Fernwillow laughed and felt a bit of her anxiety leak away. “I was hoping for one of the kits to be awake.” She sighed. “I haven’t really gotten to play with them yet. I know that sounds stupid but it feels like any day now they’ll be apprentices and I just want to spend as much time with them as possible before they do.”

“I agree. I mean, leaf bare is upon us and I don’t know if they’ll all survive! I’m stressed out and just trying to keep calm. All Ivykit does is sleep and eat and walk around.” She tried to calm her nerves by closing her eyes and taking deep breaths.

The little grey furball was somewhat cross. She was napping, and these two chatterboxes were talking! (How dare they?) She wriggled in the nest, squeaking as her paw got stuck under her. She wiggled even more as she got her paw un-stuck, finally managing to do so.
