Keeping close to his clanmates the tom sniffed the air. He could scent a few pieces of prey nearby. He looked at Thrushfur. "Yeah this is perfect. I smell 1 to 3 pieces of prey around here. Maybe we can try to at least get one each.", he meowed. 3 would be great, but it all really depended. Birdblaze looked around, using his nose before scenting a faint smell. He followed it until it grew stronger. Down was a hole. It smelled strongly of mice. Maybe it was a nest? Birdblaze turned to the other two. "I think I found a nest. Someone can dig a little and maybe it will draw something out.", he meowed. Hopefully there was more than one.
Coming back only to get Barleypaw into warriorhood, but then I most likely will be leaving entirely. I've spend too much time on her to not have her be a warrior and I'd like to get her there.

Rabbitchatter | he/him
A long furred brown tabby tom with amber eyes

The tom would accept that answer, begrudgingly of course. Despite the teeth pulling it took to get the information, it was something and for that he was thankful. It didn’t take him much time to formulate his own responses to Alderheart taking a final two steps closer and plopping into the snow right on his tail. He was insulated quite fine, in fact he was getting a little overheated. “Well.” he seemed to think for a moment, desperately pulling together words to explain his word choice. “I think it’s a term of endearment. Don’t matter who y’a are, it’s kiddo, champ, bud… anythin I can whip up on a dime.” he swept his tail out front underneath himself to lay flat in the snow behind him. “Whenev’ar I needed a stern talkin too I wished some’on would’ve taken me aside and told me ‘Yer doing great kiddo… don’t give up.’ So I spose in a way I’m tryna make up for what I missed.”
Which was partially true, Rabbitchatter had yearned for any kind of parental figure. In a selfish way, perhaps he’d imposed those same values onto everyone else without realizing others might not like it. He fumbled his paws over each other thinking about it. “Don’t mean ta offend y’a, i mean no harm by it.” he paused again his gaze flipping from tree to tree as he scrambled for words “I’m hoping the thought gets through… that I care.”
He then dropped the conversation, since that wasn’t really what he was after. This, the very tip of the iceberg was what he craved. He wanted to help in the worst way, and perhaps that was his flaw. He wanted to help so bad he hurt others in the process of trying to achieve that information… he stopped shuffling his paws and sat with the thought. No matter. They were here now, the smallest crumbs of information had slipped carefully into his lap. “You think yer the only one who could do good work the right way?” the question was posed innocently in an effort to get him to elaborate, but he followed up with a backup. “Are you throwin yerself into work so hard to avoid thinkin or being on your lonesome?”

Alderstep blinked at Rabbitchatter's explanation. He hadn't really realized how lonely the former loner could have been before clan life. It felt odd to have a moment of sudden understanding of the other warrior. And then shame pricked at Alderstep's pelt uncomfortably. It also felt wrong to know how Rabbitchatter compensated, to pull together an idea of the cat's life without asking. But sometimes Alderstep noticed things, especially what made cats tick. And his endless question of why the fellow tom was so kind had pestered him so much that of course, the russet tabby analyzed him. Always trying to figure out why Rabbitchatter was bothering him. Well, not always, it was the majority of the morning.
The tom blinked slowly at the amber-eyed tom, noticing how he tried to think, maybe like him? Well, Alderstep didn't know for sure. Maybe Rabbitchatter was being ever vigilant for any more moss. A tiny bit of amusement passed into the warrior's eyes, finding his thought funny. No, probably not. He dipped his head subtly, trying to say without speaking that he would let go of the nickname "argument." It had been more of a diversion, anyways.
Alderstep brought his paw to his mouth, gnawing on his claws absentmindedly as he tried to consider his options. One; run away, which would just be embarrassing and mouse-hearted. Two; spill his guts, which would make him very vulnerable. Or, three; beat up Rabbitchatter, which honestly wasn't an option and more of a fleeting thought born of momentary panic. Alderstep supposed his only true option was a modified Two. Besides, he hated when other cats didn't get what he was saying. Even if he was too often vague.
Time to put on his front, then. "No, I-" Alderstep lashed his tail in frustration. "It's hard to explain," he said, then proceeded to do so. "You're supposed to work and not care and move on and other fox-dung. Y'know, normal clan cat life." The warrior supposed detaching himself from his confession would help make it easier. He wasn't too sure, though.
Duckfluff returned Berryclaw’s nod. He resolved to be serious and to do this quickly. Leafbare wasn’t a time for slacking hunters. “Let’s meet back here.” With another nod to mark how serious he was, he was off. Stalking through the snow, and following the scent of the raven. He found the bird pecking away under a bush. Should I feel bad for killing a bird, because of my name? It was a thought he had often and that just as often went unanswered. He advanced on his prey slowly. Making his paws come down softly on the crunchy snow. Soon, he was in range and with a pounce he was on top of the bird. Quickly, before it could squawk and ruin Berryclaw’s hunt, he sunk his teeth into its neck.
With the small raven swinging in his jaws he picked his was back to their spot. He made less of an effort to stay quiet, without making too much noise. Again, he wouldn’t want to spoil his brother’s hunt. He dug a hole and buried his prize as he waited. If we both get out catches it’ll be a good day! The thought of filling the prey pile after a long day’s hunt with just one piece of prey wasn’t a happy one. He resolved to see it as a success nonetheless. He had tried his best, and this wasn’t a scheduled hunting patrol. Although now that he though of it he couldn’t remember the last time he’d been sent on a hunting patrol. Or the last time he’d seen the deputy.
Berryclaw nodded. He started off after the scent he'd caught of the squirrel, soon spotting it among the roots of the tree. It was quite plump for this time in the season so he was happy to find it. Stalking quietly and carefully up to it, he leapt onto it easily and killed it with a swift bite to the neck.
He then padded back to the meeting spot he and Duckfluff had agreed on.

As he saw Berryclaw approach he waved his tail in greeting. His eyes widened even more when he saw the plump-for-leafbare squirrel he was carrying. I think that’s the best I’ve seen all season Pride in his brother sparked in his stomach, accompanied by something strange that he couldn’t quite name. Something a little bit meaner. He ignored it. “Nice catch! That squirrel is huge!” He purred. Maybe their catch wouldn’t look that bad after all. Should we try to catch something else? As much as Duckfluff enjoyed hunting and hanging with his brother, he had been out all day and was starting to get tired. He might seem to have boundless energy, but he was still a warrior. “Oh by the way did you catch anything else?” He blinked hopefully. It seemed like Berryclaw’s side of the forest was better than the one he’d picked today. Maybe he had had better luck!
Firepetal nodded as she buried her catch. She then approached hole and caught a big whiff of mice, in fact she could hear little scrambles in the dirt. Her eyes gleamed and she started digging, flinging bits of grass out into the air like rain, mud splattering onto her fiery pelt. She snorted, shaking the mud out of her head, before digging. Eventually, she saw a mouse tail disappearing. She growled and fished it out of the ground and sliced it’s neck. She purred was satisfaction. “There’s more down there!” she mewed.
He looked between the two with interest. He gave a subtle nod as Birdblaze gave a suggestion. They both have already caught scent of prey, they must have noises as strong has a fox's. He gave a small grin, looking towards Firepetal as she was struggling a bit but managed to catch it by a claw swipe. He decided to head in at Firepetals discretion, moving away any clumps of snow as dirt finally reached his paws. He stuck his head in, hearing the squeaks and sniffles of fear-scented mice. They've already smelled their comrades blood, and he hopes that they know their might not be no way of escaping. He reached his paw it as he felt the tips of mouse fur touch his pads.
He quickly unsheathed his claws and slammed his paw among the mouse's head. Dragging it out before he was quick to swipe it clean, making sure it was limp with a sniff. He looked at Birdblaze, muttering. "There's a whole colony of mice down here, but we're only able to reach a few of them. Seems like the rest have already scurried further into their tunnels." He clumped up his caught mice, moving away from the hole as he idly stood by.

Sootfur lead the two apprentices with a steady pace, hoping that the travel to Wisteria Falls would warm all of them up a little bit. His pelt was ruffled by the chilly wind, and he looked forward to get some movement and stretch his sore muscles.
He knew they were arrived when he spotted the familiar, little twoleg bridge in front of the waterfalls surrounded by wisteria trees. It had been so beautiful in new-leaf, but now the branches were bare and the droplets of water felt icy on his pelt. At least the scent won't distract our nose.
"Well, here we are!" He announced happily at Oriolepaw and Quietpaw. "So, today we are having a lesson about hunting in pairs. Quietpaw, this could become one of the things you could be best at. Do you know why?" He approached directly his apprentice with a bright look, forgetting all about the cold ground and the icy wind.

Two huge, ancient trees arched and connected together until their original shapes had been long lost. "This is Giant's Rest. You won't see much now that it's covered in snow, but there are many levels and holes among the roots and on their trunks. It's pretty peaceful here, and a good place to hunt if you can get the prey distant enough from their hideouts. But not with this weather." He added with a look at the gray sky above.
There wasn't much else to explain about this place; Sootfur had only been here during a hunting patrol, and it had seemed very different at that time. It was green-leaf, I think?
The gray warrior turned to his apprentice and gave her a questioning look, waiting for any reaction.
Mistylight
@Cherry~ [Ill ask on discord for another warrior to come and help out! ]
The worry in her chest grew stronger and stronger with every second of silence that passed, but at last, the apprentice stirred and Mistylight breathed a sigh of relief at them being actually alive. Oh thank the stars... But they were hurt, badly hurt if they couldn't even stand up without falling over again with pain. "I will, Oriole" She switched to using just the cat's prefix again like she tended to when in less formal situations. "just hold on a moment and I'll try to carry you." She was strong enough to carry an apprentice, it was causing him more pain that she was most worried over. But if she could just get him to Sundust then she was sure it would be ok...
Taking a deep breath to stay herself, Mistylight leaned down, carefully getting one paw under the apprentice... then her shoulder..., before sliding back out from under him. No, if she tried to carry him like this his back and paws to move and bend if just trying to stand was too painful, that would be beyond torturous. She'd need more cats for this. Swiftly she took a few strides away from Oriole so as not to shout right in his ear, but stopped before opening her mouth.
She had a few options here; she could either call for help, hoping some other warrior had taken a walk in the evening and would hear her, but also risk a predator would be summoned by her call (she could fight off a small fox but maybe not protect Oriolepaw if there were more than one). Or she could go to camp and fetch help, making sure to get someone else here but also leaving a defenseless cat here. But then again Oriole would be safer if she could get someone here and only have him be alone for a little while than if she called for help and just prayed someone would come.
She went back to Oriole and gave him a quick but gentle lick over the head. "Stay here, will you? I will run back to camp and fetch help and then we can carry you back without causing you more pain." Her heart, yes her whole body seemed to resist leaving, but knowing it was better, Mistylight rushed out into the forest and quickly headed for the camp, but with some luck, she would meet a cat sooner than that.
"You," thank the stars everyone wasn't asleep "come with me, please, Oriolepaw is injured and needs to be carried back." After saying that she didn't want much more before heading towards the Mossy den again.
[Open for a ThC cat to meet her and follow her back, be it in the territory or by the camp]
The newly appointed Keeper had just stepped out of her den and shook out her pelt when she was beckoned by the familiar voice of Mistyflight. Giving her a glance, Flameheart began to grow concerned. Someone had come to her to help- which was something she had yet to experience. Before she could ask questions, the warrior had already begun heading to wherever Oriolepaw was. Well... guess I have to wait and see what happened.
She didn't even bother to finish her stretch and followed closely behind her Clanmate, how had the young tom injured himself? They were heading toward the Mossy Den, one of the newest parts of ThunderClan's territory. And Oriolepaw was laying injured on the forest floor. Flameheart glanced at Mistyflight for a split second before rushing toward the apprentice. "What happened?" She shook her head. "Nevermind that. Mistyflight, come around on his other side. I'm going to see if we can both have him on our backs. We need to keep his shoulder where it's at and do our best to not move it... think that'll work?"
This was a more complicated problem than she had originally thought. Oriolepaw was in a lot of pain from what she could see on his face. He can't put any weight on it, nor can he move it... this is going to be tough..."How much does it hurt, Oriolepaw?"
