He wondered where Lavenderpaw was, surely her mentor would find a way to train a blind cat. It has worked with other cats multiple times.

Once he plucked the burr out of Bumbleflights back, the tom buried himself into his paws. He shook his head, giving a mrrw of laughter. "Everyone has these days Bumbleflight, you should get into the habit of grooming your fur every morning. I love to keep myself especially clean."

"I know, I know, I just... Got busy, ya know?" Bumbleflight muttered, his voice muffled by his face in his paws. At this point, he'd rather have an apprentice cackle as his earlier show than have Thrushfur. Having another warrior be a witness to such a spectacle was embarrassing, to say the least, especially with an added scolding about his health which, mind you, he felt he was still doing a decent job at. Besides, he was being honest: he had been eating, though the first few days after Brightpath's death, Bumbleflight struggled to finish so much as a mouse. He was doing much better as time went on, though, so there was nothing to worry about, right?

"If I had to make time to groom myself and keep clean, it'd have to be when I don't have to train my apprentices or go on patrols," the dark brown tabby eventually answered, tail moving lazily behind him. "But, uh... I promise to keep it up as much as I can, I suppose."

Ashpaw was aware of Flamepaw's support and glanced sideaways at her, blinking gratefully with a little smile as Charcoalpaw was busy grabbing the fish. His tal tip landed softly unconsciously on her back as the other apprentice chewed a morsel of their catch, and Ashpaw wondered what the black-ginger tom would say about it. Hiding his concern, he truly hoped he wouldn't say anything negative out loud, as he wouldn't want anyone complaining about something that he and Flamepaw had hunted so well together. He waited for him to show some expression on his face, ready to pierce him with his gaze if he thought Charcoalpaw was ready to say something bad in front of her friend.
