Bearkit tipped a little to the side as he walked toward the nursery entrance, still not at all used to his legs. After all, this was the first time he was using them. His progress was about as slow as a snail, but in his mind he was moving so fast. The light coming from outside got brighter and brighter, until suddenly it consumed his entire view. He felt a blast of chilly air that made him shiver.

He could barely make out several large, moving shapes in the midst of all this light. He kept blinking, but his young eyes weren’t able to process so much light yet. Bearkit suddenly began to feel afraid, as dozens of unfamiliar scents hit his nose.

Blossomflight decided this was the time to bring Bearkit back. She stood up, and picked the young tom up by his scruff. "Im not sure you're ready for that." The molly chuckled, setting him back in the nest. "You're free to look around the nursery though!" Blossomflight gave him a little nuzzle before laying down again. She didn't close her eyes though, she needed to watch Bearkit.

Bearkit mewled as he was suddenly swept into the air. His panic lessened as his mother’s familiar milk-scent washed over him. He felt the softness of their nest suddenly under his paws. Almost as soon as he was back down again, he began stumbling back out. This time, he went in the other direction, toward the back of the nursery.

Bearkit found that walking was a lot more tiring than he thought. He plopped his tiny self down on the side of the nursery opposite the one his nest was at. He was simply too tired to make the trek back to the other side. Maybe he’d feel better soon. Was walking always going to be this exhausting?

Blossomflight watched Bearkit plop down, and shuffled off to fetch him. She retrieved the tom, setting him back in the family nest. "Rest little one." She purred, giving him a lick on the head before laying down herself.
