Mudkit frowned. "Ok." He mewed. The tom planned to check his reflection in the water later. He opened the injured eye, and it was a bit red, but there was luckily no moss. "Any moss bits?"

Ferretkit flanttened his ears. He knew Mudkit was fine but could he just be sorry? He grew quiet as he led the tom-kit to a puddle near the back of the nursery.

Slatestripe laughed. “We’ll, after Hollowstorm I suppose.” He sat down and gazed down at his friend. He wondered for a moment how many kits she’d have, and whether or not he’d eventually get to mentor one. He didn’t feel quite ready for an apprentice; nonetheless, he’d proudly accept one in service of his Clanmates if need be. A distant look crossed his face as he thought.
