Flickerkit jumped, “not today Mudfox!” They laughed and flung themself at mudkit
Mistlekit embraced the warriors' comforting gesture with much appreciation and she looked up at him.
``Well- it's just that I don't know if I'll ever become an apprentice, Ducknose.``
She shifted her gaze to her back legs and back to Ducknose.
``But- I'm sure I can do it! I'm super strong and- and I'll learn to be a great warrior! How could Pikestar say no? I have nothing to worry about, right Ducknose?``
Mistlekit looked at Ducknose with wide, hopeful eyes.

At the kit's words, understanding pooled in the warrior's eyes, softening those yellow orbs even more. They pressed their nose to the tip of Mistlekit's ear. "You'll become an apprentice, Mistlekit. All you have to do is stay out of trouble and Pikestar will grant you your apprentice name upon turning six moons."
They shifted back, looking down with a slight bit of sternness in his gaze as he continued. "So you can stay out of trouble, right? Promise me you will." His eyes softened once more as he continued. "As long as you do that, you'll have nothing to worry about."

The kit's eyes shone at the mere thought of it- gosh! Going on patrols with Ducknose! Exploring the camp and hunting for the clan! It'd be the best! Her pelt itched with longing- oh, how she wished she could be out there right at this very moment!
