Softshadow, Sootkit, and Sharppaw have all returned home and I expect them all to resume their training and duties as soon as possible.”
Briefly her emerald eyes flicked to several of the aforementioned cats, giving them a stern nod before continuing on a slightly more subdued note.
“While this moon has brought friends and family back to us, it has also taken some of our peers back up to our ancestors in the stars. Duskfall, Thunderchaser, and… Cindersky have all passed on, and as many of you know they have been buried at Willow’s Rise. If anyone wishes to pay their respects after this meeting, please feel free to do so.”
Allowing a moment of silence to wash over her peers, Sparrowstar bowed her head as she thought on the losses they’d incurred. Losing an elder was an expected, but tragic loss nonetheless. Losing two experienced warriors (one of them being her sister)… Well, that was certainly not a highlight of anyone's day. Slowly she swallowed the lump forming in her throat before lifting her gaze once again to her peers.
“In brighter news, today marks a very special moment for several of our kits and a new face I’m sure several of you have noticed in this meeting. Crowkit [ @SpiritedWarrior ], Hazelkit [ @NinjaBloss ], and Crocus [ @neptune ] please step forward.”
More apprenticeships were always a good thing. Thunderclan had not seen a warrior ceremony for a few moons now, and from what she recalled several of their apprentices should be WELL on their way towards changing that. But for now, fresh faces would join the trip towards warriorhood, and Sparrowstar could only hope that they would persevere.
