Twilightstar listened to Redspeckle's story with interest. She's never really asked what happened to the cats that returned, such as how it happened or if they were guided. The process itself seemed complicated and confusing, and at the end of the day, Twilightstar was just glad to have her clanmate back. "Well, I'm glad to have you back where you do belong. Come on, let's get you back I'm sure a trip to StarClan and back is exhausting." [done]
Redspeckle nodded approvingly, it was nice to hear that Twilightstar let xem back in after all. "Thank you so much, Twilightstar." She spoke approvingly. Finally, at least something good happened in her life.
Yup, she flinched away. Batglare's facial expression didn't change in the slightest aside from lashing his tail sharply behind him. His ears jerked in the direction of Snowybreeze as the novice warrior attempted to reassure the paw that he meant no harm. He'd appreciate the gesture if he wasn't already used to the reaction. Naturally, being called kind had Batglare rolling his eyes and slightly pulling his ears back. It's not that being called kind was insulting, it was the fact that someone actually seemed to believe he was considerate which was so offputting for Batglare. The senior warrior had done absolutely nothing for Snowybreeze to draw such a conclusion and Batglare was quite happy being WindClan's resident grump, thank-you-very-much.
She reeked, Batglare wrinkled his nose and drew away from the apprentice as her fear scent filled the den. He left her injuries alone even though she did seem to relax after a long moment. Batglare didn't see the point in forcing her to get used to him right now, instead, he left her be and let Snowybreeze coddle her for the time being. It wasn't long until Cowpaw showed up and began wrapping the troublesome Paw's scratches up did Batglare slowly uncurl himself from his seated position and stretched as he stood.
The huge tom watched Cowpaw unnervingly as he signed something or other to Twistedpaw. Batglare was not all that well-versed in the whole signing langue thing. If a cat had a working voice they should use it, he would never understand why Twilightstar allowed the Cowpaw to sign when he could speak. It would be one thing if the medicine cat was mute. Grunting to catch the medicine cat's attention, Batglare asked, "How long do I have to wait to take her out training?"
Even though Batglare would have liked to start immediately, considering the faster he got her trained the faster she was out of his fur, even he wasn't mean enough to try and take her out right this second. She'd get the rest of the day to recuperate, but that was probably as long as he'd allow. She should be pleased he was even allowing her this leniency. As he waited for an answer, he glanced at Snowybreeze and then back at Troublesome thoughtfully.
He should toss her in the apprentice den when he was done here, but, did she have someone to babysit her in there? He could probably just take her and throw her in the warrior den with him for the night. Unlike many mentors, Batglare did take responsibility for apprentices whenever he could. If he just tossed the paw in the apprentice den as she was on her own, with no certainty that someone would watch over her or that she'd watched herself that reflected badly on him and bother him. He suppose he could leave her in the medicine cat's den, however... Batglare stared at Cowpaw without his face moving an inch. Nope, he didn't need the medicine cat softening the apprentice more, she wasn't a kit anymore. Huffing quietly, Batglare waited to see if Troublesome said anything before his mind started wandering. It would save him some contemplating if he just asked her instead of wondering what she wanted to do.

Was this Featherfoot talking to her? Asking her to not let Scalepaw's life be wasted like hers? Or was this just her own guilt eating at her, reminder her of what her inaction had caused?
It's a false guilt. A false guilt.
The four moon old repeated the words Cowpaw had told her that day in her mind, letting them echo and soothe her building anxiety. They did little to appease her, truth be told. The words. That was all they were to her... words she used to convince herself that it might not have been her fault. That she might have been too late. Was she willing to be too late for Scalepaw as well? All because she might be laughed out of the leader's den? Surely her ego could take the hit, especially if there might be a chance Twilightstar would listen to her. Yeah... that was the kind of might she liked. So she would bet her chances on that might.
Besides... she had heard the buzz in the nursery. Talk from kits who had snuck out during clan meetings. Twilightstar let kits talk. She listened to them, even when they themselves weren't sure they understood what was at stake. Maybe she wouldn't laugh her out then? It was a chance, wasn't it? One she would have to take if she was to say she had given it her all. That she hadn't let another cat just... go.
A resolute frown crossing her young, sharp features, the lithe calico turned to the leader's entrance with renewed confidence. This was a serious matter, not some silly game. And Scalepaw would be the one to pay the consequences for everyone's inactions if she was right, especially if his reserved nature and refusal to talk to others had made this go over everyone's head. A small, sardonic smirk crossed her at this thought, realizing the insistence she carried conversations with - the one that made warriors wince when they saw her walking towards her with questions - might have been the only reason she had even managed to piece this puzzle together. If her theory was right, that is.

Her single white dipped paw being set inside the leader's den, Lightningkit called out, announcing herself before she dared press further in. "Twilightstar? My name is Lightningkit... Can I come in?" A large ear flipped awkwardly at this... meekness. The molly was not used to asking for permission, being a much bigger fan of saying sorry after the mischief was done. Even she had the sense to behave around the leader, however. Especially if she had any hope of being taken seriously this time.
The WindClan leader lifted her head as she spotted the small kit taking a single step into her den. She eyed the kit carefully, noting the lack of playfulness and excitement most kits who visited her had. The calico looked troubled if not a bit nervous to be here which meant she must be dealing with some sort of problem. Hopefully, it was nothing serious."I know your name, Lightningkit." Twilightstar offered a warm chuckle in hopes of putting the younger one at ease. It was always a little disheartening at how nervous her clanmates could grow around her. Unless they were causing trouble or needed a scolding, Twilightstar didn't often see the reason or anxiousness. She felt herself a very fair and open-minded she-cat, or so she tried to be. "Come on in," she meowed, "what can I help you with?"

The dark bengal kit wanted to go and talk with Twilighty. He had taken the the digging class with Dustbunny and he LOVED it!! He wanted to become a tunneler just like Dustbunny! Though he was looking where he was running and almost bumped into the leader, he chirped as he stumbled back, "I'm sorry Twilighty!"
Twilighty? That was a new one? Naturally, Twilightstar turned her head, focusing her single green eye on the young kit that came barreling into her den. Of course, he nearly ran straight into the seated leader who simply laughed gently. "That's alright, little one." The leader replied, wondering what had the young kit in such high spirits. "So what is that you have to ask me?"
Although she seemed to be skeptical at first, Twilightstar had quickly warmed up to the idea that Badgerpaw had suddenly sprung on her. The WindClan leader was one he thought highly of and had a true connection with. The gray leader was more of a mother than Ziggy was, though he still loved his birth mother. That connection would never go away nor be replaced. Twilightstar was his second mother. And he would fight alongside her and serve WindClan for her until the day he dies.
"You're the best mother anyone could ask for." he replied and wrapped his paws around her neck in the form of a hug- his first hug. "And I'm glad to serve WindClan." he added in a whisper.
Twilightstar purred loudly as the tom jumped at her in his excitement, wrapping her in a hug. Badgerpaw reminded Twilightstar mostly of Stagleech with his optimism and sweet nature. Who knows, Badgerpaw would just be the one she needed to help fix the division between her two remaining kits. "Well, I'm glad you think so." Twilightstar grinned at the tom's rather sweet compliment. The leader would never think herself a great or perfect mother, she lacked far too many qualities that normal mothers had. But she tried and she could appreciate Badgerpaw acknowledging that.
"You have kin now, Dreamlight and Leechscar, and a few more if they ever return to me. You should try and get along with them if you can." Twilightstar told the apprentice. Twilightstar wasn't going to be around forever, and she really hoped that her kin would stick together. As it currently was, that dream was more of a nightmare, but Twilightstar could hope.

The large black warrior had paced for a few moments outside of Twilightstar's den before he sighed and shook his, quietly stepping inside but still not walking in completely till Twilightstar had confirmed he could come in, "Twilightstar. I have a situation that I need to talk to about urgently."
The she-cat finished grooming a tuft of chest fur that had been bothering her just as one of her warriors stepped into her den. She looked up, blinking at the black tom, and then gave him the permission he sought by beckoning him into the den with a wave of her tail. She gave one last lick to her chest and then granted Crowfoot her full attention as he spoke about urgency. "Go ahead, I'm listening."

AppleStream dipped his head and smiled. "I was taken by twolegs and they had a dog..." He said and smiled.
Lilyantler padded back to camp with Berrypaw, each cat with poppy flowers in tow.
He looked around to find Cowpaw and beeline for the Medicine Cat, being ad careful as possible with the flowers in his jaws.
Once he was in front of the gentle giant, he dropped his cluster of herbs to the ground, ear twitching in an emotion that didn't quite show on his face, but seemed to be positive. "Sorry we might be a bit late, but we managed to grab a few poppy flowers."
