Hul - He/him - Guardian

I scale quickly scale a tree, the only one in a while, and gaze across the scene set before me. Tonight it is a field that stretches out for as far as I can see. Which is not very far, due to the moonless night. It has been a long time since I have seen the moon, I have almost forgotten what it looks like. Such is the life of a Guardian.

Last nights horrors still haunt me now. Everyone. Everyone is dead. I barely managed to escape myself. Such a thing has not happened for a long time, not since I became a Guardian.

My pendant thuds against my chest as I take deep breaths to calm myself. I must focus on tonight else more fill die. And I know there will be more.

I light a torch and wave it in the air. A beacon to all those who see it.

I opened my eyes. I was standing in a black void. Am I asleep? Where a I? I turned in a circle, trying to see what happened. I was asleep, I had to be. But, where was me? And what is that whispering? Where is it coming from? "Hello?" I called into the darkness, one hand on the handle of my katana, which was strapped to my back with my two knives. My kambrits were strapped to my skirt belt. "Is anyone there?" A light caught my attention and I walked toward it.

I see a figure making their way to me, then hear a call moments later. "Ho there friends!" I call out. I raise my burning torch higher and wave it about.

I stopped. Someone wearing a black cloak waving a torch in the air. I walk forward again. I stopped after about 20 steps forward and looked up. My hand was on my katana, ready for any kind of combat, even though this was a dream. "Who are you?" I call up to the human.

I stare up at the so-called Guardian. I pull my katana from behind my back, ready to fight. "Hul," I echo, closing my eyes. "Where am I? No, where are we? Are we asleep? What's happening?" I ask many questions at once.
