Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
Fallenstep gazes at the apprentice before he shakes his head. Holding his paw out, he shakes hers before letting go. "My apologies if I sound rude, I've not slept in a while." he mews in an attempt to smooth over his actions.
The blue and grey warrior had been sitting peacefully outside the nursery, tail curled over her paws and mist-colored gaze following the birds flying above while she listened to Sootfur talk. They had agreed to spilt that lesson into two parts since it was mandatory for kits and therefore they had quite a large group to teach. Mistylight would have loved to be inside the nursery herself, but it was already packed so she had instead settled outside of it, but rose up and dipped her head to Sootfur as the other warrior left. Time for her part then.
"Ok, kits, let's continue! The next point we'll touch on is how to handle meeting outsiders on our terriotry-" she paused as something in the corner of her eye caught her attention. Oh, more kits? "You guys are welcome to jump in now if you want." She offered with a warm smile before continuing.
"Now when you're kits you won't be leaving the camp but once you're apprentices you might go out with your mentors or a patrol, and stumble upon a rogue or kittypet on our land. What do you think you should do in that case?" It would be a good idea to involve the kits a little more by asking them questions, asking about their thoughts, and opening the doors for any questions they might have. They would likely learn this better this way than just sitting and listening to her talking.
[Reminder that everyone who participates will need at least one post between Misty's posts to react or ask questions. All the new kits who join can learn the other two points later to complete their lesson]
1. How to behave at gatherings
2. How to behave at a meeting already covered this lesson
3. How to handle meetings with an outsider/intruder
4. How patrols should be executed (marking the border, meeting other clan cats during a patrol, and reporting)
5. How to behave around camp (not running around and making a mess and running around, which dens to are and aren't allowed to enter, keeping the camp clean)
6. How kits and apprentices aren't allowed to leave the camp/go outside alone, and how to go about being outside as an apprentice (asking a warrior, not running off, possible punishments, and so on)
Others who can jump in now: @Leafspeaker - Cherrykit + Glowkit, @Peerless cucumber - Lotuskit, @Kat Honeykit, @dizzy Fuzzkit, @perseus. Daisykit, @oci Tidekit, @Emorat Stormkit Hollykit and Puddlekit
Minnow'Kits tiny ears perked up. "Oh! What I would do is I'd ask there purpose of why they are here?" She asked, awaiting to see if that was what she should do or just attack on sight
Tidekit didn’t even blink, taking the news in stride as she did everything else. “That’s okay, we can find something to play.” She plopped herself into the snow next to her new friend. “I’m Tidekit, by the way… I know! Let’s play hide and seek!” Yes, hide and seek was the perfect game for the two of them to play!
( @Pluto! )
"I- You really want to play with me-?" She whispered, hearing the other kittens name her eyes widened, She had forgot to introduce herself! "I-Im minnow'Kit!" She said. "Sure, Hide & Seek sounds fun!" She chirped
His cries were never heard and he was once again standing frozen, watching the blood bath happen again. The snow slowly turned red and engulfed his senses and... was beginning to engulf him. Rainpaw looked down and saw his reflection in the glistening copper-scented liquid. His face was covered in blood and bile rose up in his throat. Then a second later his sister's empty gaze stared back at him and he found his chin to be covered and dripping blood. Quietpaw's blood.
I should've been the one to die. Quietpaw didn't deserve any of that pain. She didn't deserve being abandoned by her parents... she didn't deserve that death. I should've been the one to be shredded. His heart ached as he fought to get the memory out of his head, but it seemed to be impossible. Terror suddenly gripped his pelt and his breathing quickened. He found himself to be clawing and ripping at the cat's pelt and when he looked back up, he saw himself as the fox.
His subconscious opened his jaws so he could yowl out once more, but a familiar scent of burnt wood and chilled air hit the roof of his mouth. The young tom calmed down slightly and began outstretching his paws in search of the comforting presence. When his paws touched a wiry pelt, Rainpaw slightly opened his left eye and looked at the fuzzy looking cat beside him. "C-cinder...paw?" he groaned quietly, looking into her green eyes. If Rainpaw wasn't so tired, he would've kicked Cinderpaw off his nest since he didn't want his sister's scent to be rubbed away too soon. "I... I miss her... I- I m-miss h-her so- s-so much..."
Tears came out of his eyes and he began to quietly sob, burying his face into his friend's fur all the while. "I- I sh-should've... I should've... taken her place... S-she s-shoved me o-out of the w-way... I sh-should ha-have b-been k-killed i-instead..."
The younger tom's shivering and weeping shook Cinderpaw to her core as she found herself curling next to him like a mother around her kit. To rip the stars out of the sky that had taken Quietpaw away from someone who cared so greatly would be too little of a punishment -- to stop Rainpaw, to stop any of these kids from hurting, she would drop the whole damn moon.
But she couldn't do that. She couldn't do a thing, except sit here rebirthed like she was Starclan's prophet and give the boy a shoulder to cry on. "I know," The overgrown apprentice murmured weakly, burying her own muzzle in the fur on the back of Rainpaw's neck. She didn't. At least, not really. Death's permanence around her flickered, almost entirely false until where it really mattered. Why was it so easy for Starclan to spare 10 lives on former leaders when she begged nightly for hoards of their children to get even one extra? "You didn't-- You didn't ask her to be your hero. She wanted... wants you to be here. Don't tell her that her choice w-was wrong."
There was a slight sternness to her tone, but she tried to keep it comforting - Quietpaw had made a choice, even if it was a choice she shouldn't have been forced to make it in the first place. Just like Lionpaw, she had made the infinitely noble decision to die for who she knew was important - not many of Thunderclan's full warriors could do that.
"I- You really want to play with me-?" She whispered, hearing the other kittens name her eyes widened, She had forgot to introduce herself! "I-Im minnow'Kit!" She said. "Sure, Hide & Seek sounds fun!" She chirped
Tidekit grinned, saying “It’s nice to meet you Minnowkit!” She bounced up and dashed a few feet away and spun around excitedly. “Okay Minnowkit, you go hide and I’ll seek. I’ll count for a really long time so you have plenty of time, okay?” She looked around and dashed to the nearest rock, which was fairly close by, and leaned her body up against it. She gave Minnowkit one last grin before tucking her head between her paws. “Ready? One.. two… three…”

Minnow'Kit struggled to run for cover due to her leg but she was able to hide behind a few stones nearby the exit.
As apprentices made their way to new mentors, Sparrowstar cleared her throat to make her final announcements before she wrapped things up.
"Additionally I am sure many of you have encountered or are aware of Blazekit [ @~ moonwatcher x Qibli ~ ] and his unique situation. Seeing as every member of this clan should be given an opportunity to prove themselves and contribute in their own way, I have decided to introduce a new role in our camp; Thunderclan's Caretakers."
"Blazekit will be the first to join this rank as Blazepaw, and will be given guidance and direction by Squirreltail [ @SqurrelTail ] as he learns to preform certain duties before receiving his full name."
"Caretakers will be comprised of cats with physical ailments that prevent them from becoming full warriors, alongside elders who do not wish to fully retire following their service as warriors in this clan and their duties will primarily center around the maintenance of our camp; making sure structures are sound, cycling out old prey from the pile, and other such tasks."
Pausing a moment to see how the idea settled in on her clanmates, Sparrowstar continued.
"Alongside the creation of this rank, I have decided to adjust the conditions that our Keepers persist in."
"Thunderclan's Keepers may now be challenged for their rank. Such challenges will be determined through a spar where the challenged Keeper and their opponent will fight with sheathed claws. The first cat to be able to successfully pin their opponent will be named the winner and claim the rank of Keeper.”
Taking a breath as her tail twitched behind her, Sparrowstar allowed a few seconds of silence for that information to sink in.
“These spars will be typically done within the Camp Clearing or in the Training Cave if you wish for them to be more private, but in order for a spar to occur, the challenged Keeper will need to accept the challenge. You do have the option to decline if you so choose.”
A quick glance down to the current Keeper's present hopefully conveyed that fact.
“These spars will be overseen by myself, Thrushfur, or Sundust. All of us have the right to step in and end the fight if it goes too far, although I expect all of you to refrain from pushing your limits. Additionally, in order to make it fair, each of the Keepers can only be challenged once per moon," she stated, wanting to make the terms of this arrangement impeccably clear. "And if a Keeper loses their rank, they must wait two full moons before attempting to take it back if they so desire."
"Only warriors will be permitted to challenge Keepers for their rank. However, apprentices if you have a strong desire for such a rank I would encourage you to use this as motivation to complete your training and make that jump. Prove your commitment and you may be able to take their place one day. There will only be up to 5 Keepers at a time, so I expect the best of the best to fill this rank."
Glancing once more over the cats gathered below her, the tan molly gave a slight nod before hopping down back into the clearing.
"Speaking of Keepers, they will be handling patrols for the next half-moon while Thrushfur takes some time to mourn. Come to me with any questions you may have, but for now this meeting is dismissed."
Turning quickly back to her den, the Thunderclan leader padded away with nothing more than a brief flick of her tail.
Acornkit huffed. WHAT! Blazekit gets a boring old job?!?! Acornkit growled in annoyance, she could tear out her own ears and eyes and still prove she could be the best Warrior ever. She felt the need to climb up there herself and tear out Sparrowstars eyes and ears. THIS IS UNFAIR!!! Caretakers are just random old Elders! If SHE was the leader. Everycat either had to become a warrior and if anybody declines... well lets say Thunderclan will loose a member. This stinks.
