From within the darkened depths of his den, the Lord of the Waters emerged swiftly, alerted to an unknown commotion. His steady partial gaze soon found his daughter, Silversnow, and the clan’s forever queen, Lilycreek. To his surprise, Pikestar would soon see the three kittens held by the young warrior. Immediately, his mind would go the most dramatic-possible scenario, but would force himself to shake all such thoughts away and make his way over to the two she-cats. “What in the name of the moon is happening here?” The large tomcat asked, his tone not holding any anger, but mostly just sheer bewilderment. Lilycreek already seemed set on getting them to the nursery, and Silversnow would obviously not set them down until they were safe and warm. "Ah, nevermind that for now. I'll get answers later. Get them inside, Silversnow, do as Lilycreek says." He hesitated on following them, wondering if it was something that needed to be dealt with amongst the queens alone. However, this was his clan, and Silversnow was his daughter, so it should involve him. Growing silent, Pikestar waited for the young silver-furred warrior to lead the way towards the clan nursery.
( @effervescent. @sol. - ahh, this response is so short, i'm sorry. )
Everything was forgotten when Stonepaw arrived. Fawnlight limped from Cloudjumper's side and was instantly flanking the young tom, touching her nose to his ear like her father had done for her many times before. "There was nothing any cat could've done, Stonepaw. He was already dead when he was brought to camp." Now, came the important lesson. Attempting to user her tail to lift the young cats chin so that he would look at her, she wanted to make sure he understood what she was about to say. "This is not Your fault. You were not too slow. You are not too weak. You are nothing but good and kind, and your paws will heal many more Clanmates than they will ever lose. You never, ever have to apologize, do you hear me Stonepaw? Death in this Clan will never be your fault."
And with that, Fawnlight aimed to press her head to the top of Stonepaw's, soft and comforting. She would die before she let him traverse down the dark path that she had unfortunately fallen into at the beginning of her apprenticeship. The trauma of believing every death was his fault would end here, before it had any time to take root. She would stop it.
Looking to Silversnow, Fawnlight's gaze was sharp, and only directed at her. "Go with him. Help him gather whatever he needs." There was no question in her tone. Either Silversnow would help Stonepaw and sheath her claws, or she would see to it that the warrior name she had just received was stripped from her, Pikestar be damned.
After a moment or two, the former medicine cat looked over at the stranger, then back at Stonepaw. "I will help prepare Blizzardwind's body, but that cat over there and our deputy need your attention. You're my big, strong medicine cat, aren't you? You're smart and I know you know the herbs." A flicker of a smile as Fawnlight tried her best to encourage the young tom. "It doesn't look too deep, perhaps having her clean it out and then offering cobwebs or a poppy seed would do the trick, what do you think, hmm?" Hopefully this would get him focused on that. Lifting her head, she glanced once at Gingerfrost to assess his wounds then back to Stonepaw. "You have a big role in this Clan now. If you need help from any cat, all you have to do is ask. And if they give you any lip, you let me know, okay?"
Oh, she would love to see any cat in RiverClan deny helping young Stonepaw. It would be the last time they ever had the tongues to do so.
Ears went back as she heard Fawnlights words to her. She lowered her head in defeat, looking embarrassed. "Yes, ma'am." Her voice was soft as she stood, tail low and dusting the ground, before turning to Stonepaw. "Let's go kiddo, you can teach me a couple things while we're gettin' stuff. That way I can always be helpful to you." She smiled at the young tom, but her smile was full of worry.

Gingerpaw sat with her paws curled under her body, trying to ignore the bitter cold, which her fur offered little protection from. Her tail was wrapped around her in a protective manner, and she sat with her eyes almost closed, looking as though she was only seconds away from sleep. In truth, she was very alert, and ready for anything.

Batkit thought for a moment, catching Smokethroat's own yawn and repeating it back. They always wondered why cats would yawn after others did. It was odd, but he didn't mind it too much. The kit snapped his jaws shut, trying to figure out what would be the best part of being a warrior. They certainly wouldn't like fighting. Nor hunting, now that he thought of it. His mind went back to that one time with Seapaw. Hmmm. "I wanna see the territory on my own," Batkit said, finally deciding that he was excited about the freedoms that the warriors seemed to have. It seemed nice to be able to just see RiverClan without having to get permission or anything of the sort.
Wobbling out of the warrior's den on unsteady paws, the silver warrior staggered for a moment, unable to shake the blurriness from his sage-coloured eyes. When at last the world had focused around him, the not-so-young tabby tom shook his head, mumbled something incoherent under his breath, and then slouched off in a random direction.
Beetlekit was doing kit things, yk like playing with moss and chewing it but he was bored. So he started to look around for something to do and his eyes landed on the deputy, his face scrunched up in thought before he yelled out loudly, "GINGERBUTT PLAY WITH ME!"
His head shot up, wide-eyed, nearly chocking on the bit of water he'd been drinking. Did... Did he hear that right? That couldn't have been towards him, right? No. But sure enough, as he slowly (comically) turned around, look of bewilderment still evident on his face, he found Beetlekit staring straight back at him.
...
...
...Gingerbutt? Who? What? How? This sounds like something his sister would come up with. The young old deputy's eyes finally narrowed as he watched the kit, lips pressed together, frankly unsure what to do with this, holding his breath. He should be angry. But... He was more confused. Very confused. And a little irritated in face of the nickname. But, a deep sigh of resignation left the tabby after several long heartbeats. As much as he wanted to ask (why? How?), this was a kit... He wouldn't be getting much of anything out of him other than being forced to play with him anyway. The old Grumpbutt had no other choice (save him).
..But why Gingerbutt all of a sudden? What did he do??
[ @x ghostie ] - hope it’s ok to report the patrol here, since this is where it was assigned. apologies for the late response, we got pretty involved in it! beastflame

The massive grey tabby looked back into the clearing, eager to get off his paws. The trek to the rugged range had been a long one, and he was relieved to be home. Cloverdust, Nightspark, and Mintpaw had all returned with him without major incident, and all of them were well. That, plus the area they’d been patrolling was threat-free, besides the occasional treacherous footing that came with the rough terrain. Beastflame considered this to be a success.
He approached Wormbite, hoping it was alright they were a little late. The trip back had taken longer than expected, since they were all tired and sore from their travels. “Wormbite,” he acknowledged, dipping his head briefly in respect. “We’ve just returned from the patrol to the Rugged Range. Not much to report, the terrain is as rough as ever, and it was troublesome to navigate. Thankfully no injuries due to it, but it slowed us down a lot. There’s little greenery or plant material around, and also little prey. Just some birds, lots of bats in the caves, and the occasional vole. No outsiders or large predators to be found.”
