Copperfire walked up to the base of the Thunderwillow, anger thrumming under his pelt. He took a moment to calm himself before calling out the same cats he'd appointed for patrol, it wouldn't do well to start mindlessly yelling, no matter how deserved he thinks it would be. "Berryspot, Stagbound, Thunderblaze, Russetflare, Flamepaw, Stormwind, Dawnpaw, and Acornpaw! I want all of you here, now! Why did none of you report back? Where is your sense of responsibility? Our clan has been under attack by rogues, and leaf-bare is coming!" The deputy roared. Then he spoke in a calmer, yet still serious voice. "You all will be punished, however, if anyone here has a good reason for not reporting or going on patrol, I'd be willing to hear them out. If not, don't waste my time more than you already have."

First up - the RiverClan border patrol. Breezewind and Spiderspark seemed to be missing, which left only Berryspot. Oh well, solo patrols were still better than nothing. "Berryspot, go check the border at the Smallpines. I'm not going to drag anyone else into your punishment, even if it means you have to go alone."

"Stagbound, Thunderblaze, the ShadowClan border won't mark itself. Get on that!" There was no way they could be lenient with the ShadowClan border, who knew what Dawnstar would do if she found out their borders were so weakly marked.

Now onto the hunting patrols... Maybe he'd made a mistake by sending so many apprentices on the hunting patrols, had the warriors been overwhelmed? Still, that was no excuse for not reporting. "Russetflare and Flamepaw, go back to the Muskrat Mire and both of you report back with your catches." Copperfire twisted his ears, hazel eyes staring down the warrior. It would probably do well to address him more directly as he was given more responsibility than other patrol leaders. "Russetflare, if this is how you deal with patrols when apprentices are assigned as well, then I don't know how you expect to train your own."

Finally, the last of the patrols. "Stormwind, Dawnpaw, and Acornpaw. Go back to the Firefly Cove, all of you have to report back with what you catch. Stormwind, I expect you to be more attentive to your duties, especially when our future warriors are under your leadership." Once more the deputy turns his frustrated glare to a patrol leader. He expected them to be more responsible, what example were they showing to the apprentices?

Copperfire looked to Sparrowstar, who had hopefully followed him. He hoped he'd done this correctly, however, if she wanted to override anything or add on a punishment, he wouldn't complain. She was the leader here after all.

Cardinalspice had made his way over to the front, standing still and silent. The tom only looked down at the apprentice as she spoke, eyes narrowed before narrowing his head and nodding once.

THESE PATROLS ARE DUE OCTOBER 15TH
If an extension is needed, please let me know via visitor message prior to October 14th!
If you do not wish to be placed on a patrol, let me know by October 5th and I will find a replacement.
If there are any mistakes such as an assigned patrol member being on hiatus or an incorrectly tagged character, please let me know so I can correct them.
Patrols that do not report in or report in late are subject to in-character punishment by Copperfire and/or Sparrowstar!

Patrol leaders, when reporting, please mention me with your character providing the patrol report to Copperfire!

It was time for patrols once again. Copperfire could only hope this batch of patrols would actually report back. Maybe it was because he left for his own patrol? He'd stay back this time.

"Gather for patrols!" He called. "Leafbare will be upon us before we even know it, I want everyone to do their best to complete these patrols. Make sure outsiders aren't on our territory and make sure to report anything amiss. If your patrol leader doesn't show up, do still try to do the patrol and report back without them." These cats would make him furless by the time Leafbare came by. Being a deputy was not good for his stress levels. He was this close to begging StarClan to take over, maybe they'd be better at finding cats who actually would do their patrol work and do it well.

Now he had to actually assign cats. He better get started then. "Feathernose, you'll be going to the Smallpines with Ashpaw, and Smallvine."

THUNDERGLADE [WINDCLAN BORDER]

"Lavendermask, go to the Thunderglade. Ashblaze, and Emberpaw will be joining you." This border didn't seem to be causing any trouble last time. Perhaps this time it would be just as calm.

HERONDIVE HOLLOW [SHADOWCLAN BORDER]

"Rainspark, I want you to go to the Herondive Hollow, and take Sycamorepaw, and Wolfspirit with you." The ShadowClan border always made him uneasy. Dawnstar's presence seemed to linger on the other clan's territory even if she herself hadn't been there recently. Copperfire gladly passed up the opportunity to patrol this border himself.

WISTERIA FALLS HUNTING PATROL

Now onto the hunting patrols. He didn't want to overhunt the territory, but at the same time, the cold temperatures were quickly approaching. It would only be a matter of time before most prey hid away. Tough decisions. It wasn't that cold yet, surely they could wait longer before catching as much prey as they could, right? "Blackfir, and Juniperpaw, go to the Wisteria Falls for a hunting patrol."

GIANT'S REST HUNTING PATROL

"Mudsplash, take Crocuspaw to Giant's Rest for a hunt." Crocuspaw had recently been an outsider. It would be interesting to see what their clan's new apprentice could do. Copperfire would make sure to keep this patrol's results in mind.

Flamepaw was relaxing in the clearing, but when she heard the rather furious voice of Copperfire call out so many Clanmates' names and hers, she jumped to her feet and hurried over to where she was standing. She was among the ones getting punished for not patrolling like she should have. Oh no... She was being sent to Muskrat Mire, but Flamepaw never heard the call for patrols! She had to explain that...

"I'm so sorry, Copperfire," she knew Sparrowstar was standing next to the orange tom, but beings that Copperfire was the deputy, Flamepaw decided to address him first. "I honestly didn't hear my name get called for patrols. I must've been sleeping in the apprentices' den when you called them out..."

Turning to face Sparrowstar, she dipped her head, "That'll never happen again, I promise! I'll make sure I'm up earlier next time patrols are called!"
