The dark brown tabby nodded in agreement. He approached the young tree and began his ascent towards the bird above him, moving slowly so as not to startle the sparrow, but also because his moving would give away that he wasn't actually a part of the tree. Bumbleflight had a strange relationship with trees since the hunting incident, but it seemed this tree was kind, and before long, he managed to get to a branch almost parallel to where the birds were.

Moving into a crouch on the branch, Bumbleflight looked down and gave Nightshade a nod, awaiting the signal. Hopefully, thks would all go according to plan.

Nightshade crouched down in typical hunter's crouch. She wiggled her haunches before pouncing on the nearest sparrow, dispatching it with a quick bite to it's throat.

The commotion sent the other sparrow up into the tree with a loud squawk. Nightshade watched it. It was up to Bumbleflight to catch this one.

The young warrior watched intently as his companion initiated their hunt, killing one sparrow rather quickly. The other, as Nightshade predicted, began to fly into the trees, a loud squawk somewhat hurting Bumbleflight's ears. Still, the dark brown tabby tom pounced, and successfully managed to kill the sparrow in the air before landing back on the branch, albeit a bit unbalanced, but landed.

Beaming with pride, Bumbleflight crawled down the tree quickly, prey in his jaws, and joined Nightshade on the forest floor, amber eyes gleaming. This had gone much better than his previous hunt! And he didn't embarrass himself! Yes!

Feathernose clawed her way up a tree. She was panting and hot by the time she reached the top, but she was proud of her effort. She glanced down. It was a tall tree. She began her decent.

Sundust didn’t often go herb hunting at night, but he had already been out of the territory on the return trip home, and the the moon was bright and full, so he saw no harm in taking a detour from the group. The shell that Fawnpaw has gifted him was still tucked under his chin; the medicine cat hadn’t quite figured out where he wanted to put it yet, but it would be nice to have something to brighten up the medicine den. maybe he’d use it to cover that awfully ominous bloodstain. It had only come from some poor warrior’s torn claw, but he had failed to clean it before it dried onto the stone.

The ginger tom took his time perusing through the greenery, wanting to make sure he didn’t miss any herbs in the dim lighting. It was a quiet night now that he had departed from the chattering crowd, with only the leaves rustling and the grasshoppers chirping in the bushes. Because of this quietness, the medicine cat was caught off guard when the sound of voices reached him. Sundust paused for a moment, ears alert as he tried to pick up on the conversation. A second cat spoke and he began moving towards the voices.

He pushed through some bushes and emerged into a clearing, where he found Crocuspaw and Vineglow. It was a bit odd to see cats out on the territory so soon after the gathering, but nothing that warranted suspicion. He let his shell fall to his paws from where it was tucked under his chin, his tail raising as he greeted the two. “Good evening Vineglow, Crocuspaw. What has you two out so late?” At least there was a warrior present; Crocuspaw was new to the clan, but Sundust was fairly certain Sparrowstar would have made basic rules and restriction clear.

She hadn't refused his invitation, but the new apprentice had a feeling that the rejection would soon come, whenever the higher powers prompted the she-cat to finally... Do something. Yellow-green eyes trace the features of the warrior in the moonlight, almost like he was sizing her up for a meal. But that was too disturbing a thought, and Crocuspaw was just a strange young cat.

The brown and white tom prepares himself to simply walk off and continue his journey alone when another voice falls over them. He curses softly as Sundust steps out into view, greeting the pair. "Sun," he counters politely, though without any further apparent reaction. The tom genuinely couldn't recall the healer's full name, but that could hardly be blamed on negligence or secrecy. He was a damn rogue, a fish out of water among the Clan cats.

Realizing he was supposed to be meek and afraid, as well as mysteriously wounded, Crocuspaw considers switching up the act and testing how much the healer overheard. Could he pull it off?

But reason wins out- Vineglow would pick up on the act immediately now, and this healer would have more reason to believe the upset molly. He would have to let go of his former demeanor. "I went on a walk, Vineglow followed me. I've just invited her to come with me, as I do need to go somewhere tonight. Why don't you come as well?" Hopefully the invitation would prolong his stability in the Clan. And indeed, neither cat had reason to find it all that suspicious apart from the timing of it.

Nightshade let out a purr of pride at their successful hunt. "Well done! You made that seem completely effortless." Her tail stump wiggled in a strange imitation of a wag. "Come on, let's get this back to camp. I'm sure one of the elders or queens will appreciate it."
They grabbed their sparrow, wasting no time in turning and trotting off into the undergrowth. She expected that Bumbleflight would follow her.

Vineglows' ear picked up hearing Sundust's arrival “Hello, Sundust. I was going to go hunt but Crocuspaw was acting strangely so I'm keeping an eye on him” She spoke.
Hearing Crocuspaws ‘Invitation ’ Her head tilted “Where do you need to go?”
Unless it is important, then Vineglow didn't know why the apprentice was rushing.

Bumbleflight practically glowed with the compliment, but was quick to hide it. It was a good catch, but that was to be expected of a warrior: no need to get too excited and make a fool of himself, right? He shook his head in an attempt to shake the burning feeling of embarrassment that began to take hold and followed after Nightshade, the bird still held in his jaws. Perhaps he should take it to the nursery or the elders.

The black warrior took the lead through the territory, making sure to keep an eye and ear out for the sounds of any more prey. They were lucky that this hunt was so easy, Nightshade felt it wouldn't hurt to push that luck, especially if it meant feeding more of the Clan. She let out a quiet purr as the camp came into view.

The black and white tom stared for a few heartbeats longer at the mysterious object as he listened to Berryspot’s musings. Their own kits had more “things” than warriors and apprentices so it wouldn’t be surprising if twolegs were similar in that most of their objects were for their kits. He shrugged and turned away from it to sit down and let his head wander around, taking in the den around him. The way the sunlight filtered in through the inexplicable holes in the den, lighting the invading greenery filled him with a certain peace and awe, leaving him to wonder on all the mysteries surrounding such a place. He finally cut himself from his thoughts and turned to Berryspot, just remembering that she was even present. He smiled but suddenly wanted to be alone for a bit. ”Maybe we should head back? We wouldn’t want to be missed.” The looming thoughts invaded his serenity of all the tasks he needed to complete, especially if he were to want to try to get out to the border that night to see if she was still nearby… Physically shaking to rid himself of his thoughts in case Berryspot could see right through him, Blackfir trotted towards the entrance of the den and back out into the open forest.
