With both kits quickly responding to his question, Snowybreeze felt a purr of approval quickly rumbling in his throat, an encouraging nod accompanying it. The massive tom moved his tail lightly to brush against his friend's, grateful for the companionship. So far, this had been his most eager band of students yet, with both kits participating equally. True, Hawkkit was still being much more reserved that Basilkit, but Snowybreeze could hardly fault him for that. The patched warrior himself had been - and still was - far quieter as a kit than his friend's little brother appeared to be, and that was alright! As long as they were both learning and willing to show what they did or did not know, the maine coon mix couldn't ask for more!
"Yes. Very good. Both of you," the tom purred softly as a gentle smile tugged at his lips. "Now. Today. For basics. I will teach you both. The most used hunter's crouch. In all of WindClan. Perfect for rabbits. But can also be used. For other prey. Such as mice. And voles. Especially when not at the borders. Out in the open moors."
Giving a small, apologetic look at small Basilkit, the tom whispered a low excuse me before gingerly getting up, making sure to not step on the young kit's tiny toes. Shaking his feathery coat, the massive warrior flicked his tail, a silent request for both kits to look at him while he showed the appropriate technique. Mischief glinted in his eyes for a moment, remembering well his first attempt at this very crouch. The wind had been rather brutal that day, down by Windy Hills. Yet even as young as he was, he'd already been on the larger size, almost as big as his mentor from the day he'd been assigned to her. Snowybreeze still wasn't certain what had happened. How he'd tripped and fallen on the flattest ground Deadmoon could find among the hills. But of course, clumsy as he'd been back then, he'd tipped to the side and been felled like a log. The wind had... little to do with his trip as far as he could remember. Hopefully he would be able to do a better job at teaching the crouch than he had his first time learning it. Especially with Berryfrost watching. ... wait. Berryfrost was watching!
A quick misstep. One so similar to the ones he'd had when he was much, much younger. That was all it took for his nose to greet the ground beneath him, stars showing up and flooding his vision. Well... that... had not happened in a bit. How odd. He'd grown too lax, he supposed. Too comfortable in his own fur and forgotten to properly focus when crouching. He supposed it was to be expected. He wasn't really thinking much when he was out hunting. It was all instinct. And who was it that had told him he had to stop thinking so much when hunting?
Getting up with a bit of an embarrassed look upon his features, the gentle giant flashed a bashful smile at the group of gathered cats while he rubbed his nose. Well... at least now the kits shouldn't feel too terrible if they failed on their first try. StarClan help him, he wasn't certain who he was more mortified for disappointing with that abysmal display of hunting. In an attempt to cover up his shame, the tom stuck out his tongue playfully, hanging his head in an overly exaggerated fashion as he drew a deep breath for a sonorous sigh. Hopefully if all else failed, he could at least try to ensure no one was concerned for him over such a spectacular failure of an example for the most basic crouch used by the clan.
"Alright. That was an excellent show. I believe. On how not to do. A proper crouch," he mewed, his voice a bit nasally as he patted his nose one last time to ensure it was alright. Turning to Berryfrost, he mouthed a silent I'm sorry before continuing. "Now... perhaps Berryfrost would be so berry, berry cool? As to show. A proper crouch to use out on the moors?"

@Rose - Berryfrost | @effervescent. - Basilkit | @Karlos - Hawkkit
| I know the posting order so far has been Basil - Berry - Hawk, but if we could have Berry - Basil - Hawk for this post just so the kits have a chance to try out the crouch after Berry tries it? I sort of wanted to give Berry something to do during the class, if it's alright with you, Rose? Sorry if not! I can edit if you would prefer not to. |

Lightningstorm is WindClan's current medicine cat.
She has a semi-closed den policy.
“‘Sup Twilightstar! How are ya?” the calico stopped bouncing, watching at the older she-cat with sparkling-joy eyes that could shine through her long bangs.
Waiting for a response, Lavenderrock did not react to the leader finding a scent or scents on her leafy pelt. She twisted her head to find Twilightstar seemingly plucking leaves off of the giant’s coat. “Oh, you don’t have to do that, silly! I can do this instead!” Lavenderrock bunched her muscled limbs to the ground and bounced off of them, then repeated the process. A few or a dozen leaves were shaken off. Continuing her bouncing, she responded, “Oh! So long story short: I woke up at the warriors’ den and when I woke up, my stomach was rumbling -like really rumbling!- and then I went to the prey pile to get a rabbit and ate it. Whilst that was happening, a warrior came up to me -also eating a rabbit- and we had a chat about the weather and talked about rumors that are floating around in the camp lately. Sadly, she had to do a patrol so she left, but she gave me parts of the rabbit! She is soooo nice, Twilightstar! Anyways, I was eating both rabbits until an elder came out of their den and was giving a story to the apprentices. I missed the days when I used to hear the stories, so I couldn’t help myself, but also joined in to listen. During their story time, two apprentices were chatting about making a leaf pile. I was so curious what it is like to jump in a leaf pile, but I stayed a little longer to hear the end of the story. Really, Twilightstar, if I didn’t I wouldn’t have known what could’ve happened to the heroic rabbit!
“After the story was finished, I went outside of camp to make some leaf piles. It was so fun, Twilightstar. I think you would enjoy it, too! And umm…time passed too quickly when having fun, amiright? And now I am here, bouncing and telling you a story! Ooo just like what the elder was doing in my story!” Finally, she catches a breath or two, and after she caught enough oxygen she smiled down at the WindClan leader as if she haven't told a long story.
Lavenderrock reminded Twilightstar of Stumpypoppy in her own way. As the she-cat took to her own interesting way of removing the leaves, Twilightstar silently listened to her story, and it sounded a lot like a kit's mistake. "Lavenderrock, I haven't seen you in camp in half a moon and you're telling me that you lost track of time stuck in a leaf pile?" She frowned, the leader suppose that she had to go quite far to find enough levels to make a pile in a territory without trees. Yet considering it was nearing the end of leaf-bare and that snow is more common than leaves... still, this was very concerning.
"So you decided to up and disappear from the clan because of a desire to play like a kit in leaves, instead of remaining in the clan and fulfilling your duties to the clan as a full-grown warrior?" Twilightstar didn't really mind cats with carefree outlooks or attitudes unless it got in between WindClan. The excuse itself was quite prosperous and Lavenderrock didn't seem to understand the severity of going missing in the clan.
PATROLS ARE DUE MARCH 31 BY 11:59 PM EST
If you need an extension, let me know before the deadline
If you need to be replaced, let me know within two (2) days
Hunting patrols, have your character place their catch on the fresh-kill pile before reporting, or your character will be punished
PS!! A lot of the original patrol members had to be replaced because Rock is dumb and forgot to check things. If this happens again I will extend the patrol deadlines bc of my stupidness <3

Peachfrost approached the base of the Breezerock with slight hesitance. Patrols were due to be sent out soon, and with that weird sickness going around and everything else on Fallownose's plate - the new guardian decided she would be the one to run the show this week. What's the worst that could happen?
"Adderfrost ( @★Star★ ), could you head to the Thunderclan border with Cinderspirit ( @Cinderspirit ) and Rosepaw ( @~CherylBlossom~ ) ? I'm sure it'll be quiet, but stay on your guard."
"Leechscar ( @Undertaker ). I'm trusting you,Shiverglade ( @ShadeCosmic. ) and Mintshade( @Faline ) to mark the ShadowClan Border." She would never feel comfortable sending anyone out there... not with those foxhearts ready to pick off another one of their clanmates. But Peachfrost could rest easy with these three going out.
"Lilyheart ( @~*Hope*~ ), take Sheepbreeze ( @RedAnger ) and Slatepaw ( @SuspiciousMindz )to RiverClan Border, but keep your paws dry alright? It's still too cold to go splashin' around."
Once the border patrols were sorted, the molly moved on to the hunting patrols.
"Smallwing ( @MangoLovesCheese ), you and Berryfrost ( @Rose ) go hunt in Windy Hills. Don't come back until you've caught the fattest piece of prey there."
"Bluefog" ( @Soldier ) take Sleepypaw ( @Guardian Fox ) and go hunt in the Sky Glade."
"Hogpuddle? ( @jupiter ) You and Gorsepaw ( @vellichor )will head over to hunt in the Adder Rocks."
the massive white and blacked speckled tomcat rose to his paws as peachfrost called his name for a patrol? peachfrost? where was fallownose? silently hoping the deputy was okay, hog looked around for dizzypaw, wanting to head out immediately.
The tall Abyssinian's heart plummeted when she glimpsed her mate's miserable, guilt and grief-ridden face, and she welcome her beloved's body against hers like they were welded together, unmovable. Like they were frozen there, unable to be ripped apart by this grief that tore at their insides. "Why are you sorry?" She breathed softly, the full weight and meaning of her mate's words making her quiver. "Shining, what... what happened wasn't even close to your fault. You're a great mother, and what happened wasn't because of anything you did or didn't do." She clung to her mate, desperate for Shiningskies to understand. Desperate for her mate to stop blaming herself for Squirrelkit's death. Her paws shook, and she warmly nuzzled her beautiful ginger molly mate.
This wasn't how their new life was supposed to be. Her kits should be here, growing up. Not being broken by eagles or lost in the wilderness. Shiningskies should be happy. Aspenstrike should be happy. This wasn't the fresh start they were looking for at all, but Aspenstrike decided on a whim that they would have to make do. "I wouldn't lie to you, my love." It was true. She would never lie to Shiningskies, even if it might hurt her. What happened wasn't the queen's fault, and she hoped vehemently that she could see that soon, though the honey colored molly understood her mate's guilt. It was only natural.
Her name being spoken from the Breezerock made her look up, and her wide, pale yellow eyes widened. Her? A Guardian? Shock pulsated through her body, but she pushed it away. Her accomplishment- or... whatever this was, could wait. Shiningskies needed her now. "Thank you, Twilightstar. I won't let you down." She promised sincerely, swallowing a lump in her throat. The lilac molly was the reason she was here. Twi was the reason that Aspenstrike got this second chance, and she would forever be grateful for the leader. But she said no more, instead wrapping her paws around her shorter mate, attempting to lick the top of Shining's head soothingly, paws quaking at the unwelcome memories of her little daughter that were beginning to break through the walls she had built in her mind.
