Cougarpaw was surprised, to say the least that his name was called. He racked his mind at first remembering the punishment he was given at the tree climbing event and thinking he was in trouble before he remembered his “training” with Larkfire a moon or so ago, and when thinking about it, it really didn’t seem like training anymore… more like an… assessment! He was assessed and passed and was becoming a warrior! Holy Starclan! His face lit up and joy shot through his body but he suppressed it quickly, keeping himself neutral as his name was called and just nodding and padding up calmly behind the kits while on the inside he was having a mini party

Expectant, vibrant eyes looking up at his mum, Mousekit's rounded ears perked up as he heard Bigmum calling his name. Actually, calling a lot of kits' names. Had they gotten in trouble? Gasp! Had Bigmum seen him sneaky sneaking into the apprentices' den? Oh noooo! He hadn't meant it, he promised! Okay... that was a lie. He had totally meant to go in there. But he hadn't meant to get caught by their leader! He just wanted to make friends!

Whiskers twitching with curiosity as he saw the other kits named rushing forth excitedly, Mousekit was... confused. Why was everyone so happy to get punished? Unless... unless he was wrong and they weren't punished? But then why else would Bigmum call.... Double gasp! Wait wait wait! Could this be? Was this the day?! Was he finally going from kit to apprentice? He knew it would be soon, but he didn't think it was going to be that soon! Yayayayayay! Oh but...

But then... where was Hazely? His Hazely hadn't been called... Oh no. Was that why mum had been looking all over for them? Because she knew they were turning into apprentices today, and Hazely seemed to be away? Mousekit's lower lip trembled slightly at the realization, paws shifting uncomfortably at the thought. Because! Because... he... he was angry that his Hazely had been avoiding him, but... but he still loved his Hazely. And he wanted to sit with his brother today, he did, he did!

Looking up at the Shadowledge, Mousekit took a step back, unsure of what to do. The others were gathering there... with their littermates and friends but... he didn't know them. His friends were not gathering there with him. His brother wasn't gathering there with him... What was he going to do... what was he going to-

Wrenny says eeeeeeEEEEeeeeeeEE!!

A familiar voice screeching rather odd words catching Mousekit's attention, the young gray kit turned his green gaze in surprise at the black and white kit who had quickly become one of his best friends. He knew well enough. His name didn't have to be spoken. Wrenny... Wrenny was cheering for him! Right... Wrenny was happy for him, and he wasn't going to let Wrenny down, nope! He was a good, good friend. If Wrenny was happy, then he was happy with her!

Plastering a big, beaming smile on his face, Mousekit gave a small chirp of glee, nuzzling his mother's flank very quickly before bouncing away. At the base of the Shadowledge, the monochrome furred tom turned his gaze upwards, giving a passing glance at Bigmum before sweeping his eyes over to the clearing. It wouldn't hurt... would it? To make sure his Hazely really, really wasn't here? The stocky kit didn't get a chance to look very far, however, as his green orbs locked on orange hues, a smile spreading from maw to their kindly gaze. Auntie Larky! Auntie Larky was smiling at him! Flashing his happiest grin at his dear auntie, Mousekit turned back happily, facing Shadowledge as he hummed and stomped little white dipped paws on the ground, a little expectant dance as he waited for Bigmum to speak.

The Enforcer watched silently from her position as Dawnstar called up kits to be apprenticed and Cougarpaw to become a warrior. She remembered Smolderingkit from when he had asked for a lesson on battle moves, and Spiritkit from when they had tried to attack one of Twilightstar's patrol members when they entered camp, but the others she had never interacted with. Hopefully, if their mentors did a good job, they would make fantastic warriors.

He watched as kits were called forward to become apprentices, remembering when he had been given Tallpaw. Slytiger had done his best to train her, but she had up and vanished on him. He still felt like it was his fault, even if their was nothing he could have done.

The meeting started off fine. He was left there waiting for a bit while the rest of the clan gathered, and the boy took to grooming his barely messy pelt. But eventually Dawnstar spoke again, and he looked up towards the queen of darkness as she called forward a few kits. He shuddered for a moment, the den was already crowded with 25 other apprentices (yes he had counted), he wasn't looking forwards to six more being added to the roster. Or five? His heart sank slightly as Cougarpaw's name was called forward. Was the young tom seriously having his warrior ceremony? It was bad enough that he was related to Shadow Queen, and now he was being apprenticed before him, when he was 7 moons younger.

He drew his eyes away from the ceremony, he preferred not to be reminded of his failures in life. Instead, his green eyes awkwardly looked around camp. That's when he saw Mirehound slinking away from the meeting, and approaching a cat he wasn't sure he could recognize. He couldn't hear the words, but he could read body language well enough to know that she wasn't happy. He watched with interest, trying to decipher what was going on. But ti seemed the conversation was cut off when a kit decided to join in. He waited a moment to see if anyone was going to fetch their child, but nobody did. With a huff he stood up, quietly trotting over to the trio. He gave a questioning glance to Mirehound and Silvershadow, before lowering his age to the young kit. "Let's leave these two to their conversation alright?" He hoped his grimace at having to talk to the little gremlin was hidden well enough by his flowery mask. "You know you've got a few of your denmates about to have their ceremonies, and I'm sure they'd be upset if you missed it, so why don't we go sit down, alright?" He continued, ushering the kit along with his tail, worst case scenario he'd just pick the child up and carry it back.

The golden she-cat smiled warmly as her grey kit pranced over to her, apologizing for being late. She leaned down to touch the top of his head with her nose gently and whispered, "No need to apologize, making friends is a good thing." She was aware that she was slowly becoming less vital to her kits and the feeling was bitter sweet. She wanted to see them progress and thrive and make friends with their clanmates outside of herself and each other, but the change seemed to be happening so fast. She didn't realize just how fast it all comes and goes when she herself was a kit with her own littermates. She looked up with her one eye as Dawnstar mentioned her kit's name and a prideful warmth spread through her. She quickly leaned back into her son, giving his fur a quick grooming before he nuzzled her and ran off excitedly to join the other apprentices. Watching Mousekit sit beneath the Shadowledge gave her an unexpected pang of unease. Where is Hazelkit? She'd looked before the ceremony but hadn't thought too much of not finding her other son as her kits had grown to spend less time with her and more time on their own but it was time for their apprentice ceremony and she hadn't been able to find Hazelkit. She shuffled her paws fretfully but tried desperately to be present and excited for Mousekit. She'd go searching for Hazelkit as soon as the meeting was over, she couldn't do anything about it right that moment and Mousekit needed her to be present and unpanicked. She took a deep breath and put on a smile for her son sitting so proud and grown-up beneath the familiar shadowledge, flashing him an encouraging and proud smile.

Vulturekit bounded up after his brother tail twitching back and forth as he looked up to Dawnstar his eyes wide as he just barley nudge Smoldering before moving away so Dawnstar wouldn’t yell at them.

Iciclestrike, Foxcall, and Sorrelflare watched as the three kits and apprentice step up. They were all glad that Shadowclan would be getting more warriors soon if the apprentices kept up with their training.

"Oh my mushrooms." The black kitten tumbled out of the nursery, running towards her sister as she mumbled the words. This was crazy, this was bonkers. Morningstar (Dawnlady?) Had finally said her name, which, probably meant it was time for her to become an apprentice. Spiritpaw. She'd be the best Spiritpaw ever and then she'd be able to show off all her skills, and Hollowkit would be next to her the whole time, which would be cool so long as Hollowkit didn't do better than her. An unnatural, sloppy grin breached her face as she stared up at the leader. Honestly, she had thought she would be a kit forever. During that... one lesson like forever ago, she had assumed that Dawnqueen hated her, especially considering how she'd heard that Smolderingkit was like her favorite - which had to mean that the one time they had met up Dawnslay had hated her and that was why she was super boring. This was so cool. She was going to have the biggest, baddest mentor and she was going to be the biggest, baddest member of ShadowClan. Hollowkit could be second, and she supposed Morningmadam could be like, top five, cause Morningmiss was actually letting her become an apprentice.
