Bigger than the small pond in the medicine den. It seems endless too, with it's strong, swirling current. It seems almost too powerful for us to deal and handle. In honesty though, that makes us stronger. We are the only ones strong enough to handle the strength of the river."

"wow I cat wait to see the river" Ripplepaw looked up at her mentor with big curios eyes. Ripplepaw took a step closer to the edge of camp Has the river ever froze?. Ripplepaw took two steps to the edge of camp with her paws at the edge of camp. Ripplepaw lashed her tail waiting for her mentor to walk out of camp. Come on we're wasting daylight!. Ripplepaw smiled as she copied her mentors words. Ripplepaw looked back at camp then back at Webclaw then to their territory

Finally, she spotted a familiar form; Blackgaze's dark pelt, lounging at the edge of the open area. A small smile flickered across her maw, and she moved towards the feline, her paws skirting easily over the packed snow which had began to freeze into a thin layer of ice. Having crossed the clearing easily enough, she settled down next to the deputy, a small, respectful distance away. "Hello, Blackgaze,"she mewed, in a soft tone that still announced her presence. "How are you today?" The question was one overused, but was a meaningful one nonetheless. She was generally curious on how the darkly colored warrior was faring, considering her recent promotion. Cloversplash shifted her weight to a more comfortable position, her leg having begun to cramp underneath its own weight. Tail swishing, her attention turned back towards Blackgaze, as she waited patiently for the she-cat's response.

Blackgaze's ear twitched to show that Cloversplash had her attention, not bothering to blankly look at the cat she couldn't see. The dark pelted warrior gave a soft humming noise, her cat-like smile widening softly. "I'm fine." she said softly, taking a moment to differentiate Cloversplash's voice from the voices of other warriors she remembered in her head as voices were the only way she could tell who was who while she was in camp due to the overwhelming smell of RiverClan itself. It tended to be easy until she met so many other cats who's voices swarmed in her head. "Hello. How are you today, Cloversplash?" she asked softly after quickly figuring out who had sat next to her. She took the polite route at this moment, not sure if she should be her awkward self for the moment. That would be better for later in the conversation, if it lasted long.

Pebblestep paced in the shadows of the clearing. She had just discovered that she would be a mother, but she did not know who the father was. A look of worry was plastered across her face.

Snakesnap paced the warrior den entrance, he heard about Pebblestep, but is he the father? He let out a distressed sigh.

Pebblestep noticed Snakesnap and quickly stopped her circular pacing. She looked at the pawprints in the light, dusty snow. The she-cat lowered her head in thought and decided to approach him. She had to be straightforward. "Hey, um, Snakesnap?" She began, quietly. "So you haven't heard about..." Pebblestep trailed off, avoiding the topic.

"I did.." He meowed, a blush appearing, this wasn't unusual

Pebblestep was becoming worried. Was word spreading that quickly? Did other cats know? She sighed. "Do you hate me?" She asked in a low whisper, regretting many of her decisions.

Ears twitching, she watched Blackgaze with a focused eye, taking in the physical cues that the molly subconsciously projected to any who cared to pay enough attention. At the ear flick of acknowledgement, Cloversplash relaxed some, glad to know that the deputy could tell her from just her voice. She had always personally wondered how blind cats identified their clan mates, along with how they hunted and fought. She'd guessed much of it was by scent and hearing, but it would still be hard to gauge individuals in a large fight, or to try fishing in the river where you could neither smell nor hear the fish. It was probably largely skill, yes, but at least some of it had to be the innate sense of the cat. Whiskers twitching slightly, the warrioress turned back towards her conversation partner. She caught the softly murmured words over the babble of the clearing, Blackgaze's words just barely reaching her ears over the cacophony, despite her full attention being directed towards her. "I'm marvelous, thank you very much, love," she said, then started slightly as the last word slipped out. Is was one she usually reserved for cats she knew well. But she had basically never talked to the molly before, and to use a term she reserved for those she knew well was unusual, and she knew it meant she had a quick liking to Blackgaze. Her ear tips turned a soft pink, and she was grateful for only a moment that the cat could not see her blushing.

Blackgaze's tail twitched as she gave a very quiet and short laugh at being called 'love' by the other cat, finding it a bit amusing as she's never been called anything like that before. Though, she continued on with the conversation, her blind eyes opening as she still stared straight ahead of herself. "That's good to hear hah." She spoke, her smile getting a bit wider as she shook her pelt out and allowed the small bit of soft white drops of snow on her pelt to fall. "Pretty cold out here, huh?" she asked with a small sigh, her short pelt not helping out with the cold that burned through the air. It tended to be worse out in the territory, the cold breeze whipping over the frozen river only to make it colder. Which, was why you could see the deputy in the clearing more then the territory when it was cold out like it was now.

She shifted nervously from paw to paw, hoping that Blackgaze would gloss over her strange use of the word in such a familial sense. Ears burning with the embarrassment, she bit at her bottom lip, feeling ridiculous in her own skin. Eyes flickering away from the deputy for a moment, she glanced up the sky, where fat white snowflakes hung and drifted gently through the air, before settling to the ground or onto fur and noses. A smile crossed her face at the beauty of the frozen landscape, until she felt a whisper if freezing wind trickle through her own thick fur and chill her skin. She shivered slightly, still glad for her long, insulating pelt, that kept out all but the worst of winter gales. "Very cold indeed. You wouldn't believe what I did the other day out in the territory. I was walking on the ice, it broke under my paw! Just one, and I was able to get it out, but my fur and toes were froze silly! It was fine after I cleaned the ice out, but I couldn't move my paw until then! I guess I should just be more careful on the river- it's hard to tell where the ice is frozen through," the she-cat recounted, her tone light as she made fun of herself, the event having been easily dealt with, despite the fact that it could've gone south quickly.
