Ciara stood on a building, watching the sunset. Her hair blew in the wind, her katana's blade reflecting sunlight off the metal. She sighed, closing her eyes, and thinking about Zero. Where are you...? It had been 14 years since she had been separated from her demon friend, and she missed her dearly. Ciara felt a tear run down her face, lifting her head up, and opening her electric blue eyes. I'll find you, Zero. I promise. Ciara didn't know that she was across the world from Zero. It would be almost impossible for her to find her unless she and Zero walked in opposite directions, which Ciara couldn't see. She sat down, wondering where her friend was and if she remembered her.

Zero stood in the forest, banging her head against a huge tree. The trunk was thick, and branched spread far across the sky. On the wood, was a map. It was carved by Zero. It looked like a map of the world, and there were multiple carvings of an X across it. She was looking for something. Well, someone. And she couldn't seem to find that someone anywhere! She lifted her head again, staring at the map. She ran her pale finger across it. "Where are you...?" The demon muttered, wiping a tear off her cheek before it could hit the grass. Zero pulled the hood of her grey hoodie~ which was now far too small~ over her head. She groaned, and climbed up the tree. In one of the higher branches was a hammock made of interwoven vines. She slid into it, staring at the leaves above her. Where the hell are you Ciara...?

(also, how old would they be now?)

Ciara got down from the building, racking her brain on where Zero could be. She most likely doesn't remember me anymore. She thought, wiping her cheeks as she felt tears leave her eyes and try and roll down her face. She went to her little apartment and went to her room. She shut the door behind her and flopped down on her bed, starting to cry. She was 33 years old! She shouldn't be crying like a baby! But I want Zero back... I want her back... Ciara stared at the wall, letting her tears come out as she recalled her first moments with Zero, how they met, how she saved the demon from drowning, how Zero saved her later in life, and Ciara getting taken away by police. Then her mind played out how she remembered Zero after being told to kill the demon in the woods, and the lie they came up with to protect Zero. She's got to be tearing up the world looking for me, right? Right? Ciara turned her head to face the ceiling, looking at where her earring was being kept. She had given one to Zero before she left her for good. Does she still have the other earring? How can I talk with her if she doesn't have a phone? Ciara closed her eyes, falling into nightmares.

She set the earring beside her, and gazed into the semi-broken mirror. Her father had given it to her as a 'sorry i ruined your twentieth birthday party' gift. She looked at it, momentarily spiting him for such a dumb gift. The demon recalled that he had said it could do something special, but honestly, who could remember something for 10 years? Definitely not her. Zero groaned, rolling off the branch and landing back in her hammock.

Zero sat on the ground, back against the tree. She examined the mirror closely. Yeah, her dad was cheap, but sometimes he had some cool stuff. The demon turned it over, and saw an inscription, written in ancient demon-tongue. Zero read it over and over again in her head. She was one of the few demons who could read~ and write~ the ancient language fluently. Zero flipped the mirror again. She tapped the glass once, and whispered. "Ciara...?" The mirror flashed with a blinding light, and then there was the reflection of Ciara on the glass. "Oh my god. Oh my god oh my god oh my god!" Zero said excitedly, peering into it. "It worked!"

He nodded and she took the cup and walked to the kitchen to put the order in. But as she turned around to walk around again, she heard Zero's voice. "Oh my god. Oh my god oh my god oh my god! It worked!" Ciara's head shot up, looking around. She looked scared. "Z-Zero?" She whispered.

Zero's hands shook with excitement. "U-uh, mirror from my dad." She explained. The demon climbed the tree again, settling in her hammock.
