Sundust nodded with satisfaction as he watched Rosepaw apply the cobwebs. It was a simple job, but he felt bad that she didn’t get to do more. “Alright, you should be good to go. The injuries weren’t terrible, but please come see me or Rosepaw if you feel like something’s wrong.” He glanced at the wound on Softshadow’s torso, which seemed to be the worst of them. “Try and do some lighter work for a bit, maybe a few days. After that you should be able to return to your duties as normal.”



Sundust nodded as the molly explained her symptoms.. a list which was becoming familiar in recent days. “I see. Is there, perhaps, any chance you may be pregnant?” He was a bit curious to see how she would react, as everyone responded differently to that question; some were overjoyed, while other chewed him out for even suggesting it as a possibility.



Sundust nodded at Rainflower’s response. “It seems we will have an abundance of kits in the coming moons; I’ve had a lot of mollies come in recently with the same suspicions.” He did have to conceal some concern; Leafbare would be upon them soon, would they be able to find enough resources to support many kits? And if any queens had complications… he would have to stock up on herbs and soon. In the mean time, he needed to focus on his patient. “Have you experienced any nausea, or perhaps discomfort recently? Or really any other symptoms related to pregnancy.” He trusted Rainflower’s suspicion, but he had to go through the standard list of questions.

Ah, another torn claw. Was a cat really a warrior if they hadn’t torn a claw or dislocated a shoulder? “Rosepaw, have you ever treated a torn claw before?” He was trying to let his apprentice get more hands on experience, as she hadn’t gotten much opportunity to do so since Dawnstar had taken over ThunderClan.



His ear twitched as Bumblebreak shot back exactly what Sundust had given. That was fair, he was being rather rude. He sighed; it seemed an apology was in order. “I’m sorry, that comment was unnecessary. Ah, my comment, that is. Yours was warranted.” A slight trace of ironic humor sparked in his eyes at his last sentence.

Sundust began to treat the injury, silent for a second. “I know we don’t really ‘know’ each other, but I know the past few moons have been rough on you. You need to take care of yourself, or at least let someone else take care of you. Your a good warrior and a good cat, and StarClan forbid we lose another youth. Especially to a smelly rat; I’m sure none of your friends would want that.” StarClan, he would be livid if someone died of a rat bite at his paws.



Sundust had just finished sweeping away some dried herb bits when he caught sight of his next patient. “Ah, hello Hopefeather. Is there something you’d like to discuss?” The question was somewhat rhetorical - cats seldom came to the medicine den if they had no reason to. Something was very likely bothering her, so really he supposed he just needed to know what she needed to discuss.



It was always scary when kits came into the medicine den, at least when they were bleeding. They were tough little furballs for the most part, but they were still fragile. Upon examination, none of the injuries seemed terribly severe. The ones on Vixenkit’s face may need some marigold, but some wet moss and cobwebs would do for the ones on top of her head.

“Hey kiddo, looks like you got yourself in a tangle,” Sundust began talking as he collected the herbs he would need. From Batblood’s expression it seemed they had a runaway on their paws. Well, hopefully this escapade would keep her from sneaking out of camp again for a bit.

“That ‘red stuff’ is blood - sometimes it shows up when you get hurt. He returned with the marigold and a bundle of cobwebs, which he set aside as he began dabbing the wounds clean with wet moss. He had suppress a snicker at Batblood’s newly acquired nickname.

Sundust appeared as soon as he heard Thrushfur retch, a chorus of please don’t vomit please don’t vomit running through his head. He did not want to be spending his afternoon trying to clean up vomit. The scent of infection quickly distracted the medicine cat from those worries, and he hurried to go grab some marigold. “Hello, Thrushfur. I assume we’re dealing with some nausea as well?” Nausea could be related to the infection, but it was important to look into, just in case it was something else.



Oh, it had been a bit since Sundust had seen a thorn in someone’s paw. Hello, Smallvine, he greeted with a flick of his tail. Rosepaw, would you like to handle this one? It’s just a thorn. They we’re easy to treat, and typically didn’t require any herbs, so it should be a quick injury to take care of, but he was still trying to get Rosepaw experience wherever he could.

Smallvine smiled, she loved thunderclan, and she loved her medicine cats she sat down, “thank you” she said

Cloudspots sat down, holding his injured paw in the air. Perhaps he was being a bit of a baby, but oh well. This was the medicine den; if he couldn’t be in pain here, then where could he be?

Mapleleaf listend to Sundust intently as he spoke his piece, though he didn't directly answer the question she had asked him. Any chance she was pregnant? Well, that came as a shock to the young she-cat. Certainly something I didn't expect... Nevertheless, the calico tabby situated her paws next to each other once again and tilted her head in thought. It perhaps was a possibility... Thunderblaze and her had talked about having kits before.

"Perhaps. Thunderblaze and I were in Sunkissed Creek when we spoke about having kits one day, I suppose that day is in the near future," Mapleleaf looked at her large belly once again and chuckled. "Do you think I am expecting?"

If this was the case, she would have to speak to a queen about adopting them... Mapleleaf was young and still had a lot of energy to give into ThunderClan, she couldn't spend six moons in the nursery. It would drive her crazy, and she knew that if she was in the nursery, she would be exposing her kits to anger outbursts which were in no way good for any kit to witness or be a victim to.

Lightshine was thinking in the warrior's den when she thought about something. There had multiple deaths lately; Cinderstar died only recently after Lightshine became a warrior, and Wildspark was discovered to be dead last night. Maybe some new warriors would cheer everyone up. But she didn't agree with her thought. Sure, Coolpaw is practically a warrior and all, but she wasn't sure how it would go if Wysteriapaw found out. I'm pretty sure Wysteriapaw has been an apprentice for longer than Coolpaw, but it isn't my fault that she skips training. She decided to consult Sparrowstar about this. She bounded over to his den.

"Sparrowstar!" called Lightshine from the lichen entrance. She wasn't sure what Sparrowstar would say. What if she thinks Coolpaw isn't ready? What if she thinks that I shouldn't be a mentor anymore?! She shivered. She knew Sparrowstar wouldn't do that. I sure hope so, anyway.

Dawn was well on its way as Lightbreeze quietly slipped out of the warriors’ den, careful not to wake any Clanmates who were still fast asleep in their nests. The world was turning blue, as it always did before sunrise, building up his anticipation for the grand show. Getting up at sunrise was only a recent habit of his, something decided on a whim out of prolonged stress or boredom, but he was already in love with it. It was one of the few things keeping him sane right now, reminding him that despite all the tough trials and tribulations ThunderClan had been put through, life never ceases to continue. The morrow will always greet him no matter what he’s going through. And that was beyond beautiful to him.

After a good ol’ stretch and a wide yawn, the tall warrior made his way toward a grand split in the camp’s treeline that always had the best view for daybreak. He hummed lightly with a slight bounce in his gait, taking his time and enjoying the scenery. Though on his way, he noticed a familiar tan pelt emerge from the leader’s den. He stopped to look at her, caught slightly off guard. It wasn’t entirely unusual to see others awake at this hour; however, this was the third morning in a row he’d seen her without fail. Sparrowflight– er, Sparrowstar, seemed to have the habit of waking up super early and sprinting off into the woods. He considered wishing her a good morning every time she'd pass by, but he always figured the leader probably wouldn't hear him or be too busy for chit-chatting, so ultimately, he would stay quiet and give her a respectful nod whenever she passed by. He couldn't help but wonder where was she off to in such a hurry, especially at this hour...perhaps, maybe this time, Lightbreeze could find out?

Finally gathering the courage, Lightbreeze swiftly called out to her. “G’morning!” He dipped his head, “Up early again, I see?” He hoped she would hear him before she disappeared into the territory again, like she always did.

His apology, coupled with the humor in his eyes, left a bitter taste in her mouth. She swallowed and glanced away as one ear turned to the side. She wasn't used to apologies; no one seemed to know what those were nowadays, or if they did, they apologized too much, too often, for things that were insignificant. There seemed to be no in-between.

She responded merely with a tired shrug, unsure of what to say - then winced as whatever Sundust held was pressed into the wound. "Ow."

The silence was awkward and she was almost glad he chose to break it - until she actually heard what he was saying. Both ears flipped back and she glanced away. "I don't need someone to take care of me. I can handle myself just fine."

"Friends" was a lose term. Cinderpaw was dead, never coming back; she'd thought Softpaw counted, but the she-cat had been gone so long, Bumblebreak wasn't sure if that still stood; Asterdance was a vague "maybe", if at all; and unless "friends" also meant "arrogant fish-faces who Bumblebreak really wanted to stomp into the dirt and then dunk in the river twenty times for good measure", then she doubted Violetfreckle made the cut.

She gave herself a mental shake, searching for a distraction from the train of thoughts, and turned to sniff at what he was doing. "What are you using? What's that for?"

@Naiad @Estelle [Bat doesn't really have much to do, so unless you're somehow interacting with him, you don't have to mention me or wait for me to post ]

He managed to spot Sundust, and glanced down at Vixenkit as they started talking. The red stuff. Great, did he have to explain the concept of blood and bleeding to the kit now? He looked towards the medicine cat again, and luckily the ginger cat came to do that for him, and the Keeper back a step or two to give room for the healing stuff.

Though the medicine cat earned himself a glare after the nickname reaction. Batblood had never understood and would never understand the deal with them. First Mudskip had called him that, as if 'Batpaw' had been to hard to say, and now the kit was coming up with the same one. He had never liked nicknames at all, so why did not one, but now two cats make up them for him?
