The young warrior's right ear twitched upon hearing the shuffling of paws approaching, and he looked up to see Thrushfur walking over. Bumbleflight nodded in greeting, watching the other warrior sit down and begin his own meal, but not before asking some questions about Rainpaw's training. Ah, right. He'd forgotten that he was Rainpaw's father. No wonder he was so curious about how he was doing.

"Hm... It's been an interesting experience so far," Bumbleflight answered honestly, licking his whiskers as he began to near the end of his meal. "He seemed so eager, but then mentioned something about his littermates, and seemed more... Upset, afterwards. Might have any idea why?" He probably should've asked Rainpaw but, from the looks of it, his apprentice wasn't going to speak about it, so might as well turn to Thrushfur, right?

He began to chew into the side of the shrew more, digger into its juicy interior. He licked his lips to gaze at Bumbleflights demeanor. His blue held some intensity once Rainpaw mentioned something about his littermates. His temples tensed up knowing what happened. Has it already been a few moons already?"Well.. me and Quailfur actually had 4 kits. Lavenderkit being adopted."

His heart ached to know that Rainpaw still was feeling dreadful by his sister’s disappearance. That would surely disrupt his training. His eyes slanted sadly as he answered with a frown."Before Rainpaw became an apprentice, And before he got his name changed to Rain, he once snuck out of the nursery to accompany me at a clan meeting. I scolded him for not speaking to his mother first and sent him back." He narrowed his eyes, staring towards the ground as he continued.

"And his sister, Quietkit was frail and the runt of the litter. Quailfur believed that she wouldn’t even make it past 3 moons because of how thin and weak they were. And we all believe that Queitkit was inspired by her brother to sneak out as well.. and well.. she was never seen again. Our hearts are still aching to know if our kit passed on or if she’s living her life outside free from our clan bounds." He grimaced, he felt that the air was a bit heavy. He awkwardly gave a small chuckle. Looking away with embarrassment."Agh.. that seemed to be a sad sob story. But it’s true.. I still have my hopes up to see if Quietkit is still living freely."

Bumbleflight's brow furrowed and he frowned as Thrushfur explained, tucking his paws underneath his belly as he listened. Ah, no wonder Rainpaw had such a sudden change in attitude after mentioning that... No wonder he didn't want to talk about it. Thrushfur seemed just as affected as his son and, while Bumbleflight wasn't the best at comforting, he offered the tom a sympathetic look and hum.

"Ah, that's why..." he murmured, staring at the bones left of his meal. "How... How long ago did Quietkit go missing?"

As soon as her paws had hit the earth floor inside the camp, she could feel the memories and feelings flood back, as if a rock holding back a river had been dislocated. Stars, it had been so long, too long since she had felt that feeling. It was a certain sense of belonging. But she also knew that she didn't quite fit in, considering she had been gone for so many moons. She would have much to catch up on. First, and the biggest change was her sister no longer being Sparrowflight, but rather Sparrowstar. But her older sister was also the only family she had left, since Brightpaw and Mistyshade were both gone. A lump formed in Tulippaw's throat at the thought that she had missed the time when her mother and littermate were back in the clan, and now, when she had managed to return to Thunderclan, she of course wouldn't be allowed to have all of her family back.

[For reference, Tulippaw went missing in like early spring, so no kits (or cats younger than like 8 or 9 moons) would be able to recognize her]

He let out a sigh as he murmured softly."About 3 moons ago.. it could’ve been more." He stared at the half-eaten shrew, he now didn’t have the appetite to eat anymore. But he forced himself to eat it, hesitating to take a chomp. He nipped off a piece. Gulping it down slowly, and now his stomach seemed to hurt. Perhaps that was just his stomaches way of warning him not to eat more.

"Mom, can I go outside?" asked Sapphirekit frantically. She had been waiting to go outside forever. She was 2 days away from 6 moons and would become an apprentice soon. "Alright, fine," sighed Rubypelt. Sapphirekit hopped through the nursery's thick bramble opening to enter the clearing.

Two days later, Sapphirekit is bugging her mother again. " But Mo-o-o-o-o-om, I want to go outside noooow!" She heard her mother sigh. "You need to be ready for your apprentice ceremony. I can't have my only remaining daughter looking like that during her ceremony!" Sapphirekit shivered as she remembered her littermates. Emeraldkit had been born dead, and Crystalkit died of Greencough at 2 moons old. Goldkit was taken by an eagle two moons later. Silverkit would have made it to her apprentice ceremony if a rogue hadn't broken into camp and killed her along with Sapphirekit's father, Rockfur. "Now, I need to check with Sparrowstar if you can become an apprentice today," meowed Rubypelt as she left the nursery.

Rubypelt squeezed out of the nursery and headed towards Sparrowflight's den. She stopped for a heartbeat to meow a greeting to Copperfire, the deputy. She entered the leader's den.
